What a great way to wrap up an amazing album! What do you guys want to see next? 🤔
Hope World next? 😊😊 or maybe Love Yourself: Tear
Wings or love yourself: tear
Since you did the other two rappers mixtapes it would be cool if you did jhope's Hope World mixtape....the upbeat but still deep vibes might be good after suga's mixtape
TXT just released a new album, the title track "0X1=Lovesong" has a great music video and some of the lyrics were written by RM!!
I recommend u check out the song "change" by rm. And wings album, wings shorts - I think u would like it. Other than that "4 o clock" - first dong written by v... React to every song 👁👁🔪 lol cause I can't decide.
Another thing about his friend suggesting he try drugs is that Korean culture has zero tolerance for celebrities who do drugs. If an Idol is caught doing drugs, their career would be instantly over.
I would say for people in general, not just celebrities, drugs are seen in a VERY different light in East Asia
I did a paper in university about the legalization of weed in different countries, and Japan, for example, will punish their citizens who engage with weed even if they use it in a country where it is completely legal, and it's a heavy penalty like, jail, no bails or anything like that, just for weed
That’s a shame. I personally think the celebrity lifestyle and the way the public treats celebrities and the isolation of being one pushes people towards drugs, not to mention creativity, addictive personalities and mental health issues go hand in hand, so it’s sad to punish them for something I almost think is inevitable for a lot of them 😔
Some more details: you should eat tofu after getting released from prison - symbolises change and rehabilitation. And after that line the yoongi quotes the friend say "you wanna try-" which given the context means some sort of drugs. Yoongi also references some lines from spring day which has similar themes of losing/missing friends
I just wanna share yoongi actually included the word 약을 or yak (drugs) in this song, but the lyrics I see don't translate it maybe because he slurred it in the song, you can hear it at 10:00
Agust D is Daegu Town SUGA spelled backward. Daegu is his hometown.
Also, try the various fruit flavored Sojus. Soju is closer to vodka than to sake.
I can handle vodka, I went to university in England after all 😎😎😎😎😎😎
@@ComedianReacts I meant the fruit flavors are delicious, not that you were a light weight 😜
It seems that he basically lost a good old friend to what might be drug addiction, it’s sad because Yoongi has said it isn’t easy for him to make close friendships like that. I’ve been in a similar situation and it literally just feels like watching your friend disappear slowly and they keep choosing to. Obviously addiction is hard and terrible and yes it is an illness, but there is a point where you feel really helpless and bitter always reaching out and supporting them and they take every chance to throw you and your efforts away. You gotta have boundaries or leave them to destroy themselves sometimes or else they’ll destroy you with them.
Like he went to prison and not even a few steps out the door wanted to go back to the same behaviors and even include Yoongi in them...and I know he could not help it but the frustration and anger is hard not to feel. Especially cuz you keep doing everything you can but part of the healing process can only come from them making the efforts as well. My friends can be as mindful and helpful to me as they can but if I don’t do my part of taking my medication, practicing my coping skills, staying away from my triggers when I can, actively choosing to do my best to choose healthy behaviors everyday, etc my own mental illness can hurt my life and those around me and it’s the same with a drug addiction.
@@CutieYoli I have a friend who previously struggled with drug addiction. and it's interesting to see what lines she draws in supporting those who go through it. For her, she will stand by anyone through drug addiction, even if they really badly try and harm her when they're like that, and helps them through rehab.
But the second that they try to rope her or someone else into their behaviour, she cuts them off, no second chances. To her, that's the ultimate evil, is knowing what drugs do to you, and then offering them to someone else. Almost anything else is redeemable (to an extent; she has kids to protect so obviously they come first) but offering drugs to someone is not.
@@Arya-is4cv that’s interesting, and a very understandable and intelligent boundary to set. Harming yourself is one thing, but harming other people is an entirely different story 🤔
@@Arya-is4cv yes I agree! Addiction and illness is difficult and you can do so much damage that you wouldn't in your right mind, but to willingly try to convince others knowing what its done to your life and relationships is a sign you dont actually care in my book.
i could honestly listen to you talk about yourself and your past stories for hours, you seem like a genuinely interesting person and i often find myself highly intrigued when you talk about yourself. hope you're coping better now and doing well! much love
I feel the same way.
