    Always make sure to keep your sandpaper oiled. I use the gun oil that I use on my firearms on the sandpaper and that works well. I sharpen, and restore knives as a hobby. I use whetstones and everything else so I definitely know what I’m talking about here.

    Would i be able to let my barrel sit in vinegar over night? Or is that unsafe?

      Yes but make sure the inside is covered completely.

      On an ALL STAINLESS BARREL ONLY, and overnight is too long. A couple hrs then rinse with water with some baking soda to neutralize

    Don't use water, use oil when sanding. It will look like a mirror.

    I000 grit sand paper with gun oil. It will remove the black finish and leave the barrel the nice silver color with zero swirl marks. I've done it many times.
    I've even soaked the barrel in vinegar, for like 4 hours, then rinse and use 1000 grit sand paper. Works every time.
    I wouldn't go lower than 800 grit sand paper, that's when you start developing swirls and marks

      Is that sandpaper soaked in water or sandpaper soaked in oil?

    I polished mine just with a rag and mothers. Mind you that was 12 years ago. Haha. Now I just use a dremel. Really doesn’t take much longer without soaking in vinegar. Comes off pretty easy. Even with a rag. You can get a barrel done in a hour or two.

    I tryed it worked perfect but I put foam earplugs in the ends of the barrel while it was soaking seemed to work real good just in case

      It honestly doesn't matter if the "finish" is removed from the inside of the barrel. It's just the black coating. It has zero effect on the barrel.

    🚨Do not use vinegar 🚨

      Why?

    • @AVH8TOR
      @AVH8TOR ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As long as you plug the barrel. And you use the vinegar just enough to get the coating off it’ll be fine. I’ve done it on numerous pistols and I shined them so well that they’re slicker than a warm knife through butter and this was over five years ago, and still no rust.

      @@AVH8TOR have you polished a glock slide? if so how did you do it

    0000 wool is really fine they actually use it to remove contaminates off polished chrome. Just saying. Just keep the surface sprayed with soapy water.

    All I do is polish with a microfiber towel. Watch a movie to kill the time. Takes a long time but I wouldn't put acid/vinegar on a gun barrel.

      @THEZOMBIEBUNKER  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely, the 3000 grit gets is so smooth it dont take much at all to get the shine.

      THEZOMBIEBUNKER I did a Sig vid similar to yours and I lost at least one sub...He got his feeling hurt. I guess I should have put a warning out to all the SIGsitive viewers. Mine was a joke as well but i never downed the Sig company...And I had other guns than Glocks in the video.

    • @THEZOMBIEBUNKER
      @THEZOMBIEBUNKER  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I only have a handful of subs and probably did also. Got to stick with what you believe in though. At least i can anyhow because ive never made a penny from youtube. I do the vids because i love firearms and interacting with others that do.

      THEZOMBIEBUNKER I agree...I'm not in it for the money...I love guns as well and if they can't take a lil joke then oh well...It was fun for me.
