    This video was a powerful wake-up call. It's humbling to realize how much I can still learn, but it's also incredibly motivating! My app has the potential to be a game-changer, but I lack the marketing muscle to truly unleash its power. I don't want to compromise on quality - I want to do this right. Brett, your expertise is undeniable. Would you be interested in helping me make this app a reality? Consulting session, perhaps? Thank you.

    Hi Brett, I am a niche sneaker brand start-up, if all goes well it will be a top 5 brand. Now tbh there is a lot about business and investing that I don't understand yet, but I could tell when watching this video that it is a GEM, so thank you for that, I will watch again every so often and will follow these rules.
    I have put some of my own money and now a friend of mine seems willing to help me with more pre-seed money so I can test my assumptions. But I'm not sure how much to ask, meaning should it be enough money to just test assumptions? And what should I give him in return? And last question, do you offer consulting?
    Also I am looking for co-founders, one a entrepreneur/business type person, and probably a marketing person. When I get to the Angel round I may need a funding advisor, depends on how much I can learn by that time.
    One of the different type of shoes that we are going to do is a basketball sneakers, and ironically one of the people that had applied for to my co-founder post was a funding advisor, but he had worked for the Miami Heat and some other NBA teams before he became and advisor. So idk may turn out to be a good connection but he backed off of the co-founder interview, which really was a blessing because he already had a full plate.

    • @BrettFoxstartupceo
      @BrettFoxstartupceo  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for the kind words. You want to raise enough money to get to at least the next major milestone and give yourself enough runway for 18 months of operation. That would be ideal.

    • @codypatron5968
      @codypatron5968 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ok well I will may have to settle for "test assumptions" money first from my friend, and then maybe that will get me to a seed round from an angel investor? So I can launch?
      Imo this is also the perfect type of product for crowd funding as well.
      As far as finding the value for my start-up, there hasn't really been any new sneaker brands besides Sketchers that became a major player. But my brand is more similar to Air Jordans, not copy cats at all totally different concept, has to do with graffiti and the artists themselves. So it's similar in the sense that my brand is connected to hip-hop, and basketball.
      So how to gauge my value? I can only guess right. A guy who owned a sneaker store in the mall loved the concept and he thinks I could do around 70% of what the Air Jordan market does.

      @@codypatron5968 Great question. The market, which is investors, determines the value of your company, not you. Having said that, you can look at what other similar companies have been valued at. Or you can value the company yourself. A seed round of $1 million or less, the investors will likely get between 10% to 15%. I hope this helps.

    Hey Brett, I loved this video! Quick question: would you recommend setting deadlines for closing deals at the pre-seed stage when it’s on SAFEs?

    • @BrettFoxstartupceo
      @BrettFoxstartupceo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sean.
      Thanks for your kind words. Every situation is different, so you have to gauge the interest before you set a deadline.
      However, deadlines work as a way of getting a commitment. Just make sure that the investor has been given enough time to make a decision. I hope this helps.

    Brett, I want to start a business selling the same herbal supplement that I have been taking for 12 years with great results. It balances hormones for both Men and Women. It has tons of success stories on TH-cam. Most people need it, but very few know it exists. What should I do? Start myself and get some sales, then seek investors. Or seek investors now.

    Hello Brett !
    Your video is great ! I have a small business which is doing well, and i would like to scale things up, do you suggest that I seek multiple or one angel investor or should I approach a venture capitalists firm . And if I do choose either what percent of equity should I start with, since this will be a seed funding. My brand is related to the skincare niche and I'm based in India. Thank you.

    • @BrettFoxstartupceo
      @BrettFoxstartupceo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jasmine. There's not enough information for me to to give you a specific answer. I can tell you that most businesses are not venture fundable or even angel fundable. In today's world, to get venture funding, your startup has to have to the potential to be valued at over $1 billion. If not, it's going to be tough to attract interest from professional investors.