You said what I was thinking.
💜 💜 💜
Oh you just spoke what I had in my mind.
I had a friend. With time we drifted apart when we went to different schools. She met some ppl that I would consider had a bad influence on her. She started smoking at a very young age, drinking, failed a year in school. And I tried to stick with her and help her but at some point she just turned against me. Did some horrible things that I don't think I will forgive her for anytime soon. And I miss her so much. But not the person she is now. I miss her from the past before all that shit happened so you could say that I miss a person that no longer exists.
Hope you know that it's okay to miss that person, even tho the she isn't the same anymore.
‘I miss a person that no longer exists’
Great quote, and I think you could apply that to any friend when you drift apart 🤔 🤩
I cry every time I listen to this song. Out of all the BTS members, Agust D makes me feel so many difficult emotions with his music. I can only listen to his The Last in private because I know I'll be sobbing by the end. Thank you for not making light of it and your discussion about survivor's guilt.
Me too! This song really hits you hard, everytime... 💜
have you reacted to the bts song butterfly yet? it talks about a lot of things you talked about in this video...
since you've done suga and rm, maybe you could check jhope's mixtape "hope world" next? 🤍
yesssss
Yes!! It will be a big change of mood and vibe, very different from both Namjoon and Yoongi. His mixtape always gives me such good vibes
Might help him recover from 'Dear my friend's emotional hit...
Suga was already an idol when his friend was sent to jail and he still made time to go to him. This first thing his friend did once released was to invite him to do drugs, which is why Suga got so mad at him. He’s mad at himself too for not helping his friend more who was caught in addiction, but again, there’s nothing he could’ve done really. He had already done enough, but he feels that survival guilt. He’s also angry because if he had gone with his friend and tried drugs it could’ve ended his career. So in a way he feel even more guilty after having so much success since he chose his career (and his health) over his friend. Or at least that’s how he feels. It’s not his fault, but it depicts how it feels to being in a hopeless situation like that.
One sentence that really hits hard when I listen to the song (with lyrics) for the first time is definitely "I know it's not just because of time that we changed". Nothing to blame, not even time. And that's tough to admit, a lot of people can't do it for their entire life.
And I agree, the album is fantastic. You can 'taste' life in it (sorry if my English is not understandable).
Most ARMYs that have been around since BTS' debut have an idea of who this song is about, and if its about who I think it is, yeah it was drugs, as well as really severe domestic abuse a little later on. The person in question actually committed suicide earlier this year after another violent incident that would have sent him back to prison. Idk how much you know about BTS' history but originally there was a completely different line up of musicians with only RM, J-Hope and Suga out of the current line up. They all quit the group after it went in a more 'idol' direction than was originally planned. Some became musicians with varying success, some disappeared, one joined the company as a producer and has joined rapline on a couple songs (Supreme Boi) some the members seemed to have a cordial relationship with, others not so much (you'll find a lot of references to people who 'betrayed' them in Joon and Yoongi's older solo music).
Anyway, some context for the song:
- Daegu is Yoongi's hometown, and the place he initially made a name for himself as an underground rapper and producer. Daegu is a ways away from Seoul and its not common in Korea for a person's family to have any interaction with their friends at all (like in Korea your family usually wouldn't even meet your partner until you're engaged to get married) so for him to have brought this friend there says a lot about how close they were.
- White tofu is given to people on the day they're released from prison as it symbolizes rehabilitation in Korean culture. Prison food in Korea is generally rice and beans, tofu is something new and 'better' made from beans, hence, change, growth, rehabilitation, etc.
