Some great patterns and approach to practicing here! It's quite easy for me to forget to push myself while I am teaching 5 days a week and doing all the student repertoire. You are a fellow guitar teacher so you know the excuses :) - Gabe
Hi Elmo, I started doing your 15 min excercise a while ago. Later on, I dropped it in favor of scale runs etc as I wanted to learn some scales as well, but what I kept from it is the habit of practising consistently, and with a metronome - thanks!
@@MrPolevaulter Yes, especially after starting doing it with the metronome, there was a very clear external metric of progress. I was doing only the first example of the exercise, however, with ascending frets which obviously didn't help me with the problem of lifting fingers of the strings in time that I've been having, which was one more reason to switch to up-and-down scale runs. In this case, beside the results in terms of ever increasing metronome speeds, the side effect was that I could play the songs I was also practicing better. I was trying the same approach with banjo rolls, but unfortunately here the progress seems more elusive.
TFW this video is posted while I'm doing my daily practice. Edit: TWF 2.5 hours a day everyday lately and yes I'm improving so much but also days become so short lol
I played without a metronome for 20 years, the last 21 years i did no need it! But you are right to practice with one of this wonderfull help. 😊
Elmo is right again. 5 minutes a day does not seem like much, but more often than not it turns into 30 min jam in C# diminished.
C#diminished is the best 😂

Did you see results?

Not enough hours in a day 😀
During practice be sure to turn off reverb and delay. Listen to the sound of guitar in your arms. Cheers.
I use delay. Doesn't bother me. Sometimes I do practice without an amp though.
Try the gear4music amp
Subzero? Just bought it.
First
