    For lease deals I do the following;
    1) Work out the total monthly average not just monthly payments.
    2) Add on £20 a month for the first two services.
    3) Add £5 a month for gap insurance.
    Then I have a clear idea of what the car is costing me.

    Great channel , I’m ex car trade and think you’ve got this spot on . Perhaps a couple of commercial vehicle deals that shine towards the end might just be the cherry on the top ? Keep up the good work pal.

      Thanks. I did a video on commercial deals a couple of days ago. I separate the videos out now as feedback and viewing analytics show it works better for the audience that way 👍👍

    I paid £195 for my first car, never spent a penny on it apart from petrol and insurance ( was already taxed and moted ), had it a year before it broke and I sold it for £50 and thought I'd been ripped off lmfao!
    Wont tell you how long ago that was though haha.
    These seem ok deals though but I'm still old school, I buy 3 to 5 year old car and keep it till it needs scrapping, last car was 17 years old and only got rid because gov upped the tax so much, 1.9tdi golf engine went on forever and did 50mpg easy, was no slouch either.

      Yeah, a lot of modern cars age like milk and become increasingly expensive to keep on the road so leasing somethign new with full maufacturers warranty is a great alternative for lots of people. Each to their own eh. 👍

    Oh!
    Oh!
    That Lotus Emira!
    So tempted to alter my pension plan to accommodate living a lot shorter, just to have that for 3 years!
    Alternately, I could sell the house and live in it.
    What a three years that would be!
    I could live on the memory of that, alone.

    Why do you need GAP insurance on a new car in the first year, don't insurance companies replace like for like in first year?

    • @DefinitelyNotAGuru
      @DefinitelyNotAGuru  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yep but they won’t settle your finance. In this example it’s £122 for THREE YEARS cover - that obviously includes the lower risk in year one. Average payout is over £4K I believe so probably not bad value.

    Lease loco were doing a better deal on the CHR a few weeks back at around £270pm for the same spec during that loco sale you made a video about. Was an astonishing deal in hindsight. Hope they do it again so I can switch out of mine.

      There were loads of Tuscon deals last year, just keep your eyes open and try to keep an open mind - shop for the best deals and not a spoecific car if you can - it usually pays dividends.

    It is likely to be £122.79 in total not per month. If it was per month it is mega expensive, but if for three years it is a total bargain
