Stay tuned till the end, lots to talk about
depeche mode - dangerous
highly recommend it 👍
Check out Depeche Mode’s Never Let Me Down Again - the Live 101 concert version. Absolutely stupefying how Dave can command a crowd.
Deepche Mode is one of the best groups of the past 40 years. Dominated New Wave the way Pink Floyd and The Stones or Led Zeppelin dominated Rock
The album Violator is flawless. A masterpiece!
I second that ! Perfect from start to finish 👍🏻❤️
For me, Violator is equal to the Cure’s Disintegration in perfection
Welcome to the wonderful world of Depeche Mode.
“Enjoy the Silence” and “It’s No Good” at the top of my list. 💜
Totally agree Jenny.
@@dlbeal 💜
Violator was genius.
Ageless & Timeless.
Most popular and highest selling electronic band of all time. They're basically the pioneers of this type of music started early '80s had plenty of hit albums and singles. They have so many hits for you to get to
People Are People.
So many good songs....Never Let Me Down, Personal Jesus, Just Can't Get Enough, People are People, Walking in My Shoes, Blasphemous Rumors....on and on and on.
So many GREAT Depeche Mode songs. They are legendary.
Dude, DM doesn’t have a bad song. Any song these comments recommend is gonna be a great song. Don’t just dip your toe into the deep waters that are Depeche Mode, dive in!
Really? The last four albums haven't been any good. They have both plenty of great songs and plenty of bad songs.
Depeche Mode is the only band that has followed me through almost every phase of my life. A young teenager when they were born, they weren’t mainstream and so catered to my feelings of being not part of the normal crowd. Burgeoning EDM mixed with a Pink Floyd-esque ethereal mood and backdrop, their music is always hypnotizing. They helped make those years tolerable. Strangelove was my first crush after People Are People and Master and Servant caught my attention. Personal Jesus; Enjoy The Silence; It’s No Good; Halo; Precious; Just Can’t Get Enough; Stripped; Soothe My Soul
Personal Jesus-my favorite from these guys
Vince left Depeche Mode and started a new synth band called Yazoo (with Alison Moyet) and then after that started Erasure with Andy Bell on vocals.
Oh wow, never knew the connection between DM and Erasure.
Yazoo was the best of all three IMO.
Only you was offered to DM but they rejected it.
All tunes from that album are great. It’s the music they played on their singles tour. I was there 🥰
Bro. They've got at LEAST 100 songs that are absolute bangers.
Damn straight!
Brilliant band.
Shake The Disease is my favourite DM song.
Me too
“Enjoy the Silence” live in Berlin, was a memorable performance.
DM have a huge catalog, ranging from fun synthpop songs (Just Can't get Enough) to alternative rock songs (Walking in My Shoes).
I'd recommend listening to songs from Violator (Enjoy the Silence, World in my Eyes...), which is in my opinion one of the best albums of the 90s.
Great Reaction!
Truly one of the best live bands out there. I’ve seen them over 30 times.
Depeche Mode are their OWN genre. There are none like them.
I was in college in the 80s, and we all went to the clubs to dance every Friday night. This was one of the groups that got everyone on the dance floor. Very moody, and always very recognizeable as soon as the music starts.
Actually my favorite band/group
First time I heard them was People Are People on the radio in the mid 80's as a 8 year old kid.
Thought that was a cool azz song
Then really got into them when I was watching the Arsenio Hall Show and this song was what they played
It was innovative and fresh
Then Found people who had the 101 album after I mentioned this and they let me borrow it and that was a wrap...
Saw them live in Tampa 2004 if i remember correctly
Awesome performance live
Always love to hear Martin's vocals harmonizing with David's.
THE VIOLATOR ALBUM IS ONE OF THE BEST FROM THE NINETIES. THERE IS SO MUCH TO LISTEN TO, LAYER AFTER LAYER AFTER LAYER OF SOUNDS, AND THE POLICY OF TRUTH IS THE BEST ON THE ALBUM. YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO THE WHOLE ALBUM. THE BEST!!!!!
