It’s such a trip learning the actual house layout. Since childhood I’ve always just had a vague idea of each room but not how it all connected.
Interesting how it’s so accurate to how the scenes are staged as most modern films are not like that at all!

I think that DBD only got the rights to the mask/outfit of Ghostface, not actually one of the Ghostfaces in the movies.
@@atomicpotato18 you would be correct, the got the licience for the masks from the masks owner. As Wes Craven or Dimension Films decieded to just use a halloween costume anyone can buy

@@atomicpotato18 Yep, DBD was unable to get licensing for either of Craven's original products for the Nightmare and Ghostface DCL's. It's how they ended up with the more generic version of GF with a backstory inspired by the later Scream movies instead of direct references like The Pig or The Shape.
Its also why the game has Platinum Dunes version of Freddie's design and backstory, and Quinton as the survivor instead of Nancy. The differences between the two versions of Freddie are relatively minor outside of a few lines of backstory and the occasional addon description, but developers knew trying to sell a non-Heather Langenkamp Nancy survivor would go over like a lead balloon so they went with Quinton instead.

I was there for the Scream Comes Home event in 2018. Visiting all the other filming locations, meeting a ton of fans that are as crazy about the movies as I am and having Roger "the voice" Jackson there truly made it the best day of my life! And yes, I flew all the way in from Germany :)

Now, I understand two things that have perplexed me over the years. First, how Stu got to that small set of stairs during the chase scene. Second, how no one saw Tatum hanging on the garage door. 👍Two thumbs way, way up👍 for this video. 🥰🥰🥰

I'm a huge fan of yours and seeing the cheeky cameo in the film was SUCH A TREAT. Awesome stuff- something to be proud of!!
Imagine you get a friend to dress up as Ghostface and you play a game of tag on this estate at nighttime, the same way the first Scream had like 5 different characters running around the mansion in the finale. Can you even imagine what that would feel like? I feel like I'd get WAY too into it, like I literally am in the first Scream, in the actual house, and Ghostface is hunting me.
Then one of them turns out to be a real killer.

Just watched scream in the cinemas and I nearly cried when I saw you guys in the middle. You are the sole reason I love horror so much and 3 years to the day after watching my first kill count I saw this movie. I appreciate so much what you guys have done for budding horror fans and I hope that u are having a lovely break while zoran takes over.
Amazing how iconic many of the locations in movies can be visiting and giving tours. I would love to visit many places like the shining house, the house from the first home alone, and now I'm going to add the house from Scream on my list.
Seeing the full house really just makes my Brain map out where the killers are while not on scene and what’s going on. For instance billy using the extra stairs to get up stairs before Sidney comes in and he does the big reveal

It's pretty amazing how the layout of the house helps so much to keep the tension of the movie. The final chase aside, you get to know every corner and feel as trap as Cindy as you watch.
Thanks for the tour! I LOVE how they were able to utilize the house in this way; a fun combination of letting the layout influence the action but not being afraid to make changes to better serve the story!

Thanks guys I can tell you worked hard to do this and I'd never get to visit the house so thanks for bringing it to us Scream fans ❤ I kinda love how Sid doesn't go down the stairs because visually ghostface pop out of somewhere we didn't see to stop her from reaching the stairs and she has to find another way just like she did at her house. It's cool to find out that it was the room they started in because I always wondered how he did it. But it's a red flag that it's Stu as they knew the house really well. And Matthew is so good in Scream you know he's the killer and you still kinda like him.
They should do a horror house hunting show when the break is over. Would be cool to get more walk through of houses used in famous horror movies.

I live in Sonoma county, and last year I tried taking a drive to all the different SCREAM locations.
That house is Tomales, Sydney’s is on the way to Calistoga, Casey’s is by Glen Ellen, and Tatum lives in Downtown Santa Rosa by the junior college.
So it’s pretty funny to me thinking that none of these characters would actually be in school together.
Stu would be going to Petaluma High, Tatum would be Santa Rosa High, Sydney would’ve been a first year student at Maria Carrillo High, and Casey would’ve gone somewhere in the city of Sonoma.
Also, if Billy is the killer in the beginning, I wanna see how many times he got caught in poison oak or blackberry bushes while hiking to Casey’s place, cause there’s a driveway on a one lane road to get there, so he would’ve had to park down the road and hike with Steve then get back to his car afterwards and drive another hour or more to Sydney’s house in the same night, he must’ve gotten caught up in some mud or thorny plants or something...
For things to happen like they did in the movie would be nearly impossible,

There's nothing that truly suggests Billy was watching the TV when Sidney pops out with the umbrella. He could've been simply staring off, trying to focus his hearing. Or maybe he caught a glimpse of Randy gaining consciousness on the ground in the foyer.
You also say it doesn't make sense for Sidney to jump over the bed and past Ghostface in the bedroom, but you have to remember this is Stu's house, not Sidney's, so it's entirely possible she hadn't ever been to Stu's house before, and so maybe didn't know the layout of the house or where the stairs behind her led.
Sidney was probably just trying to escape through a known exit, which was the way her and Billy went into the room.
As for the "fake window," they could've actually been decorative curtain dividers used to just separate the two parts of the room.

I've been watching you since the first kill count "Friday the 13th". I've been in love with this channel since, even have tons of merch and started getting so invested into horror that I collect horror figures. Seeing you have a cameo in "Scream 5" honestly made me tear in the theatre. I am so proud of James and how big his channel as gotten for being a horror channel which is not appreciated. I've been there from the start and seeing that made me a proud fan. I love you and Chelsea and am so much more into horror because of the Dead Meat. One love!

It’s always fun touring places used in movies. When you understand the geography of a particular area, it seems like it adds a new layer of depth to the film. This in particular was quite illuminating, and I’m not sure I’ll ever watch that finale the same way again.

I love this video!! Even as a kid I used to try to work out the floor plans of movie houses, especially when the house is essentially another character in the movie. This house had confused me initially for the same reasons discussed here - where did the staircase to the main bedroom come from, what’s with that hallway above the front door, how did Billy see the TV from the hall closet, and why isn’t the TV room in the front of the house based on how Dewey and Gail walk in?
