I agree completely agree and I theorize Randy not Stu will be somehow revealed to be involved I base this on 3 clues first Stu should’ve killed him on the couch in original he was one of the only remaining people in the house then billy shoots him in the shoulder from 10ft away and my last evidence is the fact Randy was a film major in sequel so he could’ve conceivably faked that overly bloody death I love his character and Stu was the best part of original but everyone is expecting Stu I would love a twist that would blow peoples minds plus his sister is married with twins so maybe that will play into it also I think the opening kill should be a flashback to Maureen Prescott’s murder with a hint that a third person was there who could’ve schooled billy and Stu on murders than Randy maybe they were friends earlier in life

they kinda did something like that in scream 3 were Sidney walked onto the set of the first movie walked into her bedroom set and could hear billy and Stu's voices she was remembering conversations she had with billy and Stu in the first movie
maybe Stu's house, which by now has a legend & infamy about it similar to Nancy's (Nightmare on elm street) house, has a "murder house" effect (american horror story reference) to it. alot of bad energy was in that place at one point, & alot of blood was spilled there in one night. of course this would cause the film to veer more into supernatural territory, but american horror story has shown you can mash slasher/supernatural together, if it's written well.
@@shadymercury I think that would cheapin the plot. The best thing about Scream was always the killer being a random person that everybody knew but never suspected. Meaning that anybody can snap at any given time, with any given motive; It's never a ghost or a professional serial killer, it's just some fucked person doing the murders for revenge or fame. If you put supernatural aspects to it, it takes away the pseudo-reality of the franchise.
Maybe the new Characters will go to Stus House, cause they want to see the place where it all begun. Then the Killer comes and kills them and Sidneys goes to the House to save them.
Let piggy back off of what @Ben Slashes says. New characters go to the macher house, see where it all begins. However, what they don’t know is. The killer is actually living there. Maybe in the attic where Sidney fell out’ve. Killer (who i believe is stu who could’ve survived the tv falling on his head. I’ll explain shortly) decided to reenact ALL OF the killings , from steve oarth, to the very last kill of the original movie. In that exact order to relive the thrill. Makes a “movie” new characters have a party at the macher Sidney , Dewey and Gale finds their way over. It’s a show down all over again. They save the last few surviving kids. And then boom, another killer is there surprise surprise. That last killer. I say it’s KIRBY.
Maybe the house has new owners and there’s a party and the new ghost face wants to recreate the original kills and Sidney ends up there, ya know. So Stu doesn’t necessarily need to be there but, I’d love for Mathew to come back.
Two completely independent killers with different motives would be interesting af IMO. Imagine watching two ghostfaces try to undermine each others plans.
It would be cool to see a ghost face attack or quite suddenly betray another ghost face. Lol imagine 2 ghost faces trying to slice each other for a few minutes 😆
My best guess is the final confrontation is at that house with the new killer or killers. Somehow a “face your fears” kinda thing. Obviously they know about the events that happened in the first movie. Everybody does at that point so maybe that’s what it is. Maybe the house burns down or something too idk. Also she could receive a call that says “go to where it all began” or something that would lead her to the house
Theory: One of the new younger cast moves into Stu’s house - discovers information on a third killer / someone tied to the murders which was never uncovered this information gets to the unidentified killer who has to return to kill anyone who knows - Sydney is brought back once she hears about Dewey speaking with the victims around the fact the motive for the murder was regarding something they found but was killed before being able to expose this - Gail going in to make sure she finds out this key info whilst Sydney brought back out of curiosity of this but to also make sure this killer is stopped as soon as possible - Maybe the newer cast who finds this out confides in their boyfriend / girlfriend and close friend(s) and the boyfriend / girlfriend is involved in the murders and had to dispose of them and cover their tracks 👀
Possibly. A while back, there was an ALLEGED leak that the plot would revolve around a character returning to their hometown to investigate a new series of murders, and that would fit your theory perfectly. Who knows though. Even if that was a "legit" leak, they have multiple scripts made as security to keep the actual film plot from being leaked

