11:14 With how loud and "in your face" Mordred is in Fate, it's kind of hard to imagine her as a more quiet background character. But when Tristan in LB6 lists the Knights of the Round Table (as he knew them at their prime), he gives Mordred the epithet "taciturn", so Fate Mordred also knew how to not stick out, when she chose to. 14:38 There may still have been some kind of prophecy involved in Mordred's Fate backstory. In Enkidu's second interlude, Mordred mentions a prophecy (without elaboration) among the other important factors in her life. Not sure, if this is elaborated on anywhere else.
My guess is that Mordred was a fairly quiet kid with a subdued sense of self due to being raised under Morgan's thumb. It was only after warming up to the Round Table after a few years that she developed the personality that we've come to know in an attempt to express herself and win Altria's approval. Obviously she failed and the results of that were tragic for everyone but the attempt itself says a lot about her given her circumstances.

Best Tomboy(Sorry Arthuria), She is charismatic, even with her failures; Being the "I am your servant, but I can kick you ass" type makes her fun; Her story on Fate is very interesting; And of course, she carried me during the singularities and Epic Of Remaint until I get Arthuria. Also, honestly I think her and Shishigo is the best master/servant duo on Fate Franchise.
I think the reason its never braught up that there half siblings is cause none of them want to aknowlege it as that would require aknowleging there mother. Wich you think there mutual hatred would be a sort of bonding experience fore them but its more likley that as they hate Morgan, they hate anything to do with her and so dont want to aknowlege each other as siblings, maybe to avoid unecessary drama ore cause they...just flat out dont like each other all that much with the exception of Gawain and Garath wich is why they have somwhat of a sibling bond but not with any of the others. Altaugh I could imagine this as a fun episode in somthing like Grand Carnival where Fairy Morgan forces them all into a famaly dinner with Ritsuka there too as the father. Ore the hole thing was Ritsukas idea to strenghten the bonds between her Servants
Though it is notable that Lostbelt Morgan has quite a different, and more positive view of the "Orkney Knights" than the Proper History Morgan did. Lostbelt Morgan seems more likely to actually get along with her "children" than her counterpart.
Also I feel like it’s good to mention that her summer version is a lot more care free and since there is no more responsibility she gets comfortable as a girl and with romance.
Also i dont Know if its me but when i looked at summer mordred and then took another look at og mordred i felt like saber mo is just, kinda tired comparing to her summer counterpart? Like yeah saber mo is also very energetic but she seems emotionaly exhausted when you compare it to her rider self.
another thing when it comes to Mordred's NP it can only be activated if she takes off the helmet/ deactivates Secret of Pedigree so it works in a similar way to Berserker Lancelot's Knight of Owner
One of my favorite concepts for Mordred is if she had succeeded in her rebellion and became king of Camelot. I came up with two, along with which class and her summoning to Chaldea: - Pretender: Leans into the "clone" and admiration for her "dad". Realizing that she couldn't initially handle the responsibility, she invokes the image of King Arthur to make it easier. Eventually, she herself thinks and becomes Artoria. When summoned, she's basically looks like Base Artoria's third ascension but red and slowly becomes herself while still maintaining her dad's image (first ascension Artoria but with Mordred's head). She still has identity issues, moreso if she is just another Artoria or her own person. - Mordred, the last King of Camelot (class undecided): a what-if of Mordred from Apocrypha who, through some timey-wimey loophole bs, goes back moments before the rebellion began. She succeeded in pulling out the Sword of Selection and challenges Artoria in battle. She wins and becomes worthy of inheriting Excalibur, and inheriting the throne. She ultimately tries her best in extending Camelot's reign but it dies a slow, agonizing death. When summoned, her look resembles a draconic version of the Lion King. While the people of Camelot thought of Artoria as a tyrant, they saw Mordred as one in the kingdom's dying days. Her third ascension is more regal and knightly, and her demeanor is mature and kinder. She acts like Chaldea is her long-awaited vacation after all the stress of her responsibilities as King.
Additional notes (because I'm doing this thru my phone and not my laptop): - All the Round Table Knights are weirded out by Pretender King Mordred. This also includes Artoria. While she does look similarly to her dad, there's an uncanny valley that they notice about her, like someone wearing their King's skin and acting the assumed identity. The way she speaks is also very strange. A twisted version of how Mordred thinks Artoria would speak but obviously through the former's bias. - [The Last King of Camelot] has two Noble Phantasms, *Excalibur Mordred* and *Round Table: The Golden Age.* Excalibur Mordred is just Excalibur but red. That's it. Round Table: The Golden Age is her summoning her memories of the Round Table and the specters of the knights themselves, including Artoria. It's used as a last resort and with each specter's defeat, her memories of them disappear.
This actually reminds me of something. There's a tabletop RPG in the works by a company in Europe called "The Winter King." The basic gist is that it's an alternate universe where Mordred survives the Battle of Camlann and takes the throne, and the game basically revolves around the players having to deal with his forces. If I were to run a game of it, I would be tempted to integrate Fate's version of Mordred into the storyline in some way. I had two main ideas about it. Mordred as a villain: The party ends up encountering Mordred at some point, expecting Mordred to be a man, only for it to turn out that she's a woman. She looks at them, smirks, holds up her sword, yells "Clarent Blood Arthur!" and the party wakes up in the castle's dungeon or something. She would then end up being the main antagonist. Mordred as a hero: I actually had a couple of main story ideas about this one. Either the party is captured and hauled into a dungeon, where they meet Mordred in one of the cells, or the party hears rumor of a mysterious knight, fully clad in red and silver armor, fighting off the evil king's soldiers. If the party goes to investigate and help the knight, it would be revealed that the knight is none other than Mordred. Either way, she would explain that the Mordred who has been behind everything so far is a pretender to the throne and to her name, and that she would offer to work with the party to reclaim Camelot. If they succeed, I would love to have a scene where the party accompanies her to the Sword of Selection, where she would finally draw the sword from the stone and properly take up the throne (Hey, as I said, it's an alternate universe).
Cigarette Lion is called that because the Sisi in Sisigou (pronounced like Shishi) is one or the words for lion in Japanese. Could also be a connection to the lion king but mostly Sisigou
Interestingly enough when Arturia went to France it wasn’t to chase down Lancelot it was to actually establish diplomatic connections with the Western Roman Empire due to Britain technically being a brake-away state of the empire the Romans had been applying diplomatic pressure to Britain so Arturia brought most of her knights as a form of gunboat diplomacy to basically tell the Romans they can either be allies or enemies this apparently worked as she does end up in Rome during the Garden of Avalon
B-? I’m honestly kinda surprised with that rating, I was expecting at least a B+. Modded in fate is easily one of the best characters as she not only honours her lore but in some ways enhances it. But I can respect the rating she got all the same cuz I know we all love our precious tomboy.
I just learned something about mordred According to Geoffrey of Monmouth Historia Regum Britanniae and the Vulgate Mort Artu and the Post-Vulgate Mort Artu, Mordred in fact had two sons of his own, who are either killed who are killed by King Arthur's successor, Constantine or lancelot I wouldn't be surprised if fate decided to add them in
I dont think they would add any children for mordred, gawain also had children and wife/wives. Gareth was also married but in fgo gareth and her wife reduced to being friends and were not married. But even though so, it is possible for them to use them as inspiration and reference for an original character or a character that is related to either mordred or her mother.

