You handled this surprisingly similarly to how most people handled Remake Rufus, the Braver and Triple Slash attacks remind me so much of the strat from Remake. Great job.
I did remember that when I came up with it. It’s harder to do now though, because it won’t shove Rufus around. Made it work by hitting him with it again as he recovered.
One of the most stylish Rufus fights I have seen! 😎 Beautiful. Both phases was a work of art. You didn’t give him a chance to do anything in either phase. Nice to see Jump throw into the mix. I didn’t know triple slash makes quick pressure work at the start of phase 2, great find. And seeing darkstar being air juggled while still making time to triple slash Rufus, just amazing. 🥳🎉 Sick run!
Yeah the triple slash is a trick from remake. It’s harder to do in this game, because it doesn’t shove Rufus back anymore. It’s an instant link break. I didn’t know that it was so easy to get him with braver by focing him to use a desperation counter.
Ooh quite an unorthodox approach to this fight. Cool to see ! The use of jump is a fun choice. Is it the case that you’re able to do normal attacks more without getting countered in operator mode than punisher / prime in this fight ?
Yeah. If you hit him a bunch with punisher slashes or aerial attacks while he is pressured, he uses punishment. No good counterplay against punishment, you want him to use desperation instead. When you spam him with attacks while he is guarded + pressured, he eventually uses desperation. This move will shove you back and he will always follow up with him using one of three attacks, leaving him open to braver as he will have to reload every time. You must be in Operator mode to guard the potential reflex shot. Spiral - Back Dodge + Braver Bright Lights - Side Dodge + Braver Reflex Shot - Perfect Block + Braver
Mm, yes desperation is his most vulnerable move. You force it by attacking him relentlessly in Operator mode on the ground while he is pressured with his guard up. He always follows desperation with an attack followed by a reload. If you use Braver quickly after making the proper reaction, it’s an instant stagger as you will catch him while he is reloading. Reflex Shot - Block + Braver Spiral - Dodge Back + Braver Bright Lights - Dodge Side + Braver You can see it happen twice - 0:14 and 1:20
Wow dude. It looked like a choreographed dance at one point during phase 1. Just incredible to watch. Just a great showcase of the combats depth.

I don’t see the Jump material used very often. Nice!

Damn….
That was an obliteration.

Love this gamble + jump build. Lots of fun to watch!
You comment just gave me a great idea. I’ll just use gambler + Quaga, then I’ll spam it with one ATB
@@Azumgi9 haha it's quite fun
Never thought i will see jump in these exhibitions
I’ve made use of jump for a few of these. Sometimes important for enemy targeting, dodging or closing distance, other times just for flair
Entertaining and informative as always ❤