It was about a year ago now that I had heard this, so I could be getting details wrong, but I heard this alleged plot leak about some character coming home to help solve a series of murders, weren't many details besides that, from what I remember. But like I said, who knows what it could be or if it was even truly legit
@@jaysarandrea It wasn't a leak. It was the movie's synopsis that was given to the media about what the movie will be about. They always give out a vague synopsis. They don't say who the person returns is though. It could be Sydney, Gale, Martha, Kirby or a new character. But it wasn't a leak. It was a synopsis. But sometimes especially with horror the synopsis can change between production and release because of rewrites.
It could be someone obsessed with the murders bought the house and is either going to make the house into an attraction or trying to recreate the murders possibly even trying to do a documentary. That's my theory.
Technically there was if you've seen Scream 3, Roman reveals he orchestrated the original killings and mentored Billy and Stu for revenge against his mother Maureen who told him she only had one child before slamming the door in his face when he showed up on her doorstep, he may not have contributed to the rest of the killings but he was involved
If that is in fact, Stu Macher's house, I'm leaning heavily on there being flashbacks going on. The things that can be paired with that is possibly either the house is currently abandoned and the new killers' home base is based out of there or the new main/final girl actually happens to live in that house now. You know, say the Macher's moved out after what happened. Bonus: Had they gone with the original idea for Scream 3, Matthew Lillard's little background appearance in Scream 2 could have actually been Stu stalking Sydney.

Please forgive the long response. But yeah it was Marley Shelton And no disrespect to your fourth theories but I don't think any of them are correct. Based off of who accidentally leaked the tag, Marley never actually shared a scene with Skeet having Part 4 be the first movie that introduced her So why would she tag him in the first place? What I think is going on is two things: One is obvious and one not so much, the surprise, if you will. Recently a cast list had revealed the last names of several of the new characters including Dylan mignettes which is Hicks. His character's name is Wes (in honor of Wes Craven, So clearly he's not going to be a throwaway character of any kind.) Hicks (as in Judy Hicks the character Marley Shelton plays in Scream 4). Marley had a very interesting peculiar scene in part four that they never got back to where she revealed to Sydney that she was very familiar with who she was from high school and Sydney disregarded it not really recognizing her at all. Clearly they were using that as a red herring but why did they never come back to it? And why didn't we find out in part four that she had a son? I mean, look at the actor. I think it's pretty clear that Judy Hicks was probably in a secret relationship with Billy Loomis during the year that Sydney was not having sex with him and she had a secret teenage pregnancy because that would add up to his age now. Kyle gallner also kind of let it slip that there was going to be more than one killer again but what if there's actually more than two? So my theory is the obvious one being that Judy Hicks and her son are the duo killers that bring Sydney back to Stu's house to make it go full circle and complete what Billy was trying to at the exact same location he was trying to do it. Sure, Marley would accidentally tag skeet but this is part five of scream and this is not certain crew and cast members first rodeo there's no way that they would let that leak unless they wanted it to because of... 2, the secret third killer. I think they are trying to distract us purposefully with Stu's house and the leak of Skeet Ulrich because there is a better surprise they have in store for us. Dare I say, someone we know? Perhaps this third killer is actually trying to kill the other two killers even? But after 25 years they've got this secrecy script thing down on lock by now. I don't think these are necessarily accidental "leaks". They've never done a flashback before and I don't think they'd start now, ghosts didn't exactly work out for part 3 with Sidney's mother and And there's no need to bring back suppose a dead characters. If they haven't done it yet they're not going to do it now. But clearly they've got something special in store for us and I don't think it's what we're talking about. I think it's likely that Ghostface lures Sidney back to Stu's house in a "Back to where it all started" final confrontation... Sidney at this point I don't think will cower away, she has history AND the blood of the new batch in this movie has been spilled and so she is gonna run right into his/her trap.

