My 1st marathon was this year in Los Angeles and a big disappointment. I'm 65. Two days before the race I felt a niggle in my right knee. On race day the pain intensified and I walked the last 10K. I'm glad you got a PB at least. I will be lucky to run a Sub 5.
This is exactly the marathon, to finish despite the difficulties. You know how you start and you'll never know how you'll end.. that's the magic. Well done !!
I always love the end of a marathon. Everyone is in pain, favoring one leg, but they’re trying their hardest to get to the line. Berlin looks like a fun race. Thanks for sharing.
I am running the Berlin Marathon for the first time in 3 weeks, your video showed up on my feed and I am glad it did. Very well done and I really enjoyed watching.
Tony I don’t even know you and I’m here cheering you on through the pain! I know it wasn’t the race you wanted but you did exceptional!!! I’m running Berlin in two weeks and I just got even more excited after seeing you video! Thanks for sharing, mate!
Tony, you are awesome and has the spirit of the Lion to carry on. I can feel you totally because it happened to me at the same course. I ran it too. The wheels came off for me at mile 18, both quads locked and couldn't lift my legs up and had to do the same like you, just walked and jogged till finish line. That was awful and really painful. But let's learn from this. We probably went out at a pace that we couldn't sustain for the entire 26.2miles. We need to adjust it down to avoid this. Good luck
Well done Tony! I’m inspired by the look of true grit and determination on your face as you cross the finish line. I hope your IT band is feeling better. That’s a very painful injury! I really enjoyed your race video! Have a great day.
Great effort running the whole marathon with the 360 camera to show us viewers. I suspect the right IT band flare up at the end of the race could be due to the extra stress on it due to your arms not swinging naturally due to holding the camera stick.
That is a fair point, I would say that the camera extended on the pole is only about 15 minutes of the whole race, in short burst. But the way the body works you could be right. However I do train with the camera or water bottles in my hands. Thanks for watching & have a great day 👍😊
Great job getting it done! I ran it as well and enjoyed it a lot until 35km, started run/walking from there. Still an amazing day and I want to go back next year and improve my time. Best of luck in Amsterdam!
@@TonyJamesRunning 4:15. I ran 4:24 in spring, but I have a lot pains. Now I am feeling good. Test half Marathon is next weekend and I am feeling pretty strong.
@@TonyJamesRunning Half went well. I was aiming 1:52:30 and ended 1:51:36. Running feeled good and there was no pains (I had troubles in spring). So I have good feeling for Berlin Marathon. There is still 5 weeks time to prepare for it.

Well done mate :)
Thank you 🙏
Still inspiring
Thanks David, I'm just a runner on a journey.
I saw numerous people with action cameras with extension sticks. I assume it was no problem to bring that with you onto the course?
Berlin would discourage their use, but they are not banned like in Boston
