Grohl had Max Cavalera provide vocals to the song "Red War" on his metal project album, Probot. Clearly expressed genuine appreciation for him and his music back then even.
Sepultura was destined to be the biggest Metal band with Metallica of the '90's, but those damn jealous attitudes stop that. What a shame. I love Cavalera Conspiracy, sounds great but Sepultura was something so unique and powerful that it will be impossible to have that band back.
Imagine you’re at a Sepultura show in the 90’s, and you’re in the pit and someone elbows you really hard in the back of the head and you go “what the hell?” and you turn around to elbow them back and it was Björk that elbowed you in the head
Ironically, Sepultura planted the seed of Nu Metal sound, so bands like Slipknot and Korn could work on this thier music for the upcoming years, whereas Max had to star over with Soulfly, and Kisser pimped the name of "Sepultura", but I always felt Sepultura could've done another record, more impresive, more experimental and more creative than Roots, unfortunately, Dana Well's death had a tremendous impact on the Cavaleras, especially Max, who was forced to leave after Andreas Kisser kicked jealously Max's wife, Gloria, so he can be the "new leader", of the band. People talk crap about Max's wife, and even Max, not knowing that at the time they lost an important member of the family, those " friends" those "band-mates" like Kisser and the bassist, Paulo Jr decided to stab them in the back for money and greed. Why do I know this, I knew Max, and he was just sincere about everything, and I know how difficult is to keep your life, when the shocking death of an important family member just stops you.
As much as I respect Max and the Roots era of Sepultura, you got all the influences wrong. Max was a huge Korn fan at the time, he started wearing adidas, dreads and Sepultura went on to record Roots specifically with Korn's producer Ross Robinson at Indigo Ranch - the same studio where Korn recorded their first two albums. They even used the same guitar amps and settings as Munky and Head. Roots was still groundbreaking at the time and has now become a timeless classic, but without Korn and Ross, this album (and the Soulfly debut too btw) wouldn't exist today.
I never thought Björk would be a Sepultura fan! Awesome!
Bjork once performed with Skunk Anansie ... She's a metalhead
@GaryOK plus she started out in out in the anarcho punk scene
This is why I love Björk so fucking much!!
My proud of being Brazilian keeps alive thanks to Sepultura
