I think the problem that these kinds of games have is that most new players - the people who are attracted to play the game - don't have a group to play in and want to play solo. When you realise that's not supposed to be possible even for veterans, it really does undermine the game.
but it sucks when you cant play games solo because some people dont have friends which play this game
My biggest problem with the game so far is it is so slow but since it is a sandbox mmo and has no story, all I can do it grind for worse gear in hopes of getting better gear so I can actually go out and explore other zones because I can't farm hell gates(PVP), can't farm dungeons(Not good enough Items) and so the only option |I have to slug it out with the mobs or farm nods, both of which hit my durability and that becomes a gold sink.
Whoulda thunk you have to find a group to play with in a "massive-multiplayer online" game.

My friend also quit the game but im in a guild for 2 months now and having fun everyday with small scale content hellgates, solo dungeons, group dungeons, small scale zvz, world bosses, ganking. Just find people if you dont have any!
I am not personally a fan of pvp, I am a farming raider, so I was pessimistic about this game. I ended up pleasantly surprised at how much fun I had farming and PVPING. I had a group of about 6 friends playing and I was the person that farmed to upgrade our guild while they focused more on personal character progression and pvp. The problem is when you get to the point you HAVE to go to the blacklands. You literally can no longer progress without going there, and with it being all about zerging in the blacklands, the game quickly fell apart for my guild and I. It was so unfortunate they had such a shitty system in place.

@@moj1782 after a point the game simply doesn't lets you progress any further without taking any risks.it wants you to learn how to increase your lifetime,your profits and your chances of living in situation when you have to fight or escape against player or players.this ofc can be easily done with enough patience and mentality,if you can afford the set that you wearing 10-15 times more you can go to black zone without any doubts,aside from you character's spec's personal experience and confidence what makes you better at the game and black zone is how you acquire that experience.Unfortunately for this guy and his friend group they choosed whining over trying to get better.Sorry but albion is not a overcasual friendly game sometimes

I really don't like the full loot system in the way they did. I am more a solo player, because I love the possibilities of this game, but to be dependant to play with more players is very sad, because you need to be a hardcore player to play 24/7 oder you need to look in what time your friends will be online. And I don't want to look always for that.
You can keep being solo player and still pvp,and you dont need to play 7/24 for that,you only need some specs and they remain the same even if you dont play for a year,albion is one of the most forgiving games when you cant spend much hours on the game,for example try neverwinter,play the game for 2 years,dont play for 3 months come back only to see there is new op items that everyone uses and you gotta grind for days just to make your character be able to do dungeons again.in albion you spec your gear and they remain the same.

There are 3 big problems with the game in my opinion, Premium, Cash currency that can be traded for ingame currency and low skill ceiling in combat, as long as you didn't level up shitty weapons, you were good to go. (Also nature healers are broken and they don't think that they should be fixed)

you can play the game free (after you buy the game) but the game's more about gambling than it is about being a knight. you can pretend it's not pay to win if you want but you can buy silver with $ and silver can buy literally anything in the game except fame. (unless were talking about crafting then you can buy the material's other gather to craft endlessly.)
Well without fame (and the correct fame) you can't equip anything so how is it pay to win? You are like a nerd with a real cool authentic well crafted sword who can't use it...

Seeing a bunch of Red Army[I think they call themselves Blue Army now] mascree themselves would be so satisfying. They already barely cordinate and can't control territories for shit. Seeing them Zerg at you then start accidentally hitting each other would be hilarious.
Edit: You can replace them with whatever the current big Zerg is. They fall apart so quickly at this point its hard to keep up

@@bruh-zc5zh No, it just means you have to position your team correctly to make the aoe damage worth using, or even considering some of your friend might get hurt you have to balance the pros and cons of each usage, just how real pvp games work, This way you can even increase the dmg of aoe spells or change shapes so you can pick the best ones that match your teams playstyle, positioning and charging formations.

