Weld the sprocket. Or get the one driveshaft that’s in the U.S. Do anything but trade. For what that FD70 is gonna cost you you could completely rebuild that flex header inside to out and have you a completely reliable header for years to come. You keep trading every time something breaks down, you’re gonna stay in the cycle you’re in. Constantly trading for someone else’s problems that they traded in. A FD70 is a dang good header. But they’re more complicated than what you want to deal with. And a lot more complicated than that flex header you have now. And they’re expensive to work on. Also they’re getting old so there’s a good chance you’re going to have issues with the one you trade for. It took me 3 years and a lot of $$$ to get mine in good shape.
@Griggsfarmsllc is rt We have welded that sproket a bunch before to get by till the new part came in those deere headers are easy to rebuild yourself when you have the time but for the cost of that macdon you should consider looking at the auction during winter and go find ya a parts header that got good drive parts or even a spare header for when one breaks that's our go to when all else fails love both you guys content alot watch it everyday in tractor here in idaho
I agree with Matt. Don’t trade to another potential problem Dion weld that sprocket on there and roll on. As long as it’s cleaned and prepped and welded good that thing will last a long time and way cheaper than trading up to a new head. You know my story first gen farmer second year on my own. I can’t afford to trade up when they break I got to fix it the best I can and keep rolling. I have all old equipment with high hours on them. There not worth trading and I just can’t simply afford it. Fix that thing and roll on man
Weld the sprocket or get the driveshaft. If you trade you are getting another persons problem. Rebuild what you have. 37000 and 2400 is a big difference in cost.
Wassup Big D you should go ahead and get that new case they come with maintenance for 10yrs for free and a full tank of fuel your problems would be over with ✌🏾
Like JTs Barn an grill said harvest is just a series of breakdowns till your finished an I believe it. I wouldn’t be scared to bet my boss has spent enough money since we started cutting to buy a new machine. ✌🏾
we had our jd30f header we use to have break something like that during covid no parts to be found, so traded it at the time for the one we got now jd35f air crarey system then our 9750 combine the slip clutch bolt came off wrecked the shole gear box and the feeder house we lost 100 acres of soybeans it snow on them couldnt get parts. so stuff happens. we wanted to get a macdon but nobody has them here. our jd35f header is wore out as well we just jb weld it and it gets us by. we are going to start corn tomorrow so im sure right away we will have issues. hang in there man. we had a lot of issues as well theres always something.
Bennett Tractor Parts, Cooks up in Sikeston would be cheaper options. All I’m gone tell you the MacDons are nice but can be a bear, I’ve spent some money on ours. I’d also check with Hobbs Equipment over here in Arkansas in regard to a header. Unfortunately bro harvest is a bear, that’s actually when we start spending a lot of money.
How much could you find a Deere 35ftflex Draper for? Might be worth it to get one of those as Deere should have parts more readily available for those cause of popularity amongst customers
@@dionwadefarmsllc man, you doing fine. Trust in The Lord, and don't lean to your own understanding. He's got you bro! I'm one of your biggest fans, being a black man raised up on a farm. Praying for you, and the kids! Be blessed!