Violator is ageless & timeless
They are my favorite group since the 80s. Their concerts are fantastic. I have been to several. Fly on the Windscreen and Strangelove are two of my favorites, but all are great. I am sure you will become a D🌹M Devotee.
Enjoy the silence is their biggest hit. I think you would like it
The production of their albums is insanely good but what is amazing is that they are so good live too, even if the songs take a different tone and arrangements. You should check them live, because besides their sound on stage, their presence and Dave's charisma live is out of this world.
Welcome to the world of black! 🖤
Depeche Mode is one of the best bands from the 80’s though current.
F-ing incredible band!!
Seeing them live is UH-MAZING! So much energy and dancing along with Dave and 25 thousand others is definitely a VIBE!
IMO : Dave Ghan is our generation’s Freddie Mercury on stage! He OWNS it and the people are in the palms of his hands!
Check out these live performances:
“Enjoy the Silence”
“Behind the Wheel”live in Berlin, if you wanna see THOUSANDS of people going absolutely crazy for Dave’s instruction.
Seeing Depeche Mode & The Cure live WILL BE THE BEST CONCERTS YOU’VE EVER BEEN TO!
Dave always has the crowd going wild and dancing in unison!!
We Depeche Mode’s über fans call ourselves “Devotees”
Dave’s great isn’t he? Never seen DM live 😞 but have seen The Cure….amazing. BTW, love your profile pic!! Love & Rockets album is one I love. So Alive is on regular rotation for me.
@@JennyB28928 Thanks! I’m excited to go see Love & Rockets and Jane’s Addiction in August! I’m certain it’ll be epic!
@@CBGB_1977 Absolutely! Jane’s Addiction, another belter of a band. I’m jealous. Enjoy! 😊
Please check out more of these guys. Especially their early work!
So many great Depeche Mode songs. You should definitely watch a live version and see the energy Dave radiates! ❤
Salvo seems to have enjoyed the non-silence of Depeche Mode, and he probably Just Can't Get Enough, because after all People Are People,
and it's not even a top 3 DM song. just wait until Salvo delves deeper into the discography and comes to realize that they are his Personal Jesus,
it's a real Master and Servant type situation.
p.s. one of my favorite compilation album covers.
I see what you did there 😂
It could just be a Strangelove.😁
🖤❤️🖤
👏👏👏👏
Walking in my shoe is a great message. New music - People are good. Love ballad - somebody.
They really struck gold with a particular sound and stuck with it their entire career.
Depeche Mode are iconic just awesome in concert 🤍⚡️🖤🌹
Dm aren't only 80's ... songs from 90's and 20's albums are great too. Great reaction Salvo i like the way you analize what you listen to
People Are People was their first international mainstream hit in the US. It’s relevant now then it was back then. Brilliant band.
Violator is a masterpiece and a seminal work in DM's discography. Mode 4-Ever. RIP Fletch. 😢
We have VERY similar taste in music, and my second favorite band of all time is DM. Many people offered a lot of great songs (there are literally dozens of Grade A songs), but download Music for the Masses and listen when you have a drive to do. Best driving music in history, and every song is a gem.
I knew the songs "Just Can't Get Enough" and "People Are People" but I really didn't become a fan until I saw the movie Modern Girls in 1986 and fell in love with the song "But Not Tonight" which led me to purchasing my first album of theirs Black Celebration. I've loved them ever since.
I’m glad you finally made it to Depeche Mode ❤️❤️
Reminds me of my high school days, this album is like the soundtrack of my youth. Gave me tears watching you listen and comment on it. ❤
DM has consistently put great innovative music that still sounds amazing. Music for the Masses, Violator, Songs of Faith and Devotion and Ultra are absolutely fantastic
These guys were so so good and so original!!!
Now get in your car with a high end CD player, pop in this album, and BLAST it while you cruise the strip with your windows open and sunglasses on 😎 Man, those were the days!
