Five Reasons I Should Bootstrap My Startup
Five reasons I should bootstrap my startup
One of the most successful companies I’ve worked with, Gateway Genomics, started with an initial investment of just $80,000, bootstrapping to a $100 million exit. My point is this: You don’t have to raise venture capital to have a successful startup.
That’s what today’s video is all about. I share with you the five reasons you might be better off bootstrapping instead of raising venture capital funding. I hope you like it.

      That's the way venture funding works. You give up a percentage of your company. The investors are betting they will make at least 10X to 30X on their investment over time when the company is sold or goes public.

      I been working on this idea, and every time I tell myself, it can get better, it gets better. I'm retired over 60, feel great, most days. I'm filing for my, D.B.A, this month. I'm planning to avoid mistakes I seen other people made. People can see the result with their eyes. All I'm doing on is putting all the building blocks in place. Since I'm not getting paid, it shouldn't affect my SS. Looking at a leasing-5 years, to purchase 25 or 30 acreages, as a partnership. When other parts of the projects are done. I will let the customers, weekly involvement and positive anticipation. To be the factor, to expand. I already have a group of people that will benefit. That I will be pitching the idea to soon.

    Can you tell me why at 10:20 it would be an exception to set a price when you have a smaller set of angel investors?

    • @BrettFoxstartupceo
      @BrettFoxstartupceo 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Actually, what I said was if you're raising money from 10 angel investors, you're better off setting the price. The reason is that when you have a large syndicate of investors, it's like herding cats. It would be chaos to try and find a lead investor in this situation, so you're better off just setting the price.