Speaking of being haunted and also including Dylan Minette, whos in the movie. They should have Billy and Stu haunting Sid and giving her pointers on what they would do. Kinda like the scene in the Netflix show 13 Reasons Why, where: SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Clay is sitting with Monty and Bryce's ghosts in the classroom during the school shooting episode. That scene was amazing and the best of the series. It would kind of being an endearing way to, like you said, honor them, while not in any sort of condoning way. But they would be able to be comedic and dastardly, etc. Just constantly making her second guess herself, but also think like a killer and solve shit. Anyway, I think Dylan Minettes character in this might have a name thats an anagram. I've said this in like 3 other vids about Scream 5, but his name is Wes Hicks. Which could be rearranged as H Sew Sick...H'sew Sick...He's So Sick. I donno, pretty dumb everytime I type it out lol, but I was thinking maybe the fact his name is Wes, which is clearly an homage to Craven, was similar to how Billys name was an homage to other horror legends (Halloween and Psycho's Loomis characters). Although his name is an homage to fictional horror legends, whereas Wes' name would be an homage to the director. It was just something that made his name stand out. Was the whole homage thing. Like from trivia I'd known thats what they did with Billy, and how they named him. @@michaelkelsay4559, Stu was almost in the scream 3 original script. He was in jail, orchestrating teens to commit murder. But Columbine happened so they scrapped it and decided to change the script. Anything is possible. Stu could return.

(Especially in scream 2 where his cameo appearance happened.) I could totally see dewy being behind everything and even framing a now innocent and reformed Stu ala psycho 2. (I got a list of things that happened that point to Dewey like his 2 survived attacks, his comment to Gail in 2 about her book, when Randy asked him about his limp and then Randy dies, and how did Roman get information that would have normally only been available to a private investigator or police officer such as Maureen Prescott’s name change.) and I don’t see how Randy could have survived because we saw him all cut up and dead.

I think the way u described the way it should play out is precisely what kind of shock factors I expect maybe randy faked his death in sequel u never actually see him literally killed it’s possible he’s a film major with the same skill necessary for pulling of his overly gory death in sequel so bloody no one checked his vitals body switch somehow with recent victim. based on the set pics that we got during filming, I can see them pulling a time travel twist a la Avengers: Endgame in the sense that the killers will revisit places from the original to recreate the murders of Billy and Stu.
I think there will be a cliffhanger where we dont know who the killers are yet till the 6th movie because they need to continue the story again somehow

The thing is, when you flash back to the people from your youth, you picture them as they were then. Your mind may try hard to picture them as hey would be in the current day, but it would fail. I hope they don’t go this route for that reason. It just won’t be believable.
I'm all for flashbacks. Y'all remember in Scream 3 when Sid came across the movie set for Stab & she came across her "old room" & she remembered her & Billy's conversation about their relationship. Tbh it would be interesting to see her remember more things like hypothetically what if there was an alternative ending to the first that us viewers are just now going to see. What if she only imagined herself killing Billy & Stu or what if something in her mind snapped that made her think she was being "stalked" by a killer but in reality she was the killer
Stu's house now has the kind of infamy & legend quality that Nancy's (Nightmare on Elm Street) house has. It is a "character" all on its own. A wild thought I had is: A lot of blood was spilled at Stu's house in one night. Tatum, Kenny (Gale's camera man), Billy, & Stu all died here. With so much blood, & so much bad energy, will Stu's house taken on a "Murder House"-like quality? (American Horror Story reference). Just something I wonder about. I love when long running franchises aren't afraid to reference & revist past locations from previous films. I'm truly curious about Scream 5, but I'm concerned bc this will be the first film in the franchise without Wes Craven, & I'm worried for Sidney & Gale as characters. Both of them have outlasted many of their "Final Girl" peers w/out any retcons or "new timelines" & we know that slasher films historically do not allow their final girls to carry on without at least ONE "death" interrupting their run.
I think the killers will be jack quaid and jenna ortega and Jack quaid will be sidneys son she but up for adaption, think about it the pieces make sence, he is billy son who was created in the original scream , also jack quaids age matches up.

if i was them i would just do like halloween 2018 and ignore the sequels (although scream 2 is my favourite) and make it a direct sequel to scream. i know billy is dead at the end of scream and stu as well but i would just ignore that and have them survive. its decades later, billy and stu have been incarcerated for all those years and sidney now works for the fbi. a copycat killer starts a new wave of killings and sidney has to go see billy or stu in jail to find the killer. i know this sounds just like silence of the lambs but if they can bring that type of grittiness to the scream films that would be great. if done right it could work. i would rather them do this and take a chance and give the fans a decent film with new ideas than have them repeat the same thing they did for scream 3 and scream 4.