what i like about the relationship between lostbelt morgan and the phh knights is that for ''her kids'' she calls them splendid knights, but its rather shocked when she sees mordred, on how far her counterpart went just to get the throne, i would like to see them interacting, since despite not being her mother, is the face of the one who made mordred who she is, the root of her scars, lb morgan wouldnt go ''as far'' to get the kingdom for herself, but is shown to be quite loving towards baoban, i would like to see how she would treat mordred
actually the first time we encounter Mordred in the series is in the 2006 Deen anime, during a flashback there was a scene that was anime original if i remember correctly in which Mordred actually has a speaking role also according to some sources Mordred in Arthurian legend actually had a wife and child, of course seeing how Mordred in Fate isn't even 10 years old that's kinda unlikely to still hold true
@@CrazyYurie as a Mordred connoiseur i can confidently say, no, unless there's some obscure one on exhentai or something but not even hitomi had anything like that
Secret of Petagree actually keeps working if she takes her armor off, preventing the foe from remembering her face. That said she has to discard it's effects to use Clarent Blood Arthur.
I still don’t understand why Arturia left Camelot at Mordred hands after that outburst. Was it to make things slightly right with her? It wasn’t because she was the only who could do it, Bedeviere was still around.
Clarent Blood Arthur actually refers to the fact it dealt the final blow to Arthur (Arturia) after her death to Arturia's lance.... before it hit arthur, it was still Clarent.
One thought I had as to why Artoria would leave Mordred as regent of Camelot in her absence, even after the "sour note" that their previous interaction ended on, could have been that it was Artoria trying to subtly show Mordred that she _did_ trust and care about Mordred, but had other reasons for refusing to allow Mordred to become her heir. This would make sense, given Artoria's personality and how she viewed the duty of being King. As Artoria very likely rejected Mordred as a possible heir not out of spite or hatred, but because Artoria wanted to spare Mordred from having shoulder the burden of Camelot's throne, but she didn't know how to properly connect with Mordred even knowing that they were related.
i like fell asleep while watching this and woke up in the middle of the night to Mordred on my screen and thought "oh sh*t oh f*ck" cause that was just kinda hangin there when i was sleeping and somebody namely my mom coulda walked in and i thought that was funny and felt like sharing
10:09 to emphisize that sibling connection they would all have to acknowledge Morgan as their mother and they would rather die than do that. Only time any of them ever acknowledges Morgan as their mother is to basically say "This is the b!tch that gave birth to me. She is, in fact, the worst."

