just gonna sneak in here and clear a common online trend misconception: most food is processed! especially tofu is a good example of highly processed food. it's literally just food going through a process. boiled pasta is processed, baked vegetables are processed. It's not an inherently bad thing for you, and it's a pretty toxic part of online diet culture (but i know you don't mean badly!!)
@RiyaPunn like i said, processed does not equal bad for health. It's what online diet culture wants you to think. obviously packaged snacks and ultra processed (emphasis on the word ultra) sugars like candy are bad for you in high amounts
@RiyaPunn Well just eat what you normally eat but healthier, if you are worried about what's processed and what's not you'll make yourself deficient of the nutrients that you need, just eat healthy and as the original comment said, processed doesn't equal unhealthy
i feel like most plant based protein foods are highly processed. imo it’s healthier to be pescatarian than vegan/vegetarian, but of course, everyone is free to eat what they want!
Via, matcha caffeine is very different from coffee caffeine. Matcha caffeine is healthy and not linked to anxiety. Additionally, matcha is packed with antioxidants, including L-theanine, which is excellent for focus and attention (especially for those with ADHD). You can have your morning matcha, girl! I’ve realized that most plant-based proteins are just regular processed foods, and eating “in natura” ethical protein is much healthier. So since I started eating fish again, my health has improved SO MUCH. It’s a clean protein source, packed with the necessary fats. There’s no other way to get the fats attached to the proteins, especially during winter. And not depend solemly on milk and eggs. (P.S. I’m a medical doctor and currently doing a master’s at the University of California, San Francisco.)
Via, processed food is almost everything we eat, unless you want to solely eat fruits and some vegetables. In laymans term processed food is not raw meaning it has to go through a process so as not to eat in it's raw form. The yogurt you take is processed, down to the tofu, to the bread and even the oats you take everyday they are all processed cause they aren't in their raw form!! Just find out what food your body doesn't agree with cause almost everything we consume is processed as long as it has to go through a series of processes or just a single one which might just be preservation process. Hope you catch my drift cause i feel that this is all over the place
hey via i love all the food it looks literally gorgeous and i didnt know that that you and lindsiann were besties i love both of you guyses content so much ahhh and now we have a miny coop. it is so important with the little talk about food and that everybody is diffrent and just cause sth works for you doesnt mean it works for everyone. thats for the food inspo and im obsessed with you ahh. all the best and love you all
via your videos are always so comfy and really cheer me up somehow, you’re seriously my fav channel here right now! 🥹🫶🏻 one question though, as a girl that want to start doing more exercise and going to the gym at least 4x a week in 2025… what’s your routine? or like, how did find the best routine that fit you?
Hi Via!🤍 Just wanted to thank you for what you said at 13:11, when I was a bit younger that's exactly how I felt after watching these type of videos (not the creators fault! Just how my teenager brain interpreted things) and you saying this really means the world, such a small thing but it can make a big difference for anyone in a more susceptible phase
seeing u mention the fact the what we eat is different from each other and if we even eat the same food our bodies will look different, sometimes its hard to understand that so thank you for mentioning it, ily via
Hi Via, idk if you’ve looked into blood sugar but I learned that oatmeal with plenty of fruit tends to spike your blood sugar. When your blood sugar spikes and later drops back down you feel super hungry and can make you crave sugars. When your blood sugar drops it also makes you feel fatigued. One way to combat this is by balancing your oatmeal with protein. Love your videos you’ve been my comfort TH-camr for the entirety of 2024🥰🫶🏼
you mentioned if take out was like appropriate for this kind of video and absolutely gurl like I just wanna see what you eat it doesn’t matter if you make or you eat out or even if it’s takeout cuz that’s life sometimes I won’t have the energy to cook or go out so take out is the best option and that’s real…anyways I loved this video and hope to see more what I eat in a week videos 💗💗 happy new year💗💗 it was great to have you Via✨✨🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾
