- Jim Bennett, a professor of literature played by Mark Wahlberg, also gambles heavily in secret. Always willing to take chances, Bennett risks everything when he borrows money from a gangster and puts his own life up as security. That’s a lot more then 24k he win playing black Jack.
200k, bets are 10, 20, 40, 80 and then a blackjack
Good narration
Thank you!
Except for the small errors. He won way more the 24k at black Jack. Each of those chips was 10k.
The movie doesn't get the numbers right.
He owes $240 to Korean
Bottows $50($60K) from black guy
Pays $40 to Korean
Making his debts
Korean $200K
Black guy $60K
He borrows $260K from John Goodman
He borrows $150K from Korean making his debts:
$350 to Korean
$60K to black guy
$260 to John G
He pays the $150K to basketball player
Takes $260K n bets on the game making $520K
Pays black guy $60K
Leaving $460K
Owes Korean $350
John G $260
He doubles the $460 making $920K
Pays Korean $350K
Pays John G $260K
Total: $610
$920
-$610
$320K leftover yet John says he has $100K left over
Where's his other $220K
interests
He is a good citizens that pays taxes. 😂
@@rafaelferdinandaltamirano4509 realized that after but only John had interest and 10% so $26K more still leaving $294K
Black guys interest was included $50K for $60K. Korean always says the amount owed was $240, $200 after paying $40K. Even with 10% on the $150K that's another $15K still at $279K
Maybe the bet was -8, -110 meaning he makes $260K + $234K for $494K so $26K difference still $253K not $100K
@@caspervincentius8392 lol
@@rafaelferdinandaltamirano4509the only interest was to John Goodman at 10% so he owes him $286K, the black guys included $50L=$60K. Korean always says total amount $240K - $40K for $200K. Say he adds 10% to the $150 that's $365K to Korean
$60K to black guy
$286K to John Goodman
Say he bets $260K -8 at -110 he has $260K plus $234K for $494K.
$494-$60K for black guy has $434K. He bets it all in black for $868K
Owes $365 to Korean
$286 to John
$651K owed total from $868K
$868K-$651K still equals $217K not $100K
he offerd money back he rann off i would have took it
He probably was afraid what he'd do if he had it in his hands. That's why he left it on the table and didn't touch it. Any money he touches in the movie he gambles away.
that's the plot, he always win but lose it all in the end. So he just put an end to gambling without taking the money he won through gambling, no more attachment

Dumbest movie ever made
hhahaha
I’m curious, why you say that? I thought the ending made it worth it.
