Figuring in that you knew the doors were garbage and to pick a pipe, you had a 50% chance, then a 33% chance then a 50% chance, and you got all 3 in a row first try. Roughly 8.3% chance of that happening
While Ryu missed a 1/3 pick a pit in the beginning of the first level, the chance of getting the remaining three picks on the first try was 1/4 * 1/3 * 1/2 = 1/24 or ~4%. Not bad.

Dare I say - level one was actually well-designed hot garbage. There was narrative and anticipation with the pick-a-paths. Sections like the conveyer pushing against the player weren't brutally long. It also wasn't the way overdone trope of endless 50-50 gotchas. Just an old-fashioned semi-obnoxious elements, some decent actual platforming obstacles, and that one spiny conveyer loop machine was just flat out cool and creative.
Idk if am an actual OG of this channel but it's my first time seeing him without a beard (i used to watch him way back in MM1 on super expert 100 life runs)
Ryu def gets carded at the liquor store now. Also when he used that shell to take out the piranha plant line in that first level I fully expected there to be a row of invisible blocks one tile above the plants so if you take them out (cause duh) you softlock
