He's a retired Mining Engineer, a prolific field collector, a part-time mineral dealer, a Civil Service Volunteer, a loving husband and SO much more. Les grew up in that exciting time when part-time mineral dealers were becoming full-time mineral dealers and a lot of old mines were still, somewhat, open for exploration. He's explored, and collected from, many classic mines that continue to remain legendary to this day, side-by-side with his childhood buddy Wayne Thompson. He has stories and, maybe more importantly, specimens from those times and more that he gladly shares with us in this fun and jovial interview.
Les is a man for all ages and is one of the most knowledgable people on the mines and minerals of Arizona.