Great reaction Salvo! To do a deep dive into Depeche Mode is to experience one of the ultimate pioneers in the New Wave genre! So many amazing tracks to hear - and you could start with most (or all) of this album, Violator! Enjoy The Silence, Halo, Personal Jesus, Waiting For The Night...all are must listens. But that was the beginning of the 90's. These guys were mainstays in the 80's as well - Strangelove, Blasphemous Rumours, Master & Servant, Never Let Me Down, Stripped, Everything Counts, The Things You Said, People Are People, then come the rest of the 90's and 2000's - I Feel You, Walking In My Shoes, In Your Room, Precious, It's No Good...they all need to be experienced! Don't stop now. Cheers!
Best Band imo. Much attention to detail in the production. Some recommendations: Never Let Me Down Again (1987), World In My Eyes (1990), I Feel You (1993), Stripped (1986), Strangelove (1987), Black Celebration (1986) ...
You got the RIGHT version imo bro.
It was a tough choice 😂
I grew up with this band and I never quite realised at the time, just how good they were. Still listen to them today, and that's the sign of great music. If you like production, try "Frankie goes to Hollywood". 'Welcome to the Pleasure Dome', would be my suggestion.
'Rage hard'
@@justlough8169 Great Album
My favorite Band in the last 40 years.
Best patreon ever, so much to watch and talk about every day ❤
Hey Maya, good choice. Get this group into the 80’s snd 90’s! New Wave has never been my groove BUT Depeche Mode has always intrigued me. Really different and unique sound. Talented guys.
Thank you Helene!
Been a huge DM fan since college and saw them live during the Violator tour and it was amazing. Violator was their ultimate album their Sgt Peppers if you will. Vince Clark who is the synth wizard for Erasure and YAZOO was a founding member of DM. DM is considered one of the Pioneers of Synth Pop and probably the Godfathers!
Oh, Violator was great, but Music for the Masses is the best, IMHO.
@@timothysassanella272 understandable for sure. MFTM is top notch!
Listening to World In My Eyes takes me right back to the 80s, with the 10s bumpin’ in my mini truck…
Depeche Mode is legit my favorite band! 💜🖤💜 I have seen them in concert twice since 2017, and they're still amazing! Please go down the DM rabbit hole!
My favourite Depeche’s song, but there is a world of greats songs when you dive into Depeche Mode!!! Good journey! Regards fm Brazil
A smorgasbord of sounds 💥
Violators is "the album". Enjoy the Silence must be next. Personal Jesus next. Enjoy the journey.
Oh you’ve hit my favourite band. They can take you up and take you dark, along with some fantastic videos. The Sun and the Rainfall, Enjoy the Silence, Get the Balance Right, Never Let Me Down Again, so many to enjoy. I have a feeling you’ll love them. ❤
I agree with the comments below, DM has so many great songs. One I don't see mentioned is Precious. I has a place in their line up.
Violator is such a classic album!
They're very good live too.
You could spend an entire month on DM and not ever be disappointed!
My number one alltime favourite band. An odd song, and album to begin with, but certainly a popular one. Big rabbit hole here with DM. I hope you explore more.
I love what I think this song is about-About a man critical of his girlfriend. Not because she cheats, repeatedly. But because she keeps telling the truth about her cheating.
It’s a twisted relationship. And he’s telling her that the only way that relationship can work, is if he doesn’t know about what she gets up to.
He mocks her for her false contrition. He doesn’t really care about her, because he doesn’t care about what she does. Only what she tells him.
This whole album is fantastic.
Anyone else here at the Beverly Connection in LA the day the riot happened when DM was at The Warehouse for an in-store? Or see them live at the sold out concert at Dodger Stadium?? Glorious time to be in your 20s!!
Personal Jesus, Master and Servant, Behind the Wheel, Enjoy the Silence... the soundtrack of my 20s ❤️
I was probably 10 when came out and I was into more pop radio songs then. I didn’t care for this or DM for the longest time. Now I’m 45 and they were so ahead of their time. I really appreciate all the various instrumental/industrial sounds they had. The production is amazing. They were ultra cool and it unfortunately took me too long to realize. 😎
Six degrees of separation…how are Depeche Mode, Yaz, and Erasure connected?