If its a relative of any of the original characters that we haven't seen before, then that would be a huge disappointment. If Stu lived and was running a cult that would be bad ass.
I think it’ll just be in it, because a new family are there. Because: 1) Stu won’t still be alive as that would just be dumb. He’s dead as disco. 2) I don’t buy that Sidney would have to go there because she has unresolved issues. The version of Sid we meet in 4 is basically over the trauma of it all. She’s a very different Sid to the first film. So to have her now be needing to confront demons or PTSD would require some heavy regression of her character. What it could be... a new killers’ fascination with the original events inspire them to make events happen at the old house. An homage from the new killers.
I think this will be another film where Sydney doesn’t live there, but is lured back by killings. The house may be involved here. With Sydney lured back to Woodsboro. Perhaps returning to a copy cat murderer trying to kill Sydney in the same house Billy and Stu failed to do so.

maybe Stu's house, which by now has a legend & infamy about it similar to Nancy's (Nightmare on elm street) house, has a "murder house" effect (american horror story reference) to it. alot of bad energy was in that place at one point, & alot of blood was spilled there in one night. of course this would cause the film to veer more into supernatural territory, but american horror story has shown you can mash slasher/supernatural together, if it's written well.
@@shadymercury I think that would cheapin the plot. The best thing about Scream was always the killer being a random person that everybody knew but never suspected. Meaning that anybody can snap at any given time, with any given motive; It's never a ghost or a professional serial killer, it's just some fucked person doing the murders for revenge or fame. If you put supernatural aspects to it, it takes away the pseudo-reality of the franchise.
Maybe the new Characters will go to Stus House, cause they want to see the place where it all begun.
Then the Killer comes and kills them and Sidneys goes to the House to save them.

Let piggy back off of what @Ben Slashes says. New characters go to the macher house, see where it all begins. However, what they don’t know is. The killer is actually living there. Maybe in the attic where Sidney fell out’ve. Killer (who i believe is stu who could’ve survived the tv falling on his head. I’ll explain shortly) decided to reenact ALL OF the killings , from steve oarth, to the very last kill of the original movie. In that exact order to relive the thrill. Makes a “movie” new characters have a party at the macher Sidney , Dewey and Gale finds their way over. It’s a show down all over again. They save the last few surviving kids. And then boom, another killer is there surprise surprise. That last killer. I say it’s KIRBY.

My best guess is the final confrontation is at that house with the new killer or killers. Somehow a “face your fears” kinda thing. Obviously they know about the events that happened in the first movie. Everybody does at that point so maybe that’s what it is. Maybe the house burns down or something too idk. Also she could receive a call that says “go to where it all began” or something that would lead her to the house
Theory:
One of the new younger cast moves into Stu’s house - discovers information on a third killer / someone tied to the murders which was never uncovered this information gets to the unidentified killer who has to return to kill anyone who knows - Sydney is brought back once she hears about Dewey speaking with the victims around the fact the motive for the murder was regarding something they found but was killed before being able to expose this - Gail going in to make sure she finds out this key info whilst Sydney brought back out of curiosity of this but to also make sure this killer is stopped as soon as possible -
Maybe the newer cast who finds this out confides in their boyfriend / girlfriend and close friend(s) and the boyfriend / girlfriend is involved in the murders and had to dispose of them and cover their tracks 👀

A while back, there was an ALLEGED leak that the plot would revolve around a character returning to their hometown to investigate a new series of murders, and that would fit your theory perfectly. Who knows though. Even if that was a "legit" leak, they have multiple scripts made as security to keep the actual film plot from being leaked

They don't say who the person returns is though. It could be Sydney, Gale, Martha, Kirby or a new character. But it wasn't a leak. It was a synopsis. But sometimes especially with horror the synopsis can change between production and release because of rewrites.

If that is in fact, Stu Macher's house, I'm leaning heavily on there being flashbacks going on. The things that can be paired with that is possibly either the house is currently abandoned and the new killers' home base is based out of there or the new main/final girl actually happens to live in that house now. You know, say the Macher's moved out after what happened.
Bonus: Had they gone with the original idea for Scream 3, Matthew Lillard's little background appearance in Scream 2 could have actually been Stu stalking Sydney.