* General sidenote, in Korean, the word 'friend' has 2 meanings: the usual one we all know, and a special use for someone you're friends with who is born in the same year as you. This is a big deal in Korean culture, because technically someone the same age as you is the only person you can be completely 'comfortable' with, as the age hierarchy doesn't apply and you don't have to police your language or behavior with them at all (there are exceptions for people who are INCREDIBLY close, like modern day BTS members close, but that's very rare, and generally only in private). In the song when he says 'you were my only friend' he was referring to the 2nd meaning.
* Another general sidenote, drugs are a MASSIVE deal in Korea, like I can't emphasize that enough. You're more likely to go to prison for drugs than assault or rape, even if its just Marijuana, and the whole of Korean society will turn its back on you (South Korea isn't like most countries where celebrity controversies are fun gossip for a while and then everyone moves on and stops caring, Korean people will MAKE SURE your career is over, when they say 'never show your face on TV again' (and they do, often) they mean it, and make sure it happens. This is why public perception is a huge deal with Korean celebs, and matters of reputation that are seemingly not a huge deal to outsiders are taken super seriously in SK, as it can and will end your career pretty easily). That's part of why Yoongi is as anti drug as he is in his music, its partially a point of pride because he grew up in fairly rough circumstances and in poverty, mental health issues and other struggles, etc. yet never turned to them, and also because in recent years its become a trend for Korean rappers to get into using and selling drugs to imitate the American rappers they're trying to imitate in the first place, to the point that the general perception of Korean rappers is being tainted as a lot of people assume they mess with drugs even if they don't.
I found your channel recently and just want to say I really enjoy your reactions, you're entertaining while also being thoughtful and really engaging with the material. Just a heads up, if you want truly good translations of BTS' songs, I recommend going to doolsetbangtan. wordpress. com/, doolset is one of the fandom's best and most trusted translators and her lyric translations can't be beat. Korean is a super complex language and is really difficult to translate well into English, a slight mistake can drastically change the context of a sentence or even change the meaning entirely, but doolset not only translates perfectly but also adds notes that explain context, references, wordplay, etc. that you'd otherwise miss entirely. Its just text so I don't know if you'd want to or be able to use these translations in your videos, but if you're personally interested in getting a more complete understanding of BTS' lyricism I highly recommend these translations :) She's done their entire discography, including solo works and collabs
oh, wow, i thought it was a childhood friend not THOSE friends. if that is the case (it's that member who would've been in BTS), i know exactly who you're talking about. thanks for the thoughtful and informative comment
Wow, i never knew that it was THAT friend referred to here. I knew he was an x trainee but did not know that he was that close to anyone from the rap line. Was the investigation already concluded as suicide though?
Btw I’ve been following the comedian since almost the beginning and he does look at doolset from time to time for better appreciation of the lyrics and cultural nuances (like he did at the end here)
@@raspberrytaegi yeah that’s what i thought as well. Someone back from home from pure-debut times
Thanks for the first paragraph... I'm little older than a year into this fam so I didn't know about that...I did some digging and I guess I found out who THAT is...now my love and respect and understanding of this song has increased exponentially..💜
Thank you so much, you did a wonderful job for providing further information about the song. But i just want to clarify a point. At this time we still don't know if the song was exactly about that people you mentioned (*ron), and we don't even know if "the friend" was Suga's childhood friend from hometown Daegu, or a friend he made along the way. But in the song, they referred a lot about their hometown, so i think the "friend" here was just his friend from Daegu (but still, i'm not sure about that). And for more info, the ex member you mentioned was from Gwangju.
But we still don't know and may never know about the actual story that happened and the actual "friend" in the song, so i hope you can clarify that part so that people won't misunderstand.
Daegu is the hometown of both Yoongi and Taehyung...they are often together called as Daegu Boys...