Depeche Mode, Yaz (known as Yazoo in the UK), and Erasure are connected through a common member, Vince Clarke. Here's how they are connected:
1. **Depeche Mode**: Vince Clarke was a founding member of Depeche Mode and played a significant role in their debut album "Speak & Spell" released in 1981.
2. **Yaz/Yazoo**: After leaving Depeche Mode, Vince Clarke formed Yazoo (known as Yaz in the US) with Alison Moyet. The duo released two albums, "Upstairs at Eric's" (1982) and "You and Me Both" (1983).
3. **Erasure**: Following Yazoo, Vince Clarke went on to form Erasure with Andy Bell in 1985. Erasure became a highly successful synth-pop duo with numerous hits throughout the 1980s and 1990s.
Therefore, Vince Clarke serves as the connection between all three music artists.
Erasure is still making music too. Very good album a couple years ago
Watch some live performances and witness one of the greatest frontmen of all time.
If you haven't yet, you MUST do Enjoy The Silence. Incredible song. Great reaction!
Ahh.. Yes. ❤
when Rock was the older sibling and Synth/New Wave was the younger sibling, the younger sibling was bullied and dismissed BUT over time the older sibling started noticing the younger sibs had something worthy to say... a story as old as time
❤DM one of the best groups of the 2nd British Invasion. They are obviously darker New Wave/Alt Rock but they are so dynamic. All DM is great. I especially love Everything Counts and Personal Jesus.
Def see them perform live
Niceee one mate ☘️
You definitely need to do more Depeche Mode…start with their earlier hits and work your way toward most recent.
We do we start..... My Fav- "Strange Love" . Older Classic - "People are People" . Most popular - "Enjoy the Silence". Harder sound - " Personal Jesus" Special mentions - "But not for tonight", "Behind the wheel" "Sea of Sin"
A whole channel could be dedicated to Depeche Mode reactions.
Dave is my favorite male vocalist.😵💖
Best 80s band hands down (yes i know violator was released in 1990 but recorded and ready to go in 89). Some other DM classics are everything counts, shake the disease, enjoy the silence and personal jesus. I'd also say you picked the best version. Not the overly long version or the slightly shorter official video one without the final bit at the end, which imo really finishes it off so much better than just a fade out.
Been following DM since the mid 80's - my friend has always been into them deep. More remixes than you'll ever hear regular mixes from these pro's. Music for the masses showed the future for them imo. Speaking of fun 80's bands - B52's / DEVO / Oingo Boingo are among the best.
If you liked this track there dozens more from them just as good. Saw them in concert last year and they still sound amazing and give fantastic energy.
"Never Let Me Down" is probably one of their greatest - but their song "Clean" is pure bliss. Dark and menacing. But I also highly recommend anything of their latest album. It's fantastic.
I bought this for my brother on double gate fold vinyl.
In Europe Depeche Mode has incredible success..... especially in Germany
Exactly perfect analysis.
Depeche Mode "Halo" for the win!
This album still slaps
Depeche Mode best band ever. The album Violator is a masterpiece. If I have to put forward 1 track for you it would be "I feel you" for production value.
Violator complete!
Pls do" cant get enough "of them ure in for a spin 😅❤❤❤❤
Violator is simply one of the best albums of all time, But you can find amazing DM songs from every era. I would recommend Enjoy the Silence or Personal Jesus next. ❤ Thank you!!!
Perfect and strange song!!!
🎉❤
Please do Everything Counts next!! Preferable with the video.
Terry Hoax did a fantastic cover of this. A harder rock version. Worth a listen.
Check out the song and the album 'Black Celebration'.
"I like dark, atmospheric songs"
Then you should listen to 'In your room' from the album Songs of faith and devotion 😊
