- The Xiaomi 13 Ultra takes everything I already loved about the Xiaomi 13 Pro and pushes the envelope even further -- with an added super telephoto lens rounding out the four 50MP cameras on the rear and a configuration including the 1-inch style IMX989 sensor. All put into a sleek and stylish design that gets further support from a real photography-forward case and grip accessory kit! @@ezradanger it's not a real battery pack... It has 300 mAh, just to feed the grip 's function, but I think it's okay... So the phone doesn't loose running time because of the grip...

@@stefanmichels6980 still better than hollow, which is what I thought. That would be a shame. It would be too chunky for a proper battery pack.
The video coming out of the 1x and ultra wide lens is pretty impressive.
Damn! That Back camera video providing natural DSLR looking blur is incredible. It seems that it's back camera is perfect in photos and videos. 😮

I am EXTREMELY impressed by the telephoto portrait mode. As a photographer who's favorite lens is the 135 2.0L on Canon FF, I am effn impressed, and a bit worried, given how it's gotten so good in such a short amount of time, and especially A.I, real A.I...

If the Oppo Find X6 Pro had been launched globally, that would be in my pocket. After viewing this coverage, I'll admit I'm glad it didn't because this looks like another step above. Excellent coverage as usual, Joshua.
This is another promotional video for the newly introduced phone. Do you really want to see something bad about a phone that was sent for the purpose of advertising in a promotional review? The front camera is still the same disgusting 1080p / 30fps as in Xiaomi 13 Pro, charging is 90 W, not 120 as in Xiaomi 13 Pro, the microphone is located at the end of the case, which perfectly captures the wind just like in Xiaomi 13 Pro, so the video quality will be deteriorate due to poor sound quality. The proximity sensor here is software, not hardware, because of this there will be problems when talking, as was the case in the budget and mid-range segment of Xiaomi phones. Bloggers, of course, won't tell you about it. But they can make you buy another new product for a huge price.

@@ChrisJohannsen This is only your opinion and the opinion of some bloggers who are biased for some reason (fulfillment of contractual obligations for advertising, fanboyism). There are other good phones that will be better than Xiaomi 13/Pro/Ultra in some ways. For example, Oppo Find X6 Pro, Vivo x90 Pro+, Honor Magic 5 Pro, Meizu 20 Pro/Infinity. There is no best phone, there is a phone that is relatively good in terms of features for its price. With regards to Xiaomi 13 Pro, I cannot say this, since it is the most expensive among classmates (from 1300 euros)
I'm grateful to survive my heart attack encounter a few months back. Though some issue occurs from time to time, it does help to keep a positive outlook.
Otherwise this phone rocks, and I especially like the phone grip accessory. Pretty great 👍🏻
The video quality out of the box is superb, just imagine when you get your hands on the retail version and can tweak the settings.. lookin' forward to the real world review.

Wow that zoom is incredible. Great colors on all lenses and I love the auto use without tinkering with too many settings since that's how I, and the majority, use phones.

Xiaomi took the Lumia 1020 accessories and cranked it to 11, really considered this, would buy if goes global
funny enough, Huawei poached Head of Photography from Nokia that made the Lumia; from there they collaborate with Leica. Sans split collaboration, Leica chose Xiaomi and Huawei still retain the technology has produce X-Image. I still call it a win.

Impressive stuff from Xiaomi, looks like they worked hard having this well optimized out of the gate. Looking forward to more content and your real world tests. The camera grip option is very practical and well integrated, definitely would get it. Any ETA for global release? But considering the global price of the 13 pro, this one will be a difficult sell, although the China local price is very good. maybe get one of these and flash a global ROM later....

The only downside is the front camera, it's not that good compared to Samsung and iPhone.

Few things as a warnig for Xiaomi users:
- I was so hyped and happy to buy Xiaomi 11 Ultra when it came out. That was now almost two years ago, I bought the thing, paid a lot of money and I was generally happy with the way it performed.
- after one year, the Wifi chip died for no reason whatsoever, I always take a great care of my things and equipment and it was never dropped, or even slightly scratched. It happened for no reason, literally.
- I was in New Zealand at the time, so I had to wait to come back to my country to claim the warranty.
- I took lots of photos and videos while in NZ and could not back any of it up to my online storage because it would be too expensive to do it over cellphone data.
- not long after I returned from NZ, the phone just died with notification saying "your system has been destroyed", with 175 gigs of data (photos and videos on it).
- I claimed warranty, and it's been three months now, the repair guys can't do anything because they are waiting for Xiaomi to send a new device as a replacement. My data is probably gone forever too.
- Xiaomi support does not exist. I tried emailing them, opening support tickets, sending messages on their facebook page - but in vain. They just don't care. Their phones have great specs but are so incredibly unstable and full of flaws.
- I promised to myself I'll never buy any more products. They are often great on paper and spec wise, but in reality they are just so unsable and unreliable.
So yeah, if you ask me, I'd avoid buying this one.

Thank you for this video. I would love to upgrade to this phone but I recently purchased one of Xiaomi's other phones with a 200 MP camera. My main reason for purchasing a phone is it's camera and storage and from what you described, this phone has exactly what I look for in a phone. Thanks again for the video.

I love this video. I have been using the 12S Ultra for the last seven months and totally happy with it but will buy the 13 Ultra as soon as I can get that awesome grip here in Saigon where I live. The camera is already here. Ps. I love that yurt.

The Zenfone zoom was the closest at being a phone, however the periscope design took too much space compared to multiple sensors

why xiaomi didn't made the extra grip as an extend battery supply like 3.000mAh power bank?
They missed an opportunity with the grip.
They could easily add another battery in the empty space there.
This would make the camera something that would hold a whole trip of photos and video.

I remember the days when this brand was keep recommended by my friends. Its like ' I never heard of this brand, is it trusted, is okay etc ". Out of curiosity, i tried it and until now im still using this brand as my personal and main handset.

What a treat ! By China, who welcome friends & business. Imagine how those leaders who currently receiving the same type & better welcoming hand . It's a great looking camera which I am glad that a phone company put camera their 1st priority which is important to me. Can afford a leica but perhaps a few of these is good to go along as I upgraded them .

The colour wildy varies between the lenses: The output is severely oversaturated on the back cameras but undersaturated on the front camera . The camera case however is pretty awesome - makes it look like a Ricoh GR III (so may be expect a law suit soon). If they get the colour science and software right, this could be a game-changer.

hey Joshua, in the launch XM claimed that it has less sharpening and showed comparison with iphone 14 and even the P60 pro, I have a p50pro just for testing harmony os and i can confirm its jpg are all over-sharpened. Is this processing unique to the Ultra 13 or is it also in the existing Pro 13?
I have my old sweet Lumia 1020 vibes... Even the photocamera case is almost the same

Very Ricoh GR-ish. I like it, but the cameras, from the reviews I've seen, aren't anything to be blown away by. They're pretty much in line with top tier Galaxy and iPhone.
When is the global version supposed to be out? And where do we buy?

From the samples i saw till now, i cold say that 13 ultra doesn't have this WOW factor that could make someone who have already o top of 2023 phone.
