  • From a request in the comments: how to clean the mower deck?
Taking off the mower deck and putting it back on with no tools in this video. Easy to do and cleans out well on the Ryobi RY48130 with a 30-inch mowing deck.

Electricity and water don't mix well. Only mow dry and blow the deck clean with a leaf blower after each use. Cool video. My mower has 4 pins and seems much more difficult. I don't use tools. I can't imagine how much they would help. Those connection cables can be difficult to line up too. You made it look easy. Thanks.

I'm 65 year old female and I have to change blades due to me running over too many roots from the tree I have in my yard. You made to look easy to change. Another video said you have to make sure you level it after you put it back on. I didn't see you do that so I'm not either. Thanks for your video, you helped me out.

Thank you. I didn't fully change out the blades, just cleaned out the mower deck.

Yes you took the deck off. The deck is what you level.

Do you have any issue with the deck being level after this? I saw the operation manual mentions leveling the deck after removing it and reattaching it.

Love my Ryobi electric riding mower. Ryobi makes great tools. But have to admit this is a pain the butt. Has to be done every time or else the grass hardens on the underside. Seriously thinking about putting together some sort of lift to access the underside rather than taking it off every time. Not sure compressed air would actually get the stuff off and no matter how dry it is outside grass always has moisture and sticks. It's great little machine though.

Nice to know. I usually just tip the mower over on it's back, it's not very heavy.

This is a good idea, I didn't even think about this since it's electric!

Tip: Remove all the pin retainer clips before you drop the deck.

Did you put the deck all the way down with the lever because for me it helps alot

If you are putting everything back exactly the way you found it, like you did, why would you need to level the deck? And thanks for making it look so easy!

That looks a LOT easier than what I have to do to take my Craftsman deck off. It’s an older gas model from 2006.

The process is very streamlined and the hardest part was putting the pins back in.

How do you get the spindle covers off the motors so you can clean under them?