Bought the game, played beta, had alot of fun, release came, zerg tryhards ruined the game, uninstalled.
I remember a my first and last fight in a battle to take over territory. I was a tank and we got pincered in the territory by 2 other zergs. we got deleted after that I left the alliance I was in since my guild said it was breaking down and join another guild that had territories and better players. I took place in a castle war in which I got chasec by 9 people and even more coming after. We lost the castle. After the next day I got killed by a guy with T4.1 claws and I had T5.3 Death givers. Game moved my cursor and I missed attack so I died. I uninstalled game. one year after I redownload the game in hopes bugs are fixed.
I took more steps from u but in the end I unistalled as well. Game seems fine with good ideas but hunters and especially hunter guilds made the game really hard as the only way to farm is to go in RED areas for High Tiar materials and it's impossible to cause they got better mounts, can sneak up on u and if hit u once or poison u U just go have lunch cause chance of Escape is that another hunter group comes and u manage to get away as they fight eachother.(Personal Experince)

Hey Nerd Slayer. The game has gone through ( once again ) more massive changes and I think most are in agreement that Albion is in a very good place right now. I would love to see you do a review on Albion in 2020 ( specifically with the new Queen Update ).
Looking forward for this video as Albion seems to get more popular.

I played Albion for a few months when it launched and I had a blast... at first. I have never experienced full loot PvP before and it was super fun for battles to have so much weight to them. As I played more and more though, it got to a point where I simply could not play the game anymore as a solo player.
Once I read that the devs basically said solo players can fuck off, I uninstalled and never looked back. What a shame. Albion could have been amazing if solo players could actually play.
yeah man..before queen update it was pvp i had no issue with it bt after queen if ur a solo plyr u can't go to black zone u will even see a bunch of noobs r killing ppl with 2 raven mount n 7/8 ppl..so no point of plyng this game if ur solo..n funny thy still say its pvp game n yes thy nerfd almost all the mony making ways like gathering is litrlly fuckd up now :P

It was so much fun in the first few weeks, but when people realised there wasn't much to do. And you needed a huge blob to do anything. A lot seemed to quit.
Servers were broken in the first few weeks. That didn't help.
I completely agree. As a solo player, i really enjoyed it for about 3 months, but as the power spike, less players and everyone being in a blob started to become more apparent i quit. Which is a shame as i genuinely really liked the game.
is the ping still at 110 for european players?
I tried it again about 3 weeks ago, and yeah, mine was around 100 ping.
there is one thing i don't get, Linneage 2 was a open world pvp game... and yet did not devolve into a grief mess.
it had this system where by Pking you accumulated karma, and higher your karma was... higher the chance of dropping your gear if someone killed you. accumulate too much karma and at some point you you were flagged free for all where you just became a pinata.
it was a very good system, it always led to this tension when you meet other group of players as you never knew if they wanted to cross that threshold.
why not just copy that?
It mostly depends on how you earn back that Karma. I mean in BDO you can earn karma back by killing mobs but problem is it's too slow for some and too fast for others.
For instance one of my guildmates was grinding and a group came to his spot. He told them 5or more times to leave the spot since it's first come first serve, they didn't want to leave. So he kills them, gets negative karma, but they come again and again and then he is faced with a decision does he relent or does he go full red because they are not leaving.
End of the story is people are dick's and any way you slice it is going to end up pissing someone off, have a reputation system of any kind it will be abused. Or have nothing and PK'ing will be so common it will kill the game sooner or later, because nothing kills people's mood to play other then losing everything to a group of 4 guys when you ware minding your own business.
Their original system of areas would work fine, does for EvE so they didn't have to add rep.
Couldn't agree more with your opinion on the skill ceiling, i found the combat way too shallow and I think they missed a trick with incorporating more skill based moba content into the game. An MMO full loot dota sounds perfect to me but instead they hamstrung their game by trying to develop it for mobile...
So agree. I loved the idea of how battle was more MOBA... then they made it Right-Click Warrior Moba.

@@MaQuGo119 No. Eve Online easily has the most depth of any combat I've seen in any game. MMO or otherwise. The skill ceiling is stupid high. It just gets aggravatingly complex up until zerg runs in Nullsec. Zerg is just a numbers game, but solo and small gang pvp is a grind to figure out. In Eve you'll hear stories about the moment it "clicks". They'll be out pvping by themselves or in a small group, they've been doing it for months, just grinding out skill and knowledge of how it works. Then on month 3-5, they'll get an "ah-ha!" moment, it'll just click. It'll be a conscious moment. They'll know what to target, what to avoid, how to position themselves for each enemy ship on the field, primary target, secondary, all down the line. Everything will just work in their head without them having to spend time thinking about all the numbers. They are by no means a master, it's far to go from there, but they've built up enough game knowledge and skill they can act and react without having to consciously think about what everything means, they know what everything means. It takes months to get there. It's not possible to just pick it up, play, and be winning. Unless they have a good group to cover for them when going through that stage, everyone has to grind out losses.