With Jimin and Jumgkook as the Busan boys
I am so sorry for your loss comedian. I have a particular friend that struggles very hard with his mental health and I've reached a point where i love him so much but every interaction I hv w him feels like Im toeing the line of being that last straw and i am so tired. Just so tired. Oop sorry haha trauma dumped here. Thank you for the reaction, I thot you'd like the song People more but ofc ur a softie like me too
I think especially if they turn their issue on you and start making it your responsibility with words like ‘if you don’t reply I might kill myself’ or something then that’s just textbook emotional abuse and manipulation, even if they aren’t bluffing about their suicidal ideations, and at that point you really can’t help them and you have to save yourself. It’s one thing helping someone but another when they try and put the entire responsibility for their life in your lap 😔
Dear My Friend is also my favorite. Kim Jongwan from the band NELL has a beautiful collab with RM as well, on his mono playlist. It's called everythingoes and you liked it too.
i still cant listen to this song without tearing up, i think that applies to everyone who's dealt with loss. i remember lots of ARMY were telling him this song made them cry and on a vlive he said he didn't understand why we were feeling sad. it's like he doesn't get how powerful his songs are.
Such a sad song... it's even sadder because Yoongi seems like a person with few good friends. Thank you for your reaction! Hope World next?
yeah, he even said it in bring the soul (i think? or another one of the movies) that on days off the others go out and see friends but he doesn't really have friends to see so he stays inside, works out...
i love how you alwas try to take in the song and lyrics in as much detail as possible, and how you always draw parallels or similarities to your own life or society so that you always end up relating to the song so deeply. it makes is so interesting to listen to you and watch you react and i just want to thank your for that. it just shows that you really take your time and how genuine you are. it also almost always gives me a new kind of appreciation for bts & sugas music bc of the way you react to and feel about it.
^
this song always makes me cry
Survival’s guilt... I know something about this since my sister committed suicide 11 years ago... she had 18 years... The question’s are flooding my head... what if, how she would be right now... her baby( she was 5 months pregnant with a baby boy... ) There are some things in life that you can’t ever get back to... that’s the saddest part ...thank you , Comedian!
i'm so sorry for your losss
i remember the day d2 was released, it was so cold especially for me because i live in a country with tropical weather and i was drinking this tea with honey (THAT TASTED LIKE THE SONG HANSOOL SOUNDS) and just BAWLING listening to this song. i was crying so loudly my grandmother came to me asking what happened and i had to explain my favorite rapper from south korea wrote a beautiful song again
on a lighter note idk if you remember but on one of the "bts on quarantine" videos you reacted to, jin and namjoon are eating noodles together and saying random stuff on this song's rhythm! i think you even asked what are they referencing on that part so here it is! :) really appreciate your videos
i love your ramblings and thoughts on mental health
this song hits me every single time
Yeah its a really difficult topic. I had a few friends that I am not friends anymore coz of drugs, it is impossible to help sb who doesnt want your help, and that is a crushing reality. So if you step away you feel like you are abandoning them, but if you stay involved , especially regarding people who take or sell drugs, you are gonna change too whether you like it or not...So in the end it is a right path to let go at some point, but it does not make it less hurtful.
At the end part, I feel like Yoongi was crying... and then the piano (Yoongi's first love) followed and it just make me bawl always
Bts obviously knows about Eminem cause in interview rm or Suga someone said that their first album that they bought was Eminem's
brilliant album and great reaction! I actually relate to what you said about not being able of helping a friend with mental health issues when you are struggling yourself. I'm in a situation like that right now and it's tough and brings resentment and guilt and helplessness so yeah. Yoongi is a genious.
I listen to this whole mixtape start to finish at least once a day, it is soooo good. All of it. Thank you so much for reacting to D2. Tough subjects but Agust D’s voice is comforting when we need it. 🙂
“Well contained song” - he’s pretty good at that.
I am sorry for your loss, ♥️
can you do "so far away" by suga feat.suran?! it's such a great song from his first mixtape "Agust D"🥺🙏💜
Yesss!
