I use to use wicked expensive guitars on tour and i got sick of worrying about something happening to them. Now a days the most expensive guitars i take out on the road are around $1200, but i usually also bring out one of my home made guitars as well. My expensive guitars i dont even own most of them anymore, i found that if you spend $1200 on the right guitar, you will be just as happy as a $4,000 guitar. Also these days its amazing the quality of some of these inexpensive guitars in the $250-450 range. When i see people blow $3k on a brand new Gibson Les Paul... i just dont get it... why ? For that $ you could have gotten a killer guitar and still had money for next months rent ! lol

Hey Tomo, I got too curious and had to take the Chibson challenge. I got an Adam jones signature copy… and I was so surprised. I set out with the idea of replacing everything on it with legit parts. When I took off everything it came with, a lot of it was genuine epiphone. But they did a great paint job, inlay work was fine. I replaced the pickups to match the Adam Jones spec. I work in a custom shop so I did all this myself. Replaced the nut with a tusq and precision cut that. Adjusted truss, changed fake grovers for schaller, made a wiring harness and did some proper fret work/final set up. I’ve played the Gibson up against it, and I swear this fake plays better after putting some work into it. It’s not to sell, like I said I was just curious and prepared to take a $350 gamble.
Tone is in the fingers, guitar is ok, congratulations. I bought an FGN LC20 Les Paul second hand two weeks ago. Beautiful guitar. My excuse was, it is an early birthday present to myself. It's my birthday next week.

JFC the tee shirt made me blast dual jets of diet mountain dew through my nose. Thats a very funny dig at Evil Guitar Name Company ;) To help anyone reconcile the "how do they make money" question, a Chibson with Chibson brand hardware wholesales for about 75 bucks when your order about half of a container. So a vendor will make money with a basic setup (sometimes) even with free shipping in the continental US, as long as the guitar arrives undamaged and their setup labor is super brief. As far as the paint job or finish, you should expect something that will initially look nice but be the thinnest paint and for anything that looks like a true master crafted "custom shop finish" you will absolutely get what is called a photo-figure application. Thats a printed picture of a finish glued to the guitar just prior to the clear coat. This is not meant to detract from Chibsons, because they are otherwise straight and true copies of bodies and necks produced often in the same factory as the $5,000 guitar they endeavor to copy. This allows you to at least a good body and neck, fragile but pretty finish, and a platform that lets you piece by piece swap in higher quality hardware as your progress with the instrument. Thats sort of a big deal when you can get something complicated or niche, like Jimmy Page's Black Beauty or anything with a Floyd Rose, or anything with an unconventional wiring layout because those guitars are tough to build DIY/dont exist as kits/often only exist as the most unobtainably expensive guitars. Durability is poor, perfect frets is 50/50 chance, hardware performs in a fashion to be okay but not a perfect facsimile. Computer aided manufacturing gets you the same look, layout, and the ability to upgrade into something that comes very close to an elite guitar IF you are a good enough player to be able to discern the differences. I would even suggest that improving a Chibson would make you better understand how to play the instrument and be more self reliant rather than subject to the builder or luthier/guitar tech (no knocks on luthiers, btw). So the cheep Chibson is good for guitar players that take it for what it is.

I've seen more cosmetic flaws in Gibson guitars over time especially in the past few years (particularly in an ebony-finish P-90 Les Paul that I use to own), and now I have a Chibson P-90 Goldtop that I'm really into. The funny thing is that the $200 product seems on par with the $2,000 product in terms of fit-and-finish and playability. I actually prefer the neck profile on the Chibson than on the Gibson that I had sold a couple years ago. This is what you get when guitars nowadays are CNC on machines instead of being executed mostly by hand in the old days. So it seems that it's really no difference anymore on the manufacturing process (despite some slight variations here-and-there), and it just comes down to price and where it's made. Granted that it may not be "right" for the Gibson logo on the headstock and the "Made in U.S.A." branding on the back of it, but that's what also sells the guitar to make it as authentic as possible. Yes, it's a psychological thing, but there's also a flip-side to this as well: How many so-called "Made in U.S.A." guitars there are out there (including made by Fender and Gibson) that probably are not? Most of the parts are probably manufactured outside of the U.S. and then assembled in America to be tagged as "American-made" guitars. That's not right either. Anyway... Thank you for your video and input, and I love the T-shirt! 👍
How did you tune that so fast the way you did??? Obviously you're no stranger to guitars. Great video btw, I seen that exact guitar on ebay, the Custom shop relic lp.
I have beeb playing guitar for many years so I know those open string sound. Plus I want my students to aware how important to listen those pitches more often! People are relying on the tuner too much! We have incredible skills! EAR! Use it! Thank you!