I played albion at launch for a bit but couldnt really get into it for alot of these reasons. Lately however since it seems to have rebounded in popularity I'm thinking about trying it again. Have you ever gone back and seen if any of these issues were fixed?

As a backer and long time player like yourself (pre-launch) you are 100% on point with this video. The development decisions for this game were some of the most confusing and down right bad I've seen.
I personally did for a time play Albion Online for a year, and while some people may still find the game entertaining for what it is, this video in my experience sums up the game for me.
I started off as a small solo player and quickly realized I needed a guild. After a time, my character was strong enough to PvP effectively, and so I did what I bought the game for, PvP. Eventually, I was, too, kicked into the black zones, and my guild merged into another guild because we simply needed larger groups of players to be viable, but there was a problem. I did not enjoy massive 20v20 fights on a constant basis. I prefer much smaller battles, as they get much more personal in combat. The problem here is that Albion Online only supports guilds that have huge numbers to support their huge groups, so unless you want to fight in constant 20v20 battles every 30-60 min, then Albion is not for you.
That's not true. Small scale is feasible all over the place.
New to your channel and really like how you address specific content. It feels like there is a rut right now in quality games. You have mentioned eso a couple times that I have seen so far. I started but it has gotten so repetitive that I can’t bring myself to keep logging in. I know have not gotten to end game but it seems hard to feel engaged.
ESO is so dumbed down for the common consumer, it is just not engaging because of which. Sadly I can not find one mmorpg at this time that has it right. I am pretty soon going to cave and go to Monster Hunter World, it seems to be so far away from the concept of the common MMO but the bosses are legendary and I find myself just watching people fight them on twitch while listening to music and I think that it has the real meat of what MMO's bring to the table without all the excess time consuming fat on the gameplay.
So sad. I have spent some time in Ark and only like official servers so that game is horrible. Been playing conan exiles and it looks great and I love building but it isn’t survival anymore. Nothing is dangerous and there isn’t anything to do.

Played Albion for a year, still occasionally log in to see how its going. 100% agree with this, skill ceiling was too low. Even if you do the content made to force equal number fights(HG's and GvG), you quickly realize its not about how you play. Its about: Are you playing whats good? (the meta) and do you have better gear.

This is true if the two parties are equal in skill. There's so much room nowadays when you can kill someone with (you having worst equips) just playing it better. I think ppl that are complainning just dont grasp the concept that albion is a game when one day you're the hunter and the other day you're the hunted. Ppl like to think that they're the top dog, and if they're dieing, it's the game fault.

I think you're right about that, it is annoying when games almost always require large teams to survive, especially when you can't use superior knowledge or tactics to survive solo. However, you gotta admit, those large scale skirmishes are pretty sick. Also, when it does come to large scale skirmishes, you rely on your team operating at maximum efficiency.
I certainly had fun playing, just not enough for long term.

Tibia's PvP system back in 7.4 - 7.6 was the best for this type of games. (The Normal mode.)
It was fairly simple, the world was Open PvP except on the Deposit\Bank building and a very few other exceptions. Newbies start on a PvE island and then move to PvP Mainland at Lv.8.
If you attack an unflagged player you get flagged with a white skull. If you stop attacking and don't get attacks you become unflagged 15 minutes later. If you kill the player you get flagged for 1h. If you kill , I think it was 7 players in a week or 3 players or more in 24h you get a red skull for 2 days. If you keep killing you'll eventually get a black skull.
If you die with no skull you'd have a chance to lose each one of your equipment items plus your BackPack (You'd always lose that) If you had a white skull you'd have higher chance of dropping each item. With a red skull you'd drop every item on your body. You'd also lose exp and skills when dying. With no skull, skull and red skull the loss would increase. So players would generally not kill one another for nothing. They'd save frags to assert dominance overs mobs and to help friends in need. Needless to say killing flagged players wouldn't flag the killer. Nor would it could towards the next tier skull. So PK hunting was totally viable.

@Kaboom Baby lets say a match-up with a skilled riven against a poppy. the riven il know how to bait her skills, so she can beat the poppy. yes, it il be a difficult lane to riven, but knowing what to do and when to do dictates a game. Also, a JG can gank or even camp your lane, making the counter pick not as effective, because the riven can have xp and gold advantage.
I say that as a person that did main sion, and most of the time people did counterpicks, but i had the skill to bait some skills and the right time to charge and do an all-in. a counterpick does leave you with some advantage, but with you are smart, you can diminish the advantage or even nullify it.

