  • F9 present - The Definitive Guide to Vocal remixing - A 3-part video tutorial covering all aspects of vocal remixing.
    www.f9-audio.com
    During the 3 videos, we will create a vocal house remix from start to finish. Even though we are working in Logic and in House music, we are concentrating on the vocals - How to set them up, process them, re-enforce them with musical parts and show you a unique parallel processing system that can save you headaches ( and politics ) when remixing at the highest levels.
    In this video, we start to arrange our remix and process the dry vocals using parallel processing techniques
    We have used 2 Sample packs to create this remix :

    You can now use TRAX instruments to make sample packs
    It's with great pride we announce that effective from June 1, 2023, all F9 playable instruments and kits have been granted license for usage in the development of audio loops. These loops can be included in commercial sample packs designed for your personal use, your individual sampler store, or for third-party platforms such as Loopcloud, Splice, Arcade, NI sounds and more. There's only one restriction to bear in mind: the midi. When creating for these releases, you must compose original musical or rhythmic parts and avoid using any midi or musical motifs from this or any other F9 release.
    This updated licensing term now encompasses stem creation and "track-outs," which are frequently seen in beat marketplaces. It also applies to ghost production and collaborative projects. Our goal is to provide you with even greater flexibility and creative potential in your music production endeavours.

    Priceless: "The first thing that any, ANY single artist I've ever worked with says is: Can we turn the vocals up?"

    Great tutorial here, possibly the best on TH-cam for this in my opinion!!
    There is not many on this subject today's producers have it so easy with Daws like Ableton etc lol, we use to have to do all time stretching manually on old studio samplers of the 90s, it was so difficult to get it right lol took lot of time was not always perfect either, sampling breaks for rave jungle hardcore UK Garage , house etc vocal stretching more was very time consuming process on hardware

    Follow-up question: The multiple vocal tracks with different treatments. Are those handled via parallel busses, or are they duplicate tracks of the dry vocal? Wasn't sure what is the preferred and recommended method. I love the workflow, but wanted to understand the routing. TY.

    • @F9Audio
      @F9Audio  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey John - Dry vocal tracks duplicated .. that way you can always bounce them down and actually have the effects printed ... Also you can get creative - try a mid - short reverb and 8th delay , bounce it and shift it back an 8th - If you get the level right its quite etherial

    Brilliant video! Thanks James. Quick question.. when you layer the same vocal multiple times why doesn't it phase like other sounds would?

    • @AutPen38
      @AutPen38 ปีที่แล้ว

      Presumably because it's identical and placed at the same point in the timeline it stays in phase and is additive (makes the whole thing louder until you adjust the gain controls), but if it slipped a couple of milliseconds you'd get phase cancellation problems (some bits "disappearing") or the whooshing sound of an aeroplane taking off.

    Great video! I was wondering how to get this vocal build-up delay effect done in Ableton Live? I can't seem to get it right with a ping pong or filter delay.

    • @F9Audio
      @F9Audio  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Jannick - The new one in Live 10 will work very well - or for live 9 try adding a utility plug in after the ping pong delay then bringing the stereo image into zero - It's not quite as good as the bite on the Logic one but if you carefully automate the feedback then distort the output you should get close !
