What Next For DC Video Games - Rocksteady Back to Batman? Move Away From Arkham?

I'm concerned about the future of WB Games and in particular DC games. Once the pioneers of the video game superhero genre. Now I feel like they've been left behind. Marvel games are streets ahead licensing out the IP where it makes sense and getting incredible games as a result. Meanwhile with WB games current approach we'll be lucky to get more than 2 dc games in the next 5 years. Let's talk. Should rocksteady make another arkham game.

Completely agree on giving more studios the opportunity and license to create more games. Every team or studio has their specialty. Give us a little of everything. Even indie teams could do some amazing things but I’m sure the licensing pricing would be the biggest issue.

Yeah, having seen reports on disneys licensing I can’t imagine WB being generous either but yeah, I think it’s time to see some collaborations with outside studios

Imagine a Question game made by Telltale or a Deathstroke game (featuring Damian, Katana and Talia) made by Team Ninja.
i truly think they should do just like lucafilms, as you mentioned, and at least every 16-18 months a game like this, not AAA for sure, but there is a lot of potential.

James gun did say that he wanted games for his universe, so maybe we are getting Creature Commandos, Authority and similar groups with a scope similar to Asylum or this next wonder woman game

I think (for as much as I love James Gunn) he doesn’t understand games are a lot harder to develop than movies in terms of timelines. It’s not to say it won’t happen but lining up movies with games is a recipe for disaster, I’d love to be wrong because it could be sick

Kind of they released close but they weren’t planned as actual tie ins , if gunn wanted a superman prequel game , it’s hard to make that in time for a movie, games development now has become hugeee

They will likely go back to Batman (it’s a winning formula) let’s just hope it’s Batman Arkham beyond so there’s way more potential for innovation on what’s been established.

If anything why not a green arrow game I mean he's almost like Batman with the same type of Mo gadgets and money it could have A day/night cycle because he's not limited to nighttime Different arrow types for different effects and gadgets I feel like it could work because it's the closest to what they're used to

I’m with you ! That’s what I mean with crystal dynamics and green arrow , imagine what they learnt with avengers + tomb raider, would be amazing. Rocksteady could easily pull it off too! I hope we get a green arrow game, the CW show proved he can be popular

If they decide to make another batman game. Have it set in another universe. And not in the arkhamverse, i see arkham knight as the true conclusion

Batman sells like crazy so I get why they would but yeah I hope we see someone else be the focus