Riven is, according to champion.gg sitting at 48-49% winrate the current patch. If she’s so op, how does that work?
A good Riven is extremely oppressive and strong, but imo that’s how it should be. She’s one of the hardest mechanical champions in the game. If you manage to get good on her, ofc you should be climbing!
Grp vs grp pvp always been about numbers. Anything 5v5 and lowerer is about knowledge and gears. When talking strictly skill base, games like dota and street fighter are what skills are about.
Albion vet here, just started the video, but I can already guess that I'm going to agree with everything said here.
I played the game when it first came out and had a little fun with it. Progression was basically dependent on your ability to obtain resources and point distribution in the big web of a "skill" tree.
The big issue for me occured when I tried to get resources to go up a tier (5-6, can't remember which as it was a long time ago). I found that hardcore players, who basically out tiered me by 2 or 3 tiers, would go to lower tier farming spots and get all of the resources very quickly. If they found you, they would essentially follow you around and grab any resource you were trying to get.
Why would they do this? Early game was basically filled to the brim with scalpers: players who grouped together to create an artificial need for lower tier resources so that you'd be forced to buy it from them in order to actually progress.
The only way to combat this was to have more people than them gathering and/or have friendly higher tier people help you out. That, or have a large guild back you.
I'm guessing Legends of Aria is just gonna be the same, huh?
Goddamn, I just want to play a risky MMO where being a crafter is fun and matters...

Played thr trial and bought after 6 hours of playing. Its pretty addictive if you like grinding.

I am thinking of getting this Albion Online game but need some info first, 1 do you pay premium with in game currency (gold or silver) or is that a optional, 2 is the grinding long and hard, 3 do you need to buy a starter pack to keep playing for good and 4 can you save and load anywhere plus tips and hints, I don't like combat but like gathering and trading, thank you.
All i want, and the only reason i play Albion is cuz i want a MMO where crafting and gathering is an option.... i like doing guild stuff but i mostly play solo, getting materials, and crafting gear to sell to other players. I like those types of MMO's but they are far and few ... T-T

I do think you should play FF14, if the monthly sub doesn't rub you the wrong way. Besides the tab-target combat, it also has a pretty nice crafting system.
This game is absolutely torturous for solos don't do it .... spent 800 hours trying to be good at something not as a piece of meat within the bag but as a solo individual.... It's just not how things go in this game

I'm sorry to hear that. When I played Albion the first time it was around a year ago and I did solo gathering. After a month of grinding, I was just where I begun. I thought the game was boring.
Two months ago I started playing again, bu this time started doing small scale pvp content. They added solo dungeons that you can invade, and it's mostly 1v1, 2v2 (or 2v1 if you come prepared B-). They've also added Hellgates, which are a small 2v2 dungeon that you try to complete while competing with your enemies at the same time. I still don't feel like joining large guilds and doing mandatory ZvZ fights, so I play solo or in small groups, and honestly, have a blast.
So now already 2019. It is a good time for the new and casual player start to play this mmo?

Im late to this video but i have to agree with your statement on the general pvp side to the game. As well as others now that its been almost 2 years since this video was released. The bigger issue now imo is that with the pandemic going on around the world it allowed people to explore more games such as Albion which immediately showed us that the game is not set for a large scale of players. You either share farming locations with 10 other people no matter where you settle in the Blue/Yellow zones or you risk it for the biscuit and try to go out and farm in the Red/Black zones which have now become hot beds for gankers all the time. With the increase of players pvp has become a huge problem since it forces you to do that and only that. This is something that you wouldn't argue against but then why have pve content? Its either join a large zerg guild(which atm 4 guilds rule the Black Zones entirely) or you get ganked. There's no longer an in-between. I joined a guild who i ran BZ dungeons with and i kid you not we would get through 1 dungeon and either be ganked coming out or get hit inside as we finished. It makes the 'end game' pointless unless you merge your guild to one of the major 4 asap so you can have time to run dungeons or you pay one of those guilds hourly to stand around your dungeon/farm stop in order to do 1 things. Which makes it even more pointless since you have to waste money in hopes of a rare drop to pay for it which sounds cool but given that the top guilds have free roam of the BZ's, they make their own gear for GvG's or ZvZ's so your 8.3 staff that sells for 1.2 mill won't ever be sold unless someone buys it accidentally.
This may sound like a casual bitching about the game and sure whatever but this is why they had a low pop of players and probably why they will after the pandemic is over. It doesn't appeal to the amount of people they need to support this game when most people can't adequately achieve anything when you're fighting over all of it from the moment you log on to when you finally say fuck it and go back to COD. They need to add pve content that will keep people playing. And no im not talking about T4/5 dungeons

1 vs 10 fight is not PVP. I was a gatherer, and I loved doing it, but I was wasting a lot of time running away from gankers and the game became tiresome because of that. The truth is that gatherers in this game are only meat for sociopathic gankers.