To be completely honest, Mordred might be the most relatable character in Fate for me personally. I get never quite feeling like you fit in, feeling like nothing you do will ever really be good enough for the people around you, not being quite sure of who you are supposed to be. To a lesser degree than Mordred, I get that feeling of not really being what your parents expected you to be. I even get the Mordred's issues with gender, as my own relationship with gender is complicated and bit confused. Because of that, even though I don't agree with some of Mordred's choices, I feel an immense amount of sympathy for them. They'd probably be my favorite Saber if not for the fact that, for sentimental reasons related to how I got introduced to the franchise in the first place, Altera wasn't already my favorite
She's very relatable to me too for many of the reasons you mention. I struggled quite a bit with finding identities that I could call "home", but eventually just ended up deciding to follow my own path and to not care what to call it. As for Altera... Fate/Extella? That's where I first met her. :D
@@CrazyYurie Exactly! I was in a Gamestop in early 2017 with a just enough holiday money to buy one game, so I decided just to look around and buy the first thing that caught my eye, which wound up being the Extella collector's box. The art and character designs really grabbed my attention. So I bought it, and jumped in pretty much blind. It was confusing as hell at first, but I had a lot of fun. But for some reason, Altera's route really hit me emotionally, and convinced me that I NEEDED to learn more about this franchise, which eventually lead to it being one of my favorite franchises ever.
When I first watched Apocrypha I thought Mordred and Shishigou were the protagonists and when they died I stop watching for I think like 2 months and then came back I just didn’t watch it the same
Fate's version of that story is among the weirder ones, tbh: Merlin acts as a "cock wizard", then Morgan gets ahold of some of Artoria's "juice" to make a clone. The versions where Morgan and Arthur just do incest is comparatively straight-forward.
How does Gallahad work well, in Fate Lancelot is more considered a womanizer than in the myth where he only had eyes for Guinevere. He had Gallahad most likely very early on (17,18y) So the story of being assaulted would fall flat, cause his affair with the Queen started after she was married to Artoria. Lancelot is 3 years older than Artoria making him about 38 when he died. He said that he fell for Guinevere when they started to spend more time together because both wanted to lessen Artorias burden. So technically Gallahad can be at least around Mordreds physical age.
Hay guys I think I know why the fate version of Mordred is stronger than OG Mordred is because she traded her brain for bronze it’s all making sense now 😀.

Morgrid and Gawain I am mostly looking at. They look like bad he man knock offs and that's being nice. Or am I crazy?? They look dull and plastic like? Let's be real what other anime can you say the swords suck in? It's rare and the other fate weapons are usually rad dad. That's all I got.
With the understanding that I haven't done the full research dive into all of the weapons the Round Table knights used just yet? It varies. Excalibur was noted as being exceptional, so there's nothing odd there. Rhongomyniad though was just a normal lance. Gawain's Galatine is noted as being comparable to Excalibur. Mordred's Clarent was a Ceremonial Sword. Galahad's sword was notable and found itself stuck in a stone like Excalibur, but we don't even have a name for it. From there my knowledge gets more hazy. x_x
Fun fact: In arthurian Legend, Clarent is way stranger than Excalibur, making the main reason Mordred won against Arthur, Mordred was way weaker compared to arthur, basically in legend Mordred is a normal human in terms of strenght and speed, and Clarent buffed him to be on Arthur level This really shows how skillful Mordred was bc he hangs out with literal monsters like Arthur and other knights that are equally super human and make them fear him in battle, again he made people that can fight at mach speed fear him Also, It's a shame how unjustified Clarent is in fate, Clarent sould be A+ at least
Clarent gets a debuf in Fate. It is supposed to be the sword of a king/sucesor of the king but Mordred stole the sword so it's rank gets reduced and it doesn’t give the stat buffs it would normally give to it's wielder. Tho I agre it should be an A rank since it is compared directly to Caliburn (It is normally a B rank but gets reduced to a C in Mordreds hands)

