    This was the most helpful plant video I’ve seen on TH-cam! I just got a Veragated plant shipped to me, and I stated having issues right away with transparent spots, I thought this was a Veragated/Shipping issue. Turns out the plant had fungus! You saved my new plant (and my others in the house) I wish there were more plant videos like this.

    I am indoor house planting in NYC, US. We’re seeing temperatures as low as 23F outside. Here’s the thing: my apartment complex is so afraid of getting sued that they leave the heat on through the entire season! But that’s not the bad part…
    I have Meyer lemon seedlings growing and (Quercus alba) white oak tree acorns germinating in the same indoor plant-tent facing Northeast-East; so sunrise is a big thing for my Meyers.
    When I infrared-check the temperature, The area is usually cooler than the Meyer leaf. I have full spectrum grow lights, but the Meyers seem to be stretching to them, so I quarter turn them every week. When I set my humidifier to 60%, I only get maybe the high 40%. And when I finally get it to at least the high 50%, the temp is around 85F and the clear plastic is sweating everywhere! The overall temperature (leaf & ambiance) can fluctuate between low 70F to mid 80F.
    Any suggestions? Please help?

    • @TheJungleHaven
      @TheJungleHaven  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Temperature fluctuations like that can be really hard to deal with. If you haven't already, I'd consider adding a fan into your tent to help with air and humidity circulation. I also tend to use heat mats for propagating a lot, which can help increase the general heat within a small contained space. I'd also maybe consider getting some more grow lights in there so your plants don't have to stretch quite so much to reach the light

    This video is so helpful!! I wish I had watched it before I got my plants, lol. I'm still a newbie when it comes to plants, and my snake plant got a brown spot that turned slightly transparent....I didn't know what was going on. It hasn't gotten any worse and it hasn't spread so I don't think it's a fungal issue. I haven't been watering it much bcuz I got gnats and I've been spraying it a lot, bcuz they won't go away. Anyways I have a grow light over it and I moved it further up and it seems ok now.

    Hi 👋
    It was such a joy finding your video. I've watched dozens of videos trying to figure out what's wrong with my Zebra plant, but to no avail. I have some irregular Red brown splotches on some of my leaves ranging from dime size to a quarter or larger. I bought it from a reputable nursery and have asked them since then if they could help me out diagnosing it. But it's really hit or miss with the answers. I keep it on a humidity tray and a humidifier that I keep around 70. I kept it in quarantine ( as I do all of my new plants) and it still remains by itself in a southern window about a foot back with no direct light. The blotches only started about a month after getting it. I've read where Zebra plants can be very temperamental, but I'm really getting worried. There aren't very many videos on it or it's problems. I water twice a week with only rain water and worm castings. Please help my little Zebrina. ( Her name 😏) She's gorgeous 😍 And I'm very worried about losing her. 🥺 Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated 😊 thanks
    PS. I don't know why, but it's seeming to let me attach a picture. But I'll keep trying 😕

    So my white princess and pink princess both has this issue around the same time. A new leaf was begging to break out of sheath and just the very tip turned black and rotted but the leaf continued to grow. Just left me with a weird looking leaf. It happened once on my white princess and after research I thought it was because I was misting like an idiot and I read water can get trapped in sheath and rot the leaf. So I stopped misting but the next leaf did the same thing and than at the same time my pink princess also had this happen. The only thing I can think of is It happened 3 days after I moved both plants from my detolf greenhouse cabinet to my milsbo cabinet and I hadn't properly weather stripped the milsbo so my plants went from 90s humidity down to like 65-70 for like 3 days. Could that cause this issue?? Literally only the tips turned black and died before the leaf could even make it out of the stem please help!

    • @TheJungleHaven
      @TheJungleHaven  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The move could definitely be part of it - most plants really enjoy a stable environment and can freak out if you move them (hence why so many people have issues with new plants). That issue often comes as a result of a watering imbalance too, so maybe do some research to make sure you're not under/over watering and meeting your plants needs x