Yess
So far away is a masterpiece
I always cry listening to this song with the lyrics but your commentary made me bawl even harder. It's not a bad thing, I think I needed the cry because I feel much more relieved
It amazes me how a song can tell a story and convey deep emotion beautifully to the listeners.
comediannnn you got me tearing up with you sending virtual hugs :((
Your reaction is as genuine as Agust D himself. Thanks 🙏
Such a beautiful song, reminds me of spring
Suga used to even say that younger him (young suga or even Gloss, if you will) was inspired by rappers that he listened to and loved, including Eminem...i think it's a fair comparison. They're world's apart, but if anyone in bts was like ol Marshall Mathers, it'd be suga
And yeah, I like Headlights!
I love this song so much. Another great song about friendship is Being Boring by Pet Shop Boys which is about Neil's best friend who died of AIDS. "I never dreamt that I would get to be the creature that I always meant to be, but I thought, in spite of dreams, that you'd be sitting somewhere here with me" gets me every time. I've been listening to that song for 31 years and the meaning of it and the emotions I felt changed so much from when I was a teenager to young adult to middle-aged. I love song that can age with you.
You can check out hope world by jhope next... a little more colorful than this. 🥲
I'm going to check out headlights
I waited for this one so long
This *mixtape* has been a fantastic journey with you.
Im sorry for the loss of your friend
The moment you mentioned Eminem, I was like:
Honey... Yoongi is a big ass Stan, he fucking loves Eminem.
He reminds me a lot of Em's style but still different somehow.
This song always makes me teary, it's such a personal song and always makes me think of my friends and what I would do if something ever happened to them. I'm glad you are comfortable sharing your story too. I'm sorry for your loss.
This mixtape was great and I loved every song, but it was dark, although I also love heavy and dark stuff too. If you want a change of mood, Jhope's mixtape will provide just that. It is a much brighter mixtape compared to Namjoon and Yoongi's mixtapes. It brings comfort, just like Mono and D-2 do to many people, but it's a different type of comfort. All three mixtapes have different vibes, but "Hope World "by Jhope is the most different of the three. I hope you like it if you react to it!
so sorry for the loss of your friend, i can't imagine how much it hurts. i somewhat relate to this song, but not quite like that. i lost a best friend because of drifting, there's no bad blood or one failing to save the other or anything like that between us. but i still really miss her. i hope we can reconnect soon, but i'm too afraid to reach out after so many years
"suga, you bastard"
yes, now you know what it's like to listen to an agust d album xD
i agree with the others that you should react to hope world next !!!!! you've taken a deep dive into namgi's work, it's only fair to give hobi the spotlight too. and hope world will definitely cheer you up, it is arguably the most comforting, awesome place ("place"-definitely not a physical place) in BTS's entire discography :] but you don't have to right away, you're already doing rise of bangtan and patreon pfursdays and all these other things. if you wanna dip your toe in, i definitely recommend starting with the two songs that have fantastic mvs - "daydream" and "airplane" (in that order)
on the other hand, if you're ready for more sad (and every other feeling under the sun lol), i would recommend you react to Agust D (1, the first mixtape) next. there's a huge shift in attitude between these two albums - suga says that his past self was really angry (same as rm) and agust d is about the past, not the present like d-2
For next album maybe you can listen to his first mixtape, if you haven't done it yet. It seems like you relate a lot to stories which he tells through his music
I really enjoyed this whole reaction series. I can't put my finger on it, but it's like... even as you make it clear that you are doing this because you Are A TH-camr, you maintain this level of authenticity that's just really comforting to watch. You're a very kind and honest person, I think, and it's nice to hear you discuss the music in relation to yourself and your experiences.
It's was a really great series too, Comedian...your album reaction. Thank you for shairng
bts rap line actually went to an eminem concert in korea together before debut and rm rapped an eminem song not long ago in a run episode
thank you for your words at the end, i blamed myself for my friends attempted suicide,, i never saw her again after. I could sense that she had smth going on and i felt selfish because I was too self pitied to do anything for her. It was in my first year of high school and I still think ab her to this day. I rarely share this with anyone but I felt like I had to get it out to whoever would listen. thank you
I love your shirt, Comedian.
Btw, soju is good with pork bbq.
