Anyone that gambles knows the hardest part is stopping while your ahead
lol true
nd when you lose, you feel one game is going change your life so you play...but a Gambler plays with luck..a Player plays with brain...
I disagree. The hardest part is digging a yourself into a hole and then chasing your money with bigger bets. Lose, and the hole gets so large that there is no coming back.
I agree with justin the hardest part is when you have a tenth of the chips that your opponents do and have to try to get back into the competition without going bust.
Only if you’re stupid addict, pro gamblers stop whenever they want
Satisfied to lose. The look of a gambler right there.

i've read down and chose you to say these words which i practice every time i go to vegas, i never gamble any where else, just there, that way there is no small losing or small winning, anytime you are up,i mean up like this guy, walk over to the cash window and tell them to write you a check,a casino check, and ask for an envelope and a stamp and drop in the mail out slot outside,if you ask for a check they won't follow you to your car, done this many times at many casinos, always felt good when the check arrives and i'm still in one piece, and they still lost and i WON
I SWEAR TO GOD
He never does. He loses the house edge every time he bets any amount. Its just that the loss manifests all at once during one round. This round is impossible to predict. Thats why we take the expected loss of one round and divide it by the average number of rounds needed for that losing round to show up. And there you have the house edge. Of course all this depends on the law of large numbers. Given a small number of rounds the result is genuine impossible to predict. However a real gambler never plays a small number of rounds. And even if one did, there are so many players that the law of large numbers HAS to kick in. And with it, the mathematical edge and the casino profits. See the mathematical edge of the casino. Know it and fear it. Cheerio.

@@steventhomas5380 With the rake, the Casino still always wins.

In a real casino they don’t announce your bet, and if they did they would say twenty thousand, not twenty thousand dollars. The whole point of converting cash to chips is so that you lose touch with how much real money you’re betting.
I have bet 20 thousand once and it felt the same.
Looks like an underground illegal casino, not Ballys.
They let the floor supervisor know when you play alot of money by calling out the color of the chip for instant if you play a 500 dollar hand they call black out
Checks play!
Actually they do announce max bet at tbls sometimes... this was an underground casino. So they would follow big players around watching them to make sure they can handle the action

This clip brings to mind a scene in "Two for the Money," a pretty forgettable movie with Pacino and McConaughey. Pacino goes to a gamblers support group and talks about how it's not the wins that made him feel the most, it was the losses. Wahlberg's character almost shows *relief* when he loses.

My fiancee became a gambling addict and lost her life savings in just 1 week on a stupid online game that you dont even win real money. Didn't know until she told me crying, she kept asking for more money to put on that game, it was literally like she was a drug addict. She kept having that itch to gamble, I was about to break up with her but I needed to help her at least get rid of the addiction. We got married at Vegas and she gets mad when I follow her around when she gambles. Every time she's up she don't know when to stop and loses everything but this time wasn't that much

This scene was so intense to watch and a wake up call after I blew $60 an roulette. This movie is so underrated and misunderstood and is one of the most important films of my life. I've never seen a character that is so utterly uncompromising in the real world. He's not a gambling addict. He's not attempting to "feel" alive. He's challenging the very fabrics of modern life in order to be alive not "feel" alive. Money is life for most people so he disregards it. Fear of pain and the avoidance of discomfort is life for most people, so he invites it. He's attempting to lift the veil of pretense, ceremony, and platitudes, using honesty as a sword and cutting through it all on his terms. The cost is high though. Bodily harm, alienating family and friends, and sabotaging your own career for the sake of truth and the only really forces that exist, life and death. No compromise, no nuance, 50/50, is or isn't, red or black. He's racing to that existential horizon, looking for answers and the only way to get those answers is to be all in. I love this movie.
It's a remake

Someone once said the least stressful time gambling is when they lose it all because they can actually go to sleep at night without having to worry whether they will make more the next day or give it right back. That right there means it’s time to stop gambling.
nice
Been thier and won. The next thought after the adrenalin wears off is who is with me and how do I break this up so we can get from point a to point be. No one sees you when you loose. But when you get pulled into a room to get paid out it seems like every one knows 🤔 you have alot of walk around money on you.
It might not sound like a lot but i won $1300 at the casino on video poker with just $100 within the 1st 30 minutes I was there and a buddy gave me the $100 to play with just to take him up there so he could play poker. As soon as i won i told him i was gone,so went to cash out and the lady counted all the cash right in front of a ton of people and even said congrats out loud and all that but nobody batted an eye. Lol. Everyone just seemed depressed and was ready to cash out their few bucks they had left and go the hell home broke. People aren't paying you no attention even if you walk out with like $10,000 cash I'm sure of and they would get shot if they tried anything anyways.
The entire movie is about Wahlberg's character getting to the same position in life as his grandfather started. That place of nothingness and anxiety of what is to come when we are only in control of our own lives.

Im an athlete, great shape, very competitive with an ability to cope with lose. Nothing is more adrenaline rushing than gambling for money, my heart would pound like I was running a sprint. This is the addiction.
My observation. First hand 10k no siders throughout the session. Plays against an ace if I saw it properly. He couldn't take insurance cuz he was all in. Hits the 13, gets an 8 so 21. We don't see what the dealer pulls, guessing a 6, 7, 8 or 9 since he won. Next hand he goes in with the 20k has a 14 vs a dealer bust card a 4, you stand those. Dealer has a 2 under, pulls two 10's, and he gets 40k. Last hand he gets a blackjack vs a dealer 10 later on to be a 20. Makes from the 40k if it's 3 to 2 payout or maybe cuz it's underground it's just a double up or a 6 to 5 payout. Should have around a 100k after he walked. Puts it all on black and loses. My guess is, even if he won at roulette, he wouldn't have stopped. You can see it in his expression and the sigh after he loses. That weird, twisted relief a gambler gets when he loses it all. A bittersweet and honestly awful feeling.
weird there's atleast one queen on all 4 blackjack hands
It’s the dopamine “high “ the gambler is after. The addiction is the same as cocaine.
