@JamilaMusayeva I know your video is 11 months ago BUT what does etiquette say about someone who is left handed or even ambidextrous. I drink with my left hand and my son does as well. We are right hand dominate but it feels weird to drink with my right hand. Are there exceptions to etiquette for left hand dominate or ambidextrous people?
One time a large group of my friends went to a fancy restaurant and the waiter didnt come take their order for a whole hour. They were discussing this aloud when a kind fellow customer informed them that they should try closing their menu. As soon as they all did, the waiter came to take their order.
As someone who is trying to be the best version of herself, I’m so glad I have you to teach deportment and manners. You’re the most helpful etiquette teacher I’ve come across, thank you so much for the effort you put into your videos, your followers and I appreciate it very much. I would love to watch the wine pairing and choices videos if you do make it. Thank you Jamila! Love and respect from India
My husband was fortunate to inherit 19c china, crystal, and silverware. When we have dinner parties, elderly friends know the bone marrow spoon, the fish knife, butter knife, and various spoons, etc. it is such a joy to "dine" at one's own home with linen table cloth and napkins and candle light. Such times are diminishing but why? These experiences are very special, romantic, and induce good conversation! People quaff, gobble up, eat fast, and do not dine. Dining is an experience itself! We can advance and enjoy modernity AND retain vintage styles! Thank you for educating us on etiquette!
Lady I’m so thankful for your etiquette videos. They’ve helped me become my best version! I rewatch them and learn. Loads of love and blessings to you💕
You strike me as someone with authentic class that's not just for show. I was actually expecting you to be a lot more pretentious, but I was totally wrong, and I stayed for a lot more of the video than I was expecting. Keep it up!
As a girl living in an South east asia country, I find this video interesting and informative even though in my country we simply use a pair of chopsticks and a spoon. You're lovely and the way you deliver your message is graceful. Thank you.
Just came across this video today. I am glad I was raised with manners however, watching you is an inspiration for my day to day as nowadays we don't see etiquette being emphasize that much. Please bring us more of your elegant style and keep inspiring the world. Congratulations on your channel.
Learned a lot while literally got water in my mouth.. Jokes apart, when it comes to etiquette I can blindly follow Jamila. Thank you for such an amazing session. ❤😇
Hi Jamila, thank you always for these dining videos and please consider making a video around sandwiches especially the ones with a lot of stuffing in them.
Smooches Jamila 💋..... I am an etiquette girl myself and I must tell you I have learned so much and I am going to watch this again. Anything good bears repetition..... Brilliant!!!! 💋
I do have a question.... I noticed that you mainly eat with your fork facing down . I am American and I've never seen that before. Is it because it is a more elegant way to eat or is that a European style?
I just wanted to thank you very much. I really appreciate what you have taught me... I love the table manners etiquettee teachings and I hope that it will come in handy in my simple life. I think you are a wonderful person and thank you for all your help. It has help me in so many ways. A remembrance of my ancestors.
Good vid i always enjoy watching ur videos very calming and usefull, beautiful content from beautiful classy lady. I wanted to mention 37:37 here that if u r a muslim its only okay to eat the food with ur right hand and not the left so most of us use the american way even if its less classy or requires lots of movements or we just precut everything in the plate keep the knife in our left hand to collect the food on the fork then continue the same way
I love you and your content Jamila! It has helped me become more elegant which i always wanted to be i will continue to watch your videos to become even more elegant💗💓💞✨🌸🌷
First of all your videos are amazing and really helpful . And I have a request that you also make videos about eastern dinning etiquettes as well , because as an Indian I have seen many non- Indians trying Indian food and most of the times while eating Indian food one have to use their hands , so many people don't know how to eat it properly and they ends up eating it in the most improper way possible for example using both the hands , which is not acceptable ( for some exceptions) . So please if you could make a video about it .
😃 FANTASTIC!…. Unfortunately, especially Here in The USA, Etiquette and Polite Manners have become as rare as Good Credit. Both of the basics were far more customary until the end of the ‘ Baby Boomer ‘ era and traditional family gatherings occurred around dining room tables.. Nowadays, witnessing Others eating in public is like watching a Viking feast.
I’m glad u mentioned the part about using the inside of the napkin because I also hate the idea of putting my napkin on the chair that hundreds of butts have sat on. The pants or dress I’m wearing for that dinner is much cleaner than all those butts!! Thank you for the reminder
So grateful for your videos. Would also love to see the video on wine pairing that you mentioned. Thanks for your constant commitment to delivering these informative etiquette videos.