You don't need to, video shown here is very biased and mostly dishonest, showing edge scenario cases of very bad decisions player made, but blaming the game. Sad people make an effort to even lie to put down a game.
Points that I failed to mention because I was too busy trolling.
1. The war on gold sellers. The market was flooded by gold bought by stolen CC's and it heavily tarnished the gameplay. Also it brought on heavy and reckless ban waves.
2. Hellgate diversity. Hellgates were one of the best features of the game but they wasted so much potential with them. Yellow hellgates were relegated to being "practice" hellgates that would never prepare you for red/black. And there was no adequate stepping stone in between the two. Also the lack of a 3 man hellgate was disappointing and the blue hellgate was the biggest joke waste of time.
3. Transparency... or the lack of. Sandbox constantly lies about everything imaginable and handled multiple issues very poorly early on in the games life. The DDoS attacks that crippled the game for weeks were never talked about by the company with even a shred of honesty. Hell to this day I am not even sure they even were DDoS attacks. Also multiple shady issues with Sandbox dealing with players/clans that I can't recall off the top of my head.
Also Albino Offline is the greatest game in the world.
Uhh dnt forget, the lack of certain materials(t5) mats.
The peak "exp/fame" gain was and even after the nerfs, is in instances.
These set "Dungeons" have multiple design flaws that made em un fun + no pvp ...
Trial keys are easy acess for bots + the game needs those...
Fishing is poorly inbalanced
One Sever (usa) means high ping for eu + others.
A game desinged around zerging dnt worked with 150 peps in One zone , nowa days its better but still laggy af close the cap ~400
At launch for 2-3 months chestfarming was the only real way of income

Me and my friends tried Albion last year but quit due to lack of small scale content, as we usually play as 2-3 man groups wanting to enjoy open world engagements. Today they will launch a massive update to open world content, and I'm giving it a new shot, not convinced they will make it enjoyable in the long term for players like us, but it's a good start, they're finally realizing that far from all players want to play an open world sandbox when all you do is either instanced content or zvz, maybe worth it for you to check out as well :)

This video is for 3y ago , as a player who has been playing this game for 2y i have to say that what you saying is right , however they fixed alot of those problems nowdays if you are realy skilled in game you can fight outnumbered but rep system is still in game and red zones are still hard to pk on but they changed blackzone so now you can go with like 10 players or 5 if they are good and have a nice time and fights , max number you normaly see there is 20 people , and also they added a debuff so if you go with like 100 people and try to take a zone you get cc and dmg debuff up to about 60% for 400 players , this wont solve problem fully but it helps alot if the enemy zerg is not good in game you can fight back 2 to 1 or 3 v1

its been 2 years since this video and this is still true im a hardcore tank player in dota and a bruiser top laner in league and when i played albion i thought i could play a tanky role so i went for the "warrior" tree with full plate armor and a 2 handed claymore but i dont understand how im supposed to outplay an assasin who deals 75% to 100% of my health bar whilst being invisible the whole time ._. the only reason im still playing is cuz i wanna ride a mammoth ._.
I suggest looking up builds. There are certain slots armor types that are better for what you're trying to accomplish. Like I'm a crossbow build and I have Merc hood (My only leather-based item) for the cleanse so I'm not getting CC'd. I have cleric's robe for everlasting spirit which gives me sustain after being damage. Mage sandals for the teleport. Sure, you can use full plate, but there are benefits from branching off and trying to find harmony in your build. Take your weakness, and change it, it's a sandbox game.
Dude Pay Attention To Build Guides Just DOn't Pick What You THINK Is Good Just Search Up Good Tank Tutorials And You Were Probably Against A Higher Lvl Player Who Actually KNEW What He Was Doing

I played Albion for a long while, quit a few months ago because as the video suggests surviving as a small group is near impossible. I tried mega-alliances and zerg fights, but it really wasn't for me. There is no skill involved in Albion's zerg gameplay. I tried small group PvP and ganks, which is frankly the only place where player skill and decisions matter -also 5v5s ofc-. But then again, small group's content is really limited, it's either instanced 5v5 fights or trying to hunt a transporter in a red zone after waiting for 30 minutes for someone to pass by. It got really repetitive and boring, so I quit.
Do I have to PvP tho? I want to unlock all the skills

I agree, im playing 2 days.. and it feels TOO MUCH like mobile game... sandbox mmorpg isnt the Market or Target audience for mobile wtf... mobile players are most CASUAL players...
They should re-design the game for PC / maybe consoles... so their server wouldnt suck as well.. cant even sustain 20-30k concurrent users without lag...
Second of all, the world map is TOO SMALL for a single shard sandbox.... and randomized procedual maps should be a thing.... (i tihnk the dungeons are with map item or smt...)