Yes cigarette lion is a direct reference to Sisigou, they like tying back fan favorites to their former masters
The mention the relation to other round table knights but they REALLY skim over them which I think is probably right rather than making it all a really confusing family
I really appreciate the characterization we get of the apocrypha servants like Mordred and Fran being lightning buddies
I'm running out of comments other than good job, you started great but you have even improved from there
11:14 With how loud and "in your face" Mordred is in Fate, it's kind of hard to imagine her as a more quiet background character.
@@kylepessell1350My guess is free bird syndrome, aka "I never had any freedom in my life so now that I have I don't tolerate anyone trying to control me in any way" complex
“Hey, the more muscle is in your head, the tougher it is!” - Mordred, Halloween 2023. I actually really liked Mordred appearances in Tristan’s and Enkindu’s Interludes the most, probably.
Best Tomboy(Sorry Arthuria),
She is charismatic, even with her failures;
Being the "I am your servant, but I can kick you ass" type makes her fun;
Her story on Fate is very interesting;
And of course, she carried me during the singularities and Epic Of Remaint until I get Arthuria.
I came up with two, along with which class and her summoning to Chaldea:
- Pretender: Leans into the "clone" and admiration for her "dad".
Additional notes (because I'm doing this thru my phone and not my laptop):
- All the Round Table Knights are weirded out by Pretender King Mordred.
- [The Last King of Camelot] has two Noble Phantasms, *Excalibur Mordred* and *Round Table: The Golden Age.*
Excalibur Mordred is just Excalibur but red.
Not to mention his hair kind of looks like a lion's mane.
It varies depending upon the version of Arthurian Legend.
B-? I’m honestly kinda surprised with that rating, I was expecting at least a B+. Modded in fate is easily one of the best characters as she not only honours her lore but in some ways enhances it. But I can respect the rating she got all the same cuz I know we all love our precious tomboy.
Mordred in fate: a skilled brutal warrior
Mordred in myth: the most pathetic of the knights of the round
Pitiful is the word I'd use.
Lmao the Jeanne and seig diss
I just learned something about mordred According to Geoffrey of Monmouth Historia Regum Britanniae and
the Vulgate Mort Artu and the Post-Vulgate Mort Artu,
Mordred in fact had two sons of his own, who are either killed who are killed by King Arthur's successor, Constantine or lancelot
I wouldn't be surprised if fate decided to add them in
Indeed. Though... with how time is already crunched down in Fate's version of Arthurian Legend... do they even exist here?
I dont think they would add any children for mordred, gawain also had children and wife/wives. Gareth was also married but in fgo gareth and her wife reduced to being friends and were not married. But even though so, it is possible for them to use them as inspiration and reference for an original character or a character that is related to either mordred or her mother.
They should go with the entire homunculus cloning by using Mordred's remains and use as backup tools
I think they will go with the entire homunculus cloning route again by using Mordred's remains that could work, right?
@@roseannsandel3865 Maybe? But what kind of personality and features would these characters even have? There are so many other characters to add ahead of them too.
Time ta watch something I've been waiting for.
Also if for whatever reason we get a fate prototype adaptation I would like ta see what would proto mordred look like and how would he interact with his phh counterpart.
Mordred being a great governor is both surprising and understandable
Mordred is interesting because the reason why in Canon Victoria rejection them cuz they do not believe they are fit to be a king but if you look at their personalities and skills they're just her but more is there cold and calculated but they're highly passionate but basically everything altoria wasn't at least at the time and because of that the thought never crossed your mind to try to train Mordred to being a fitting King
One of her appearances that will give her something more than a passing account will be in the Arcade Collaboration event. I will just say that she gets to have actual interactions with Lalter.
Mordred is my favorite saber
what i like about the relationship between lostbelt morgan and the phh knights is that for ''her kids'' she calls them splendid knights, but its rather shocked when she sees mordred, on how far her counterpart went just to get the throne, i would like to see them interacting, since despite not being her mother, is the face of the one who made mordred who she is, the root of her scars, lb morgan wouldnt go ''as far'' to get the kingdom for herself, but is shown to be quite loving towards baoban, i would like to see how she would treat mordred
I too would be very interested in this.
Also Mordred hates being called a woman also have a simpler explanation. Women are considered weak and being compared to them makes you look weak.
Love the video, but I would have mentioned Summer 1. There, we kind of see a toothless version of the relationship between Mordred and Artoria.
actually the first time we encounter Mordred in the series is in the 2006 Deen anime, during a flashback there was a scene that was anime original if i remember correctly in which Mordred actually has a speaking role
also according to some sources Mordred in Arthurian legend actually had a wife and child, of course seeing how Mordred in Fate isn't even 10 years old that's kinda unlikely to still hold true
In some versions, that wife actually is Guinevere. o_o