Just saw the trailer for Scream 2022, I am looking forward to seeing the scenes they do at Stu’s old house!
Please forgive the long response. But yeah it was Marley Shelton And no disrespect to your fourth theories but I don't think any of them are correct. Based off of who accidentally leaked the tag, Marley never actually shared a scene with Skeet having Part 4 be the first movie that introduced her So why would she tag him in the first place? What I think is going on is two things: One is obvious and one not so much, the surprise, if you will. Recently a cast list had revealed the last names of several of the new characters including Dylan mignettes which is Hicks. His character's name is Wes (in honor of Wes Craven, So clearly he's not going to be a throwaway character of any kind.) Hicks (as in Judy Hicks the character Marley Shelton plays in Scream 4). Marley had a very interesting peculiar scene in part four that they never got back to where she revealed to Sydney that she was very familiar with who she was from high school and Sydney disregarded it not really recognizing her at all. Clearly they were using that as a red herring but why did they never come back to it? And why didn't we find out in part four that she had a son? I mean, look at the actor. I think it's pretty clear that Judy Hicks was probably in a secret relationship with Billy Loomis during the year that Sydney was not having sex with him and she had a secret teenage pregnancy because that would add up to his age now. Kyle gallner also kind of let it slip that there was going to be more than one killer again but what if there's actually more than two? So my theory is the obvious one being that Judy Hicks and her son are the duo killers that bring Sydney back to Stu's house to make it go full circle and complete what Billy was trying to at the exact same location he was trying to do it. Sure, Marley would accidentally tag skeet but this is part five of scream and this is not certain crew and cast members first rodeo there's no way that they would let that leak unless they wanted it to because of... 2, the secret third killer. I think they are trying to distract us purposefully with Stu's house and the leak of Skeet Ulrich because there is a better surprise they have in store for us. Dare I say, someone we know? Perhaps this third killer is actually trying to kill the other two killers even? But after 25 years they've got this secrecy script thing down on lock by now. I don't think these are necessarily accidental "leaks". They've never done a flashback before and I don't think they'd start now, ghosts didn't exactly work out for part 3 with Sidney's mother and And there's no need to bring back suppose a dead characters. If they haven't done it yet they're not going to do it now. But clearly they've got something special in store for us and I don't think it's what we're talking about. That scene was amazing and the best of the series. It would kind of being an endearing way to, like you said, honor them, while not in any sort of condoning way. But they would be able to be comedic and dastardly, etc. Just constantly making her second guess herself, but also think like a killer and solve shit.
Anyway, I think Dylan Minettes character in this might have a name thats an anagram. I've said this in like 3 other vids about Scream 5, but his name is Wes Hicks. Which could be rearranged as H Sew Sick...H'sew Sick...He's So Sick. I donno, pretty dumb everytime I type it out lol, but I was thinking maybe the fact his name is Wes, which is clearly an homage to Craven, was similar to how Billys name was an homage to other horror legends (Halloween and Psycho's Loomis characters). Although his name is an homage to fictional horror legends, whereas Wes' name would be an homage to the director.
It was just something that made his name stand out. Was the whole homage thing. Like from trivia I'd known thats what they did with Billy, and how they named him. As much as I loved Mathew Lilard and Jamie Kennedy as Stu and Randy respectively, tragically both of their characters deaths were pretty conclusive.
I don’t agree respectfully because Stu is more likely dead let me explain Randy and why I think it’s a possible way to go with ghostface in original Stu should’ve just stabbed him on the couch because he was one of a handful of potential threats and they may have planned to kill randy anyway then billy from 10ft away shoots him in the arm considering self harm was the escape plan it’s not so far fetched and as far as 2 he was a film major with access and knowledge to fake an overly gory death I know this isn’t a popular theory but I’m expecting the unexpected and his sister and niece and nephew are in the movie maybe we could get a jaw dropping moment and I think there’s 3 killers and we will not know the 3rd until 6 also opening kill Maureen Prescott flashback with a hint of a third person involved
@@michaelkelsay4559, Stu was almost in the scream 3 original script. He was in jail, orchestrating teens to commit murder. But Columbine happened so they scrapped it and decided to change the script. Anything is possible. Stu could return.