One of the best feelings is opening or getting a new gutair. The quality of the videos are much better and I'm doing well thanks for asking Tomo. It looks second hand but if it sounds good, maybe it was intended to look that way 😅
I have the exact same model. It has its own mojo. Believe it or don’t. The weight is awesome. They need a little love, intonate, polish the frets, don’t expect it to be a ‘59, love it for what it is, and have ...fun
This always stuck to my mind someone with a $30.000 Gibson les Paul said that low income people would never afford one of these guitars and boy I always wanted one and yes it piss me off. I’ve been playing china guitars all my life and I love them. It’s not the guitar it’s how you play it, I’m 52 years old and I’m not married and I have no kids with a hell of a good trade so yes I can afford a Gibson now but I don’t want one 😆 I’d rather buy a new truck and 10 more Chibson guitars. Keep it up 👍 Chibsons
I have 2 Gibsons and 2 Chibsons. I won't buy a Chibson unless it has a Gibson headstock logo. I'm doing full upgrades on both with the best parts I can get. Still waiting for a few upgrades before I begin, like the Gibson TP-6 gold tailpiece. I just can't afford to pay $10,000 for an SG or $6000 for a LP.

Thanks so much for sharing! You're very welcome! Thank you!
EAR! Use it! Thank you!
@@TomoFujitaMusic Yeah My old ork Mate ,who Taught me about Guitar was a guitar Teacher on the side , He Taught me too Tune a Guitar the same Way ,Using your Ear
That laugh from 7:27 Hahahaha XD
Ha ha
One of the best feelings is opening or getting a new gutair. The quality of the videos are much better and I'm doing well thanks for asking Tomo. It looks second hand but if it sounds good, maybe it was intended to look that way 😅
Great to hear!
How do you make that kind of funky mute strumming?
Thank you! I have more detail lessons at my Guitar Wisdom.
Love your videos!!! Just wish you would plug the guitar in after you unbox so we can really hear the tone! We love you Tomo!
Thanks so much! So great to hear that.
I have the exact same model. It has its own mojo. Believe it or don’t. The weight is awesome. They need a little love, intonate, polish the frets, don’t expect it to be a ‘59, love it for what it is, and have ...fun
Enjoy~
How could I not;)
Wow, that guitar looks incredible
Thanks!
This thing is awesome. What is the branding?
Thank you!
why did you not plug it in? It might be a great test if you change the PUs and compare to an expensive one. i bet you re gonna be surprised 😉
Normally I made two videos. 1) Unboxing 2) Demo video
Thanks for sharing!
Anyone tell You lately that it is just Enjoyable to Watch and Listen to your videos ? Well, it is !! 2 thumbs up if I could !
So happy to hear that! Thank you so much!
Thanks for sharing.
Don’t worry
Don’t compare
Don’t expect too fast
Be kind to yourself

Why would anyone down vote this? Great video Tom.
Thanks!
Thank you, I was curious about those guitars, especially the LPs. The price is almost impossible to accept, there gorgeous but are they foreal..
You're very welcome! Fake!
I want to see you finish your kit amp!
Thank you!
Where's the follow up video of this guitar?
I made it and I didn't post it.
Very fun, Tomo!!! You made my day :) :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love the Chibson t-shirt😂😂😂
Awesome!
11:48 Wait a minute, wait a minute...you can go anytime, I just enjoy...HA!! Love that!
Thank you!
you have had a new guitar for a week and not opened it. You are a stronger willed man than I.
Funny! You said that... Good guess! Another box just magically showed up!
And where is the link to buy it?
No link! Highly not recommend to buy this!
Judging by the amount of new guitars Tomo is buying I think he has won the lottery... 😂 😂 😂
Ha ha!
Interested to find out how the electronics behave and the pickups sound
Okay
I have 2 Gibsons and 2 Chibsons. I won't buy a Chibson unless it has a Gibson headstock logo. I'm doing full upgrades on both with the best parts I can get. Still waiting for a few upgrades before I begin, like the Gibson TP-6 gold tailpiece. I just can't afford to pay $10,000 for an SG or $6000 for a LP.
Thank you for sharing! This guitar has a Gibson Logo and no truss rod.
No truss rod?! That can't be good. I haven't even checked mine yet. I desperately hope they do !!! Now you've got me worried.@@TomoFujitaMusic
Right! Super cheap and fun! Not great. Remove that cover!
Yes. Thanks, and I will. Fingers crossed!🤞🤞@@TomoFujitaMusic
Very enjoyable! Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
