Awww. He did get tired from heat. He's so polite. Nice they noticed!

I wish I could turn on my TV today and hear such a post-match interview: thoughtful, considerate, and polite.

In typical fashion Mcenroe once said it was terrible to think how much Borg denied the world of sublime tennis by retiring. (Mac meant of course future Borg v Mac games!)
The thing is though. Mac was right. We all - Mac too - lost out so, so much when Borg quit the game.

It's a tragedy that he retired so young. He was so fit that he could have played at the very top level for probably another 6-7 years at least, but he was mentally burnt out. He played his first Davis Cup match at just 15 years old, imagine. He just couldn't take it anymore. Had he played the Australian (no one did back then) and played on, it would be his GS record everyone would be chasing. Borg, the real GOAT. The man who changed tennis both in style of play and in fame , putting it on the front page as well as the back page.

@@jeremyd1021 Agree completely - they often say no player is bigger than the game but he just was. Such great days and atmosphere when he was playing.

      @@jeremyd1021 il s'est retiré à 26 ans,je crois,avec 11 titres.Apres avoir perdu sa place de no1.Sinon,il aurait pu gagner en gagner encore.