If thatzs what makes you emotional you should listen to "will it last forever" and "fallen leaves" by AKMU... they are nations siblings and the brother Chanhyuk is just a genius when it comes to songwriting... together they can literally make a song out of everything
Thank you 💯... I really2 need reaction on dis song. My fav track ... It stuck on my head n emotion.
I love listening to what you have to say
If you have soju don’t have the original version, I find it tastes like heavy water 😆
BUT 🍑 the flavored ones are amazing 🤩
- My favourite one is the lychee and grape ones from the brand ‘Good Day’
Suga had a friend who went to jail over drugs...Suga was there for him during trial and when he got out...Then this "friend " tried to get Suga to do drugs...That ended their friendship. Made especially hurtful because Suga has stated he didn't have many friends as a young boy
Love your reaction ♡♡♡♡♡
Suga and V are from Daegu Town....and the DT in AugusTD stands for Daegu Town
oh !! you may recall from introduction videos, daegu is yoongi's hometown. AGUST D = D(aegu) T(own) SUGA backwards.
i HIGHLY recommend that you watch paldogangsan aka satoori rap (lyrics + explainer video) so that you can get a good grasp on how BTS feel about the different (VERY different) places they used to live (and learn some interesting south korean politics along the way). it's also a banger, and pretty funny (no more crying sjkhsjgjkdgdjgd)
whether you do or don't (watch that), here's a quick and hopefully mostly accurate summary
daegu - hometown of yoongi (and taehyung, although he didn't grow up there). in the south (of south korea). they speak "gyeongsang satoori" (satoori = dialect) which has a reputation of being a "manly man" accent (to me it sounds deep and dragged). somewhat troubled relationship with gwangju
gwangu - hometown of j-hope. also in the south. funnily enough, their dialect apparently sounds friendly and energetic (fitting for hobi lmao). somewhat troubled relationship with daegu
busan - hometown of both jimin and jungkook (and there's a LOT of jokes about that lmao). wayyy south/a port city. they also speak gyeonsang satoori
gwacheon - hometown of jin. very close to seoul (in the north). they speak Seoul Dialect, which is the "Standard, Correct" dialect that some k-pop artists are forced to speak (rather than speaking in their natural accent)
ilsan - hometown of namjoon (technically he was born IN seoul, but that's not where he grew up). north of seoul. they also speak seoul dialect (although joon sometimes speaks "namtoori", an adorable amalgamation of everyone else's accents)
hope world next?
Some separations seem just inevitable...but if you could go back could you make it different 🤧
if you're thinking about trying soju, i recommend the plain soju with beer. it's surprisingly good 😀
If you haven't before, listen to NF..If you have, you know.. Stay safe, be less fucked up tmrw
Now that you know them and their faces, maybe it d be possible t start reacting to the BTS Universe. There is for sure some ARMY who will be able to give you the full list, the only advice is to react to the Japanese parts of this universe on Patreon as songs like Blood Sweat and Tear JPN version get blocked often.
Oh, I guess I am that Army - found it pretty easily - bts.fandom.com/wiki/BTS_Universe
Agree! The Japanese MV of Blood Sweat & Tears is really cool (similar trippy vibe as Idol).
You definitely need to listen to it more to appreciate this album while reading to doolset translations ofc
First time commenting. I love your BTS reactions and you are funny and quite open. Thank you for sharing.
Have you watched Yoongi’s Vlive talking about this album?
So take this with a grain of salt cause i dont have the source BUT yoongi has talked about this friend a couple times before (i think the relationship and loss of really effected him) and i remember hearing somewhere the issue was that this friend who he stayed beside when he had gone to jail and waited for was actually dealing drugs and he had asked yoongi to deal drugs with him or for him. the "would you try" being like would you get into this business with me. and in the first part of the song he mentions how they used to dream about making it in music, and dealing or taking drugs would immediately ruin any hopes of a career were he caught. so i think it might have been that feeling of utter betrayal. knowing how hard he was working for his career but still standing by his friend only to have him ask something that would risk it all. so he cut off the friendship, hence the I hate you but the I miss you. He still cares about his friend and feels guilty for abandoning him but also still feels that sense of betrayal and resentment.
aaaaaaanyways thats all my own interpretation and speculation over a thing i heard about the drug dealing thing so i might be way off base but i think the emotions and lyrics make sense with this context.
