Gorgeous! Tfs! Sorry for so many questions, but do you by chance make your solder? I have made some that just wont flow and my metal ends up melting before my solder even balls up and just never flows. I followed some instructions from an old instructors solder "recipe". I flux and make sure everything is cleaned well.

Is the ruby heat treated or fractured filled ?

The Jewellery Workshop heat treated means the ruby was not gem Quality but was heated over 3000F for about 3 hours or longer and it becomes gem Quality after that. And fracture field means they sprayed it with liquid glass to fill in the cracks to make it gem quality. Honestly it kind of looks like a spinal. But that’s just me. Ruby’s can be light pink to really dark pink and even be 5 point star Rubies.

When you heat gold, if it is not pure gold, the colour will go black or dark
