    Hi mate. I know you uploaded this years ago, but just to let you know it's still helping people today! Phone shop quoted £100+ to replace the knackered battery and cracked rear glass on my S7 Edge. I bought the kit on ebay for £15 all-in, and managed to follow you instructions and get it done myself! The only really hard parts were both bits involving glue - getting the back glass off initially, and then getting the battery itself out. Aside from that, plain sailing, and all running as it should. Many thanks!

      +MRBADASS EBay is the best place that I found, if you look for OEM original ones I found quite a few.

    I got a G935W8 (Canada) s7. I was wondering which battery exactly I should get? I'm thinking about buying the $12 tool kit but would I also need the double sided adhesive and the back cover adhesive? Ever test the phone after replacement if the phone still maintains some 'waterproof' to it?

    • @SmartEasyDIYer
      @SmartEasyDIYer  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +John Carlo Flores Yes I would recommend getting all that. I'm not sure which one exactly will fit your battery I would recommend contacting the seller of the bed are you like best and asking them specifically.

      Thanks. If you replace the seal it should do ok. It may not be quite as perfect as original but shouldn’t be too bad.

    I followed your video and was able to replace the battery on my S7 Edge quite easily. The only problem I had was that taking the back off caused the paint film on inside of lid to disintegrate. I could use the back in its transparent form but was able to get a replacement back in the original colour for only a small amount. Thanks for the video.

    The most important part of this procedure is how to go about the removal of the actual original battery.
    It is stuck really firmly in position...do not lever underneath the battery to prise it out. If you do ...you run the real risk of damaging the circuit on the back of screen....this will result in dead pixels at the very least and a completely ruined screen at worst.
    Slide a piece of STRONG FISHING LINE. under the battery at the top...while someone holds the phone firmly in place on the work surface...You can now in a cheese wire fashion.. use a left to right sawing action to cut through the bond between battery and the screen...working your way down from the top to the bottom.
    Persevere and take your time doing this even if you need to renew the fishing line a few times.
    No one who presents this battery change video on TH-cam mentions this and its easily the most difficult and destructive part of the whole procedure if it goes wrong.

    I changed my battery as explained... but after assembling the antenna suddenly doesn't work anymore. I don't have any connectivity. I bought a new antenna. But still it doesn't work anymore. I restarted and resettet the phone and still it doesn't work. What can I do?

    Do you need to buy additional adhesive for the back to stick back on?

      I would recommend getting new yes that way it retains the water resistant better.

    My tip is to use a hot water bottle instead of a hair dryer or heat gun. You can control exactly where you warm the phone and you know it won't get too hot.

    • @SmartEasyDIYer

      I’m not sure but it’s pretty straightforward there’s usually a plastic film on both sides so you peel off one side and stick it on the phone all the way around the perimeter. It should make sense right where it goes when you hold in your hand because they should be made specifically for your phone model.