Absolutely love Mordred she's tied as my favorite servant and has been since the first summer event, hell she's the reason i watched apocrypha
i wonder if someday there is going be an aggravain or gaeris servant in FGO.
It's been years since the Camelot Singularity, so it's rather unlikely for him to become available in the game. But I'm still waiting for Aggravain.
Can you do penthensilea ?
PS:love the concepts of this series, thanks yo
Yay! The Great Merlin is next! That should be a fun one. Merlin is a loveable a-hole.
Got to roll Mordred with 12 tickets and 30 saint quartz. The tomboy likes me!

10:09 to emphisize that sibling connection they would all have to acknowledge Morgan as their mother and they would rather die than do that.
Only time any of them ever acknowledges Morgan as their mother is to basically say "This is the b!tch that gave birth to me. She is, in fact, the worst."
Siblings can hate their parents and still get along. I've seen it first-hand IRL.

Oh,this is my beloved wife.

Give it to Morgan to bone King Arthur in the weirdest ways to give Mordred
Fate's version of that story is among the weirder ones, tbh: Merlin acts as a "cock wizard", then Morgan gets ahold of some of Artoria's "juice" to make a clone. The versions where Morgan and Arthur just do incest is comparatively straight-forward.
Meanwhile in the Fate Route: Shirou: I am the bone of my sword

@@CrazyYurie Oh okay. Sorry my bad.
Yeah, I definitely prefer Mordred to Artoria both in design and personality. An her lore is as equally as tragic as her father's is.
How does Gallahad work well, in Fate Lancelot is more considered a womanizer than in the myth where he only had eyes for Guinevere. He had Gallahad most likely very early on (17,18y)
So the story of being assaulted would fall flat, cause his affair with the Queen started after she was married to Artoria. Lancelot is 3 years older than Artoria making him about 38 when he died. He said that he fell for Guinevere when they started to spend more time together because both wanted to lessen Artorias burden. So technically Gallahad can be at least around Mordreds physical age.

yo it's here let's go
Can someone help me out, or say I am wrong.... So Excalibur though we often don't see its true form unless she is killing a spaghetti monster controlled by a perverted French men.
I think it's safe to say it's bad ass looking. Even if pretty simple for such an epic sword of Legend.
But the rest of the round fools weapons are all mega trash right?
From there my knowledge gets more hazy. x_x
my wife
Fun fact: In arthurian Legend, Clarent is way stranger than Excalibur, making the main reason Mordred won against Arthur, Mordred was way weaker compared to arthur, basically in legend Mordred is a normal human in terms of strenght and speed, and Clarent buffed him to be on Arthur level
This really shows how skillful Mordred was bc he hangs out with literal monsters like Arthur and other knights that are equally super human and make them fear him in battle, again he made people that can fight at mach speed fear him
Also, It's a shame how unjustified Clarent is in fate, Clarent sould be A+ at least
Is it just me or does this give me he-man vibes which not gonna lie is pretty cool 😎
So...
Tomboys or femboys?
Or perhaps...
Something else?
B-? Lol definitely not. More like C-. Imagine the task of making an accurate Mordred for school. Fate Mordred is definitely not a B in that respect.
What adjustments would you make, if I may ask? :o
