This is why you have the entire court assemble and have everyone come up one by one to swear oaths in sight of everyone.

I interpret the political point as this: all forms of any country's constitution are not worth anything if there aren't people willing to defend it. However, if there are enough people in a society that wish to defend the principles of that constitution, THAT COUNTRY NO LONGER NEEDS A CONSTITUTION, OR A GOVERNMENT!
If everybody demands such principles in their society, giving a small group of people all the power, and then writing them a piece of paper instructing them what rules to follow in creating their society... that goes against all logic.
If people do not want what is in the constitution, then it is a bad document to begin with, if the people do want what is in the constitution, they already have the principles OUTSIDE THE PIECE OF PAPER.
No need for the state, no need for the constitution, people can make their own choices, form their own societal rules.

Bingo. There only needs a principle : the NAP (Non-Agression Principle).

If no one have it written down there is no agreement on what principles they agree to.

“Forgive me, Khaleesi. But your ancestor, Aegon did not seize six of the seven kingdoms because they were his birthright. He had no right. He seized them because he could.”
It is why as much as i hated the lannisters, i could respect the game and why i disapproved of stannis’ rigidness with renly and robb.