On the other hand i know you wanted more from the story, and we can speculate like i've done above but i think he kept it intentionally vague perhaps to leave the story more universally relatable, or because the full story is too painful, who knows but i think he makes the yearning and resentment and sense of loss really shine through and that's quite relatable to most ppl.
Keep up the great- funny but intelligent and introspective- reactions!
Thanks for your amazing comment! 🤩 🙏
Soju is delicious, especially the grapefruit flavour, try it!😊
Beginners should drink very chilled flavored soju. I recommend grapefruit. Yummmm
Straight soju is a little like mixing vodka with a whiff of rubbing alcohol. It ranges in strength - about 24% average. It is a shooting liquor. On the harsh side and meant to clear the palate from greasy barbequed pork belly, etc. (To paraphrase Monty Python, which both dates me and is possibly offensive because I always think of relevant quotes when talking to you: It is not a liquor for drinking; it is a liquor for laying down and avoiding.) I love it. Years ago I was out with 5 guy friends at a Korean fusion university gastro pub. They are the 80 yr old Scotch that tastes like bacon and smoked leather sort. One of them decided to try soju and ordered a carafe (which is bizarre, because soju should come in its original bottles and be served and opened as you drink so it stays cold). Anyway, as the resident know-it-all with a dozen years experience watching Korean drama and who has actually been to Korea and was drunk for much of the trip (really improves ones foreign language abilities), I explained you must shoot it past your taste buds, and the first shot is always terrible, but it gets better as you go. The snooty bastards immediately sipped and made faces. This is why I yell at people. I ended up drinking it all and it made going outside that day worth it.

❤
💕
I totally forgive you for calling our boy the "B-word"....
I felt you....for your frustration!
you Nice Keep Going
After i am watching you, I want to be a comedian. I need my world which I want to analyze this world into being my side. I like your reaction!!
Noo not the juice again!!
😂
Jk l’ll be back to actually watch this later
Can you react to So Far Away by Agust D too?
this is one of those videos where the translator did their best but there's too much contained within it, you just have to read doolsetbangtan or something haha
this is the story of yoongi's friend who went to prison, you got that part. and maybe you got this later (i'm not done watching yet), but you were right about it building up to something too: the lyric "you want to try-?" means that after yoongi ran to his car and drove three hours to visit his friend at the detention center, his friend offered him drugs
oh cool, you did take a quick peek at doolset
so now you can see how yoongi has this unexpected close relationship with addiction, both through his whole "i get drunk every night to escape reality" thing (honsool) and his experience of losing his friend. the way the feelings in both (but especially the former) were expressed (putting a lot of blame on himself, acknowledging that everyone changes and everyone struggles) has a lot of us convinced that the blazing anger expressed in the line, "that's your excuse for popping pills, cry me a river you just got no skills" (daechwita) is directed towards people (maybe korean rappers?) who _romanticize_ drug addiction as a fun little aesthetic, not people who legitimately struggle with it (others have interpreted it the second way and tried to cancel him for it on twitter)
i appreciate how yoongi is so so so honest in these mixtapes. maybe it would've been better for his reputation to portray himself as an individual with endless empathy and love and forgiveness, no hate towards anyone, but instead he expressed his actual feelings, the overwhelming frustration and guilt he feels about the total destruction of the relationship between him and one of his closest friends
That is his personal song for Yoongi and a friend who got in prison due to drugs. He keeps on begging his friend to stop but did not listened. 🐱🍊🏀🎹🎤🎸🍾🥢💜
At the end part, I feel like Yoongi was crying... and then the piano (Yoongi's first love) followed and it just make me bawl always
