Battery. My lads will do exactly the same if the battery voltage drops. Needs to be north of 12.5 volts to fire. Are you getting a spark at the plug? Also check the side stand cut out. Try filling the float bowls manually, as you had done previously, your aux bottle may not be pulling through if you haven’t got a vacuum.
I didn't even consider the battery to be honest, but it was charged at the start, only wore it down through cranking. Definitely try it though. Cheers.
The reason you're start button won't work is caused by a faulty neutral switch or it's not connected,if you earth the neutral switch wire it will cure the problem with the starter solenoid.
Had this on a few bikes when In neutral the switch should close and give an earth to the starter solenoid, once in gear it disconnects so you can't turn the starter motor when the bike is running.
All I can say karl is check fuel, ignition, compression and timing. The car battery issue is just a dealer rip off have to pay a premium for their battery then pay a dealer £70 to tell the car it's got a new battery, it's all bullshit. They want, when you buy a car and say you want heated seats, up market hi fi, electric windows stuff like that, the manufacturers want to charge the owner a monthly fee for these extras and if you don't pay the dealers can switch them off remotely and if you sell the car the new owner would have to pay the monthly fee to keep those extras, fucking rip off merchants.
Defo sounds like timing. not even trying to start, popping into exhaust, vapour smell around airbox, but you say that you had it running. What did it start up like before?, what was it running like?. I`ve not worked on a GPZ but I would hazard a guess that it uses a wasted spark system which means on a twin you can`t mix the plug leads and uses a crank position sensor for ignition timing that`s fixed?. Think I would go back to basic`s, make sure you have a spark, fuel getting to plugs, carbs not flooding out, make 100% sure valve/ignition timing ok, spin engine over without plugs in and let it dry out and then I would try it with a new set of plugs. Did it start up ok before by going across the solenoid. I worked for a Mercedes dealership for 15 yrs and would never buy one ( and I think BMW are worse ). The old adage of the simpler the better doesn`t seem to translate into German, they seem to think that the more complicated the better which is fine until something goes wrong and you end up thinking why is this car making me poor.
Yes I agree with you, its sounds like timing, but it makes no sense at all, the week before it was firing up just fine and idling perfectly. It's in my last video so you can see for yourself. How can the timing move when all that has happen is the bike sat under a cover for a week. Anyway, everything you have suggested makes perfect sense and I will carry out the checks you have suggested. Still very odd though!
Check the ignition coils and stator, I recently had to replace the coils and plugs , and I’m in the process of replacing the stator , starter is good but might replace it while I’m at it
did you check for constant spark, as last time you had to giggle the wires to get a spark and the rear light was on, at first it wasnt on in the video but it was then on, sounds like a bad connector on the harness ???
I @@motorcyclejunkie7564 I noticed on my bike that it hates old gas(even a week or two old). It could be this, or you could try starting it with starting spray or deodorant(just for a second so that it can start running on the fuel).

How long since it has run. Check for fuel spark. More than lightly blocked jets and crap in the carbs.
It ran and idled perfectly just a week before. Very strange?
@@motorcyclejunkie7564 maybe a fouled or dodgy spark plug
@@noelg3384 Possibly? I’ll get a couple of new ones.
@@motorcyclejunkie7564try with starting spray
@@IPCRo Already did, just makes it backfire.

The neutral light is connected but not working. I will try switching it out for a known good one. Cheers for the tip!

I think they are ok but new ones ordered anyway

In all fairness no I didn’t. I did change the coils though. Another thing on the list of things I need to check. Cheers.
Its got to be electrical or fueling Carl, cars another rip off i never knew about👍

Burntwood ws 7 👍🏻
bmw car battery in the boot i think.
Had a look, 2 covers either side but no battery that I can see?
