As a writer I have learned some things from your videos. You have taught me to see the bigger pictures involving my characters. I print out things such as, pictures where they live, what those places look like, and I have to tell you...this has really gave my characters growth. So my point is, even though we are in two different careers...you are reaching us that use design in a different way!

You mentioned how difficult concept development can because it’s what sets the tone of the whole design. Is there any way you can make a video of how you go about creating concept boards? Your setup for the board and what the best way to execute something to a client would be? Maybe show us concept boards of previous projects and then show some images of the final project to see how you managed to show the client your direction with the concept board you started with in the beginning? We don’t get taught too much on concept boards at school.

I am not in the interior design field, but I enjoy watching your videos because the way you problem solve areas in your field is similar to what i do in the software development (software as a service) field. Enjoy learning more about your process.

Rising early is a must!! I started waking up at 5 am consistently about 2 years ago and it was a life changer. I had more energy and felt so much better, even though at times I was really tired. I stopped drinking coffee and managed to do design school full time last year without it. I know, it sounds crazy, but it can be done. Good luck Karin for 2019!!

Seriously love your content! Some intentions I have set for myself for this year are like you, to get up early every morning and take time to myself whether that is reading/ working out / listening to a podcast or doing a devotional or journal writing. Just to spend that first part of my morning slow and with myself to get my mind right for my day. Another is to practicing being grateful and joyful each day and truly living for that day instead of getting caught up in the thoughts of future plans. And another intention is to be more conscious and intentional with my spending as well as I am trying to cross off the goal of home ownership this year! Sending love and light to you and your team all the way from Nashville, Tennessee!

Oh my God at the end when you said ‘let yourself rest, take a break, let go...’ i cried. I let too much workstress into my life. I was always good at saying ‘No’ and good at time management. But the last couple of months it All blurred. I find myself ‘recovering’ at home with My worklaptop on the couch with the tv on. And also scrolling through Pinterest and IG, That’s not recovering! And something i’ve never done! But somehow... And that sentence you said did it for me, i felt it. Thank you for your Words.

Love it ! I’d love to see a video on studio direction/project coordination/ and to see which software or standards you use to keep track of project timelines and project tasks. That’s the biggest challenge I have - being both in charge of project coordination and design (drawing baseplans/elevations/ Demo plans proposed plans etc) is taxing but it would be so much easier if I supplied myself with better team management tools

♥️ I want to do more things that i enjoy
♥️ I want to take my self on more dates, spend more time with myself, at home and outside home, because im awesome, and i should appreciate that more.
♥️ I want to be grateful for everything that i eat.
♥️ I want to learn to appreciate the moments in life that are not perfekt.
♥️I want to be kinder to my self, in actions and words. My break taught me to listen to my self, and to take things slower.

You have at your disposal, the means to incorporate IT into your business.
Use the TH-cam equipment in your business.
How you ask: on follow up meetings with clients, send the camera crew to a follow-up meeting, taking live video feed of client concerns and a detailed property shot for reference and work data.
Meet initially with camera and client so a comfort level is established. Then explain how the camera crew will be your future contact with the projects and the contact individual.
Adapting to the use of FaceTime.
You are making the correct moves for sustainable development and growth.
Now it's time to be a leader in your field, using technology.

Looks like you made a wonderful choice taking that R&R; regrouping & starting back w/a new mindset;5am is early😄but amazing! The girls didn’t seem quite as enthusiastic😆maybe do a wknd retreat with them sometime!? Did you literally have no contact w/the ofc that whole time? Or how did you manage that to keep it from spilling over/stress free? Also, I’d
love an explanation of how all those photos printed out represent a direction/concept to the client. Esp when they aren’t images of specific design ideas but words, colors, guy on a bike, etc.

I love your videos. They’re so real and inspiring and have a much different tone then most entrepreneurship videos on TH-cam. I definitely connect with the taking rest time. I’m December I started my own business while working at my current job which, although is part time is still demanding and some work has to be done outside of work hours. On top of that I had to pull some extra weight as my dad was out of commission over the holidays due to health issues. I felt like I was juggling a lot but I was determined to build my business up so that I could either quit my part time job or scale back my hours. All my hard work paid off and I will be working less hours at my part time job so I can have more time to devote to my clients and to building my business. It was a real ambitious task doing that in only a matter of a month but I was so determined. Fast forward to January and I was completely exhausted and burnt out. Since the projects I’ve been booked for my business don’t official start until February I’ve taken some time to get my sleep schedule back in order and practice some much needed self care after hustling so hard over such an intense period of time.

How do you get your employees to have the courage and confidence to disagree with you? Watching you three go over the design inspos let a small light into the seniority difference within your company. You can tell which employee had been there longer by the way they spoke up.

I have noticed a trend among working women, also backed up by university studies. After 35 our energy and ability levels start to decline. Look around, you don’t see the same number of women working in the age groups of 18-35 Vs. 40-55. Women are nurturers not stress managers. We can only take so much. I know lawyers, high executive business women, the corporate world, who get out of the high stress “golden handcuffs” at 40. Getting into it and achieving spectacular goals is not fun anymore. So we are bouncing. Another reason to marry wisely. Don’t entertain “menchild” who need a forever roommate.

Wait how did Kelsey become Sr. designer before Kay? Wasn't Kelsey a project coordinator in May of last year? Not hating but curious really...

What if you said, "yes" to a project you were not keen on and something amazing happened because of it? Has that ever happened to you?
