This was helpful. I have a little homestead so I'm on a smaller scale than even you are but I have 3 American Guinea hogs and it's late Feb/early March in Arkansas and they already have several ticks on them. I'm going to follow your advice! Thank you!
I used a mixture of cedar wood oil, peppermint oil and Bitterroot almond oil...with at best moderate success. I have about 20 guineas .... they don't keep the ticks down much. I might have to resort to the chemical route. My 7 week old piglets have at least 7-10 tics a week, I am pulling off.

Enjoyed your video. I like that you have compassion for the animals. Can you use a rag to wipe down the whole pig as apposed to the sprayer?
Yes you can, in fact the pigs that I have now aren’t a big fan of the sprayer but so they get the rag treatment.
How often do you need to use your spray?
Usually once every 2-3 weeks. Just monitor and if the ticks start getting bad again it’s time to spray.
