Awwww your whippet reminds me so much of my Italian Greyhound. He looked just like yours, but the smaller IG version. Keeping him warm in winter was always a big focus. It was really hard to find him jumpers that fit so I ended up making them from polar fleece. I couldn't find a coat for him either so ended up making legs from fleece & attaching them to the jumper with velcro. Not the prettiest outfit but it did what it was supposed to. his very last year I finally found a snow parka for IGs. I was overjoyed & he loved it. My little guy loved his booties in the winter and neck warmers. Love your furbaby! You take such good care of yours.
To save on heating without compromising my whippet wellness I bought her an electric pet heating pad. She loves it! Also would recommend IggySuitsLondon for small whippet. Lovely outfits at very reasonable price
I don't know if you live in a cold country, but that's pretty ridiculous. It's important to treat a dog like a dog and not make him too fragile and sensitive with your attitude... I don't think whippets wore coats 200 years ago... even if whippets aren't the strongest or bravest dogs because they're skinny and don't have a lot of hair, don't destroy them mentally by thinking of them as fragile little things to be overprotected. you'll just end up with an anxious, fearful dog that doesn't like life, It's a shame to be one of the fastest animals on the planet, only to end up living in a little basket, dressed in pink and trembling with fear, because your dog's emotions have been completely ruined by a life that's not adapted to them.
Umm I don't know where you get the idea from that being sensitive to cold=fearful dog but that's just absolute rubbish. Whippets have a very low body fat percentage and no undercoat so if you don't put a jumper and coats on them in the winter it's basically like you going out into the cold in just a thin shirt. When being cared for properly and kept warm they do very much enjoy life, they don't tremble in fear they shiver when they get cold, that's it. Clearly never spent any time with a Whippet before. Educate yourself on a breed before commenting next time.