Hi Via! I'm happy that your anxiety lessened with a reduced caffeine intake. If it was my comment and others like it that made you decide to reduce it, then I have some more tips. You can have a sweet spot with caffeine where your anxiety doesn't increase or increases minimally. For me this is about 100mg but it varies person to person. Here's something your doctor won't tell you: Vitamin D deficiency can cause anxiety (and depression), it's commonly referred to as seasonal affective disorder. About 40% of american adults are vitamin d deficient. But when you go to your doctor they won't mention anything about this, and they indeed won't suggest a blood test or taking vit d3 supplements which are super cheap. Here's something else that your doctor won't tell you: People often think about anxiety and other psychological conditions like depression as something that originates from within, like childhood trauma. This can be true, but it's actually often false. Your diet, the foods which you eat, can influence these conditions. Sugar, sadly, is the number one culprit. Here on TH-cam you can listen to thousands of anecdotes of people healing severe anxiety or depression just by changing the foods they consume. What is also important to understand is that anxiety, and other conditions, can be caused due to one or multiple triggers. You could have anxiety due to psychological trauma, and also due to caffeine intake and also due your diet at the same time. Therefore, it may be the case that you need to fix multiple root causes as opposed to just one. If you do some research you will read or hear about conflicting nutritional facts all the time. For example a study concludes eggs are healthy, and then the next week another study is released stating they are not. It was only a week ago that the FDA added eggs to their list of healthy foods. So what's critical to understand is that our experts who create these guidelines are often wrong. They should not be trusted, instead you can trust your body. Fats used to be demonised only a few decades ago. It used to be thought that dietary cholesterol increases blood cholesterol, but now we know that's also wrong. Red meat, eggs, full fat dairy products, etc. The list of foods and nutrients are long. You tried out reduced caffeine and your anxiety lowered and that's great! I encourage you to do more testing with zero caffeine and then adding it back incrementally to see how you feel. You can find your sweet spot this way. The same goes for sugar, seed oils, grains and other foods. Another commentator stated that most food is processed. That is indeed true, the majority of food you can get from your supermarket are Ultra Processed Foods. As Max Lugavere recently said to the US senate: "If your grocery store has a health food section, what does that make the rest of the store?" There's just too much to say so I'll end it here. I wish you well and good luck!
Thank you for the lovely vlog! Just a side note, I think it might be beneficial to use a wooden or silicone spatula vs metal if you're using a nonstick pan!! And wooden chopsticks 🥢
Thanks for the video! I'm def gonna try out the tofu pancake recipe. Would you be interested in doing a video of budget friendly restaurants in NYC? I find that a lot of the good restaurants are so expensive (I understand that inflation is driving up prices, but there are tons of other socio-economic reasons behind food insecurity that I will not get into).
hi via! just wanted to let you know watching your content is so comforting, its like talking to a big sister 🥹im also chinese living in America,, also vegetarian!! streak of 7 years! 🌱🥹🫶 thank you for posting thiss, love u lots ! (๑>ᴗ
hi via! I don’t really like the mic, I miss videos where you didn’t have it. Anyway I love you so much and you have helped me probably the most out of anyone.
Via, please, do a sequence to your other video "why you need to chase your dreams (a very honest 2023 reflection)" about 2024 for 2025. It really helped me chase my dreams in 2024 and I bet helped other people too. By the way you are awesome!
Spent enough days in disguise, dreaming of what could've been me, Every moment hazily spent in daydreaming, thinking what I'm becoming, The one day I dream of, is a eternal lie My optimism is a blessing in disguise, But I'm growing tired of these dreams Done with playing as people I'd never be I'd never be not broken, The A glass once shattered have last pieces Cracks and crevices no glue or time can heal My chest is growing heavy, I don't wanna feel. So I started living passively, a passerby in thy own life, The passerby happy for everyone, but has no one, Scared and afraid, so I choose a pen everytime,A brush instead of a knife. But I'm afraid, time will pass me by like a speck of dust Unsignificant, unloved, broken and hushed, There are few things I wish I to do, no, some thing I must, Impulsive, treacherous, everytime it was myself own self, My own hands that crumpled my dreams, I still have enough time, I know, but none to trust, afterall it was my own hand muffling my screams, Half a decade spent in a haze Thrown in random rooms with keys and no doors No map no signal and an endless maze, The more I resist the waves, further I'm swept away from the shore. 'My dreams are just dreams' I'm a quiet kid with a parent like abusive mind that Uncontrollably screams, I chose to walk the hard path, but my feet are anchored to the ground Looking around for a push, people pass by, I stay silent enduring, for my mouth doesn't make a single sound.
girl i love you but please tie up your hair when cooking. we do NOT stan hair in the food lmao. other than that you look lovely as always, im for sure trying the oatmeal recipe!