@@nolaray1062 well I don’t think that the core group would have been keeping tabs on Stu (especially if he’s locked up in prison or a psychiatric hospital) because they were obviously trying to move on and forget about what happened. (Especially in scream 2 where his cameo appearance happened.)
I could totally see dewy being behind everything and even framing a now innocent and reformed Stu ala psycho 2. (I got a list of things that happened that point to Dewey like his 2 survived attacks, his comment to Gail in 2 about her book, when Randy asked him about his limp and then Randy dies, and how did Roman get information that would have normally only been available to a private investigator or police officer such as Maureen Prescott’s name change.) and I don’t see how Randy could have survived because we saw him all cut up and dead.

The thing is, when you flash back to the people from your youth, you picture them as they were then. Your mind may try hard to picture them as hey would be in the current day, but it would fail. I hope they don’t go this route for that reason. It just won’t be believable.
I'm all for flashbacks. Y'all remember in Scream 3 when Sid came across the movie set for Stab & she came across her "old room" & she remembered her & Billy's conversation about their relationship. Tbh it would be interesting to see her remember more things like hypothetically what if there was an alternative ending to the first that us viewers are just now going to see. What if she only imagined herself killing Billy & Stu or what if something in her mind snapped that made her think she was being "stalked" by a killer but in reality she was the killer
Stu's house now has the kind of infamy & legend quality that Nancy's (Nightmare on Elm Street) house has. It is a "character" all on its own. A wild thought I had is: A lot of blood was spilled at Stu's house in one night. Tatum, Kenny (Gale's camera man), Billy, & Stu all died here. With so much blood, & so much bad energy, will Stu's house taken on a "Murder House"-like quality? (American Horror Story reference). Just something I wonder about. I love when long running franchises aren't afraid to reference & revist past locations from previous films. I'm truly curious about Scream 5, but I'm concerned bc this will be the first film in the franchise without Wes Craven, & I'm worried for Sidney & Gale as characters. Both of them have outlasted many of their "Final Girl" peers w/out any retcons or "new timelines" & we know that slasher films historically do not allow their final girls to carry on without at least ONE "death" interrupting their run.

After all, he was supposed to come back in Scream 3, so they've already had a concept in mind that would back up how he survived and why it was never mentioned. if i was them i would just do like halloween 2018 and ignore the sequels (although scream 2 is my favourite) and make it a direct sequel to scream. i know billy is dead at the end of scream and stu as well but i would just ignore that and have them survive. its decades later, billy and stu have been incarcerated for all those years and sidney now works for the fbi. a copycat killer starts a new wave of killings and sidney has to go see billy or stu in jail to find the killer. i know this sounds just like silence of the lambs but if they can bring that type of grittiness to the scream films that would be great. if done right it could work. i would rather them do this and take a chance and give the fans a decent film with new ideas than have them repeat the same thing they did for scream 3 and scream 4.

2) I don’t buy that Sidney would have to go there because she has unresolved issues. The version of Sid we meet in 4 is basically over the trauma of it all. She’s a very different Sid to the first film. So to have her now be needing to confront demons or PTSD would require some heavy regression of her character.
What it could be... a new killers’ fascination with the original events inspire them to make events happen at the old house. An homage from the new killers.
I think this will be another film where Sydney doesn’t live there, but is lured back by killings. The house may be involved here. With Sydney lured back to Woodsboro. Perhaps returning to a copy cat murderer trying to kill Sydney in the same house Billy and Stu failed to do so.

What if the new killers are "dressing up" as Billy and Stu to make Sidney think she's completely lost her mind, which could/would mean Skeet and Matthew would actually be playing Billy and Stu, but when it came time for the big reveal we'd find out it's actually the new people. If you've ever seen the first Mission Impossible movie with Tom Cruise you'll know what I mean.

The killer for this movie WILL be Stu 100%, They want to finish what Wes Craven started, even more now that he passed away, they want to follow the original plan. Since scream 3 didnt go well and most hated it they will probably go with the original scream 3's plot on this one and bring Stu back and finish the vision that Wes Craven had.
