You bent the float arm assembly so it will fit down the hole with the rest of the fuel sender. I can see that it’s bent, you should have mentioned that in your video.
Very helpful video! But notice if you have a tank that is less the around 7" on the depth, you cannot use the top screw in the rheostat housing. having the top screw in, does not allow you to get high enough for the correct measurement. (~5 minutes 11 secs). I also had to move the wire lug on the bottom, to the side to get the height I needed. Mine went in a 64 Nova. There are a number of things that have apparently upgraded or improved in the kit, sense this video was made. I still recommend it.
The video sure made it look easy. The way the level sender was adjusted in this video was way off and you bent the thing just to get it installed. The tank is full 1.5" above the height of the sensor unit. The rheostat needs to be much higher in the tank to be even close to giving a realistic reading and thus the bracket and plastic housing need to be modified quite a bit.
A few things... Some of the fuel pumps do not have such a nice power connector .... they have simple spade type of connectors (Seems a little sketchy to have live wires with a raw type of connection in contact with fuel. The gaskets are not rubber but cork. Not all pumps, with sock installed, will sit so nice and level. He does not put the sleeve over the fuel pump before zip tying the return tube.
Hello and thanks for the great info. Is there a different kit for a carb return line set up? I use the Blue Holley external elect pump and want to plumb from the Holley Fuel regulator back to the tank. Appreciate any feedback from you or the people commenting. Thank you.
Can u run the Holley Regulator/filter with this conversion tank to shorten up the return line? Install directions for regulator only mention in-line fuel pump. Want to use the stock OEM 3/8 “ hard line and not run a return line from engine bay.
What size and type fuel line and fittings do you get for the tank. I am doing a 1968 Camaro Conversion with the tank however I need to get the fittings and fuel line & return. There really is no kit I can find. Be nice if Holley included this with their tanks to simplify install.
A kit would be handy, but there are just too many variables to take into consideration making it very difficult to make a kit to work with everyone's needs. The sender has ¼” NPT Supply and Return line ports. You can use either barbed or AN style fittings. Use only high pressure rubber fuel line that is rated for EFI pressures like our Vapor Guard and quality EFI rated clamps. www.holley.com/products/plumbing_an_fittings_and_hose/hose/vapor_guard_hose/parts/762055ERL Or if you are planning on using AN fittings you can use any of our quality fuel line with the corresponding fittings. www.holley.com/brands/earls/products/plumbing_an_fittings_and_hose/hose/ 5/16" and 3/8" are the most common size fuel lines used and should be matched to your engines fuel demands. Thanks for these videos, it really helps on these installs. Had another question, where would you recommend the holley efi fuel filter placement with this Conversion Fuel Tank? Near the tank or is anywhere in the supply line ok.
The pre-filter should be as close to the tank as possible. The post filter can be anywhere after the fuel pump and before the efi system / regulator. thx J
What if the kit doesn’t have some things I need? I’m wanting the sniper 2300 for my 1977 International Scout II with a 304 V8, what do I do about my fuel tank and sending unit? Am I able to use the original ones or what do I do?
You can get a retrofit kit to put an efi pump and a sending unit in your tank. You will just have to check the ohm range of your sending unit to get the correct one
Is there tanks for non-factory locations? I have a 94 s10 that I want to put in a rear tank in the spare tire spot and remove the factory tank to make room for dual exhaust.

Shouldn't you of used fuel injection type clamps since snipper is actually a efi pressure pump to help keep leaks down and make sure you have full pressure to the efi unit....and also should run a ground wire to the sender to make sure your getting ground to the sender for good signal
To answer your questions. We use a low permeation multi layered fuel line that is pressed on. It has much better retention than a rubber line has and does most of the gripping itself. There is a ground lug right on the top of the fuel sender unit to provide a clean chassis ground. thx J
