I'm confused by this 7th battery. Is the cart 36 volt or 48 volt, or something else entirely? I have a western 2 seater with a utility flat bed on the back, and 7 6v batteries. There's no bar or serial number in the location you pointed out under the seat. The VIN tag has long since evaporated under the desert sun. Does the motor actually make use of all seven batteries? Is the controller actually 48 volts?
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 I was digging around under the cart yesterday, and I spotted a tag on the motor that said 36/48 volts. That would seem to imply the motor could take 48 volts if I upgraded the controller.
Believe it or not, there is no fuse box on westerns. There are some individual fuse holders, but not the same on all carts. Here are some places I have found fuses on westerns : Behind radio Mounted in body under drivers legs down at bottom of steering column in battery area, follow each wire
If it has a hood, it has a 12 volt hood release button. Look around drivers side dash area, it is there. Might be under the dash, in the dash etc. If it is there, and has power to the button, you should hear a click when you push the button. Alot of times, you need to push the button with 1 hand, and pull up on the hood with the other hand. One last thing, there are some that are not electric, on those you push down on the front of the hood and it releases, but these are few and far between.
Hi Wayne....I have a 2001 Western Elegante with the 7 battery setup. I am having intermittent no go with the cart. Trying to find your contact info but no luck. How can I reach out.
Thanks for this. Where the heck do I find Diamond seat covers for my 2001 Western?
They have to be custom made
I have 80622 stamped into the driver side steel rail under the seat, any ideas?
No, I have never seen anything stamped on the driver's side

Your cart and charger are 42 volts. All parts on your cart are 36 volt.

That motor will work on either 36 or 48 volts.
Do they make side curtains for this cart to block the wind?
yes they make side curtains.
Wayne where is the fuse box on a 1981 western? Have looked everywhere!

Interesting. Cannot even open the hood. Does that switch involve a fuse?

I have a western golf cart..my question is...Can I remove the body and replace it with an ez go body?