I clicked on this Video and thought that you showing an example of an Albion online ad at the start. So it took me a few second to realise that, no, that really is an Albion online Ad.
This sounds an awful lot like why I stopped playing Planetside 2. Constant zergfests, though in PS2 the opposing Zergs would avoid each other. So you either joined the zerg and only got capture XP, or you joined a single figure group of players and sniped out of the spawn room until just before the base was capped. No fun either way.
The PvP system sounds like how Tree of Life was ruined. If you did any crime you would be endlessly griefed by "good" players. I don't know why devs make marked "bad" players absolutely repercussion free to attack

Beta 1 was great, exactly as you say! It was how the game was pitched to everyone... not it's just zerging, if you aren't part of a large alliance you have no business playing the game simple as that :/
I played Albion for 3 months after release. I couldn't agree more with what you've said. In diluting the PvP (and even expanding focus on Expeditions, instanced PvE content), they tried to appeal to everyone and only succeeded in appealing to no one.
I hope you make another review in 2021 with a new character and see how the game is, so far for me as a new player, all i see it higher level players being toxic in chat, I don't mind gankers it is part of the game, i got ganked twice and i learned things from that, but the toxic community definitely discourages me to continue.

While I knew why I disliked the game, I feel like this video helped me understand the underlying issue. I always hated the game because it felt boring. The promise of being able to just harvest resources and contribute to a bigger picture was never delivered on. Quickly, any guild I joined seemed to either disband or get consumed into a bigger guild. Its a boring game with no depth that tries to cater to a hardcore market with its general design but at the same time somehow tries to make the game casual friendly. In the end creating a game that should be great, but remains shallow.

This is why you limit the fight over a particular zone to a weekly affair, allow any guild to sign up to fight (but limit the overall all number of guilds involved), and limit the number of guild members per guild involved in the weekly fight over the territory based on a first-come, first serve basis, i.e. the first 5 guilds with 100 members that sign up are IN, the rest get to watch (and cannot attack or be attacked). The winners control the zone for a minimum of 7 days, and get some special perk, like free loot boxes daily or something. We seriously need devs that think outside the box and quit rehashing the same crap that never works.

I've played since release and have tried some of the earlier betas (thought I didn't devote much time to those). I think your criticism is largely on-point and some things can definitely improve. I hadn't heard a criticism of red zone reputation loss that was as convincing as yours, bravo.
That said, in an open-world game like AO numbers are going to be very important. 15 people should have a huge advantage over 5. Even with this advantage, it is possible to fight outnumbered, but this eliminates the idea of "play how you want"; most successful outnumbered fights have people running very specific weapons and it requires you to hold a choke and be patient. Of course, this doesn't apply to reds getting swarmed by blues, so I have only praise for your criticism of reputation.
I actually got an ad for Albion while watching, and for a few seconds I thought it was part of the video. What a twist.
I'll be honest, I got caught in the hype for Albion when it came out. I never heard of it until it's commercial released and that got me to buy it. At first everything was amazing, but what killed it more than anything was how the developers treated the player base with their complaints. It was just a major turn off when someone had an honest complaint and was met with being threatened with a ban.

I requested this video, as I currently play Albion as the only decent sandbox PvP MMO, and I don't disagree at all with your points. I've often found myself wondering what happened to the smaller group PvP that existed in games like DAoC where 8 men groups roamed constantly. I'm not sure of a way to fix the zerging problem in Albion, as it permeats all layers have the game, it's not just about fighting with more numbers. Larger guilds lock huge supplies of high tier mats and gatherers as well

I still go back to private Ultima online servers every so often but God it would be nice to have a modern pvp mmo that isn't garbage. Crowfall looked promising but the amount off changes took it way off course.

I played a similar MMO called Shadowbane back in the day. The game saw similar issues and was ironically ruined by player organization. Every server had one massive guild that controlled everything with no one to fight.
This game is probably has more players than gw2 right now.