Thank you for a wonderful video ❤️ I love that I see non round plates. I have always been labeled as messy plate eater, meaning my plate is a mess when I'm eating 😆 I have reduced movement in my plate (I don't drag food to other places in my plate, I collect food where it is placed in my plate ☺️) and it worked for me ☺️❤
Hello Jamila! I've been a dedicated viewer of your content for over two years, and I truly adore your work. Thank you sincerely for generously sharing your thoughts and knowledge online. Your content has become a valuable reference, significantly raising the bar for my own behavior and how I let people into my life. I find myself in a much better, happier place now compared to 2-3 years ago, and your success has undoubtedly played a part in that journey. :) Last year, I enrolled in your online course. I love how it gets straight to the point, is beautifully shot, and I'm eagerly looking forward to more courses on your website in the future. it's a bit embarrassing to admit but there is one thing I still do wrong and I just don't know how to fix it. Certain foods, like groats, rice, and finely chopped vegetables, are very challenging when trying to follow the correct fork-holding technique. I wonder if I simply need more practice, if the meals could be served more conveniently, or if a different approach is needed for these types of foods. It just all falls down from my fork. I often see people eating these kinds of food using forks like spoons, and I give up and do the same thing. Since now I am aware it's poor manners/ incorrect, I always feel embarrassed even if I am home alone and no one can see me. It would be incredibly helpful if you could create another video specifically addressing how to eat these and other challenging foods correctly. Your content is invaluable to me, and I can never get enough of it. Thank you once again for your inspiring work! Marianna
Thank you soooo much Jamila, you've helped really alot. A nice thing about your videos is they're planned, and good for beginners. It covers all essentials. So perfect for practice. Again Thank you ❤
Wow I learned many things like the creamy soup and the difference of liquid soup how to scoop it, and how to lean on when you put the food inside your mouth and also the handkerchief 😊 . Thank you so much Jamila ❤
Thank you for posting this video! What do you do if you can’t eat a particular dish? For instance, if you are allergic to something or don’t eat something for religious purposes, how do you let the host or hostess know about that? Alternatively, if you simply don’t eat something and it isn’t for allergy or religious purposes, how would you address that?
Thank you for making this video Jamila and for explaining everything. I love learning proper social skills through videos like the one you have here. I will definitely apply these skills for dates, dinner parties that come alongside professional business meetings, and other events. I learned a lot from you and I appreciate you and for what all you do. Kind regards, Carmen.
Hi! In America, there's a restaurant called OutBack Steakhouse. It always makes me laugh (inside) that I do not get a salad fork for my salad. Instead, I get 2 main course forks. Thank you for these videos. I am also a new subscriber to your Patreon movie club. I love it.
Take a small bite, use your tongue and lips to take the food in your mouth and don't let the teeth click against the utensils. Chew well in a normal pace and swallow. Smaller bites help a lot!
Yes please Jamila! I have been looking for a great wine video as I dont drink often, and sometimes feel confused about wine and types of wine and which wine goes with what foods! Thank you so much! ❤
Thank you so much! I'm going to multiple events and Christmas/ New Year's parties. This video was a great Christmas gift for me that would be very helpful like your every other video ❤ I wish you a great start into the new year!🎉❤
I love your Videos Jamila! They are so helpful, especially since my family never really cared deeply about etiquette. I would love to see a dedicated Video for wine and how to hold glasses properly. Again, thank you so much for educating me. Happy holidays to you!
I am a left handed person but I naturally eat with the fork in my left hand and the knife in my right hand. Are there any other Europeans here in the comment section who are left handed and picked it subconsciously up?
I've learned a lot. thank you very much. no wonder the waiters kept coming around asking if I am okay. I would get annoyed. I prolly was miscommunicating... hehe
Thank you vey much for your generous knowledges. Could you please tell how to keep the wrist during the dining, we always arguing with my friend, she said the wrist must be lift and never touch the table and in another source I heard the wrist should be in the table.
Thank you very much for the video, always so nice and instructive. I still have a question: where should we keep our handbag? I never know where to put it.

Buffet breakfasts and buffet dinners: what to do when wait staff do not clear dishes and do not replace cutlery? How to be refined eating at a buffet? Thank you!
Since you used the salad knife for the hummus, did they bring you a new salad knife or did you clean the knife with your napkin and place it back in the table?
Jamila, thank you for reminding all of us about proper etiquette when dining. Do you suggest women go to a fine dining restaurant without lipstick and just place it on after being finished?. I really hate to leave my lipstick on the napkin or my 🍷......but I must have full make up on for this event.
Jamila, could you please make a video how to blow the nose properly if this happens, or is it possible to scratch a certain part of the body, for example, the corner of the nose, if I can’t stand it during the meeting in a restaurant I.e.?
Thank you Jamila for this video, I always enjoy these kind of videos so much! Just one question, I'm left handed, I was taught to use the fork on the left hand and the knife in the right hand, as right handed people, but what about the spoon? It is ok to change the spoon to my dominant hand? I don't think I could eat a delicate food like a liquid soup with my right hand whithout spilling it everywhere.

Good lord. 😂 the waiter might have guessed the issue and at least came and asked if they had questions about the menu.
😂😂😂
😮😮😂
Closing a menu and ordering would be hard for someone with short-term memory problems.
Omg as a former waitress I can already imagine how the waiter felt while waiting for your orders 🤣🤣🤣
