Waterbending, one of the four elemental bending arts, is the hydrokinetic ability to control water in all of its various forms. This type of bending is used by the people of the Water Tribe, who are divided into the Southern, Northern, and lesser-known Foggy Swamp tribes, as well as those of the United Republic, each with their own unique bending style.

With Airbending you can suck the air out of someone’s lungs and suffocate them, make someone explode with water/bloodbending, impale someone with earthbending, and roast someone alive with fire/lightning bending

Earth can swallow and crush you right at this moment.
Fire can pretty much limit your life to 30 seconds. Tops.

@@willc5177 Well, yes actually. Although it would require a new skill such as Temperature Regulation and in could be a potential combat style in a much violent Avatar world.
If anyone’s wondering why Hama reacted that way at 6:10 it’s because she used an earthbending method water benders usually redirect, dodge or shield themselves, she didn’t expect Katara to stand her ground (much like an earthbender would) and blast the water away, Katara is sooo badass!! Toph would be proud!!

Yeah, this is what makes TH-camrs great, by treating the history of anything justlike rl history. For ex. the TH-camr FitMC talks about a minecraft server, but it sounds more like a war veteran telling his story.

You literally forgot Octopus Stance the most underused bending of them all since it's OP. It can be used as an offense as well as defense (shown on the episode where aang got struck by azula at ba sing se)
I wish the animators showed how she used it against dai lee. Also they should've showed katara's tidal wave during that fight

This is why Water is my favorite. All the elements have various pros & cons and are useful in their own way. But water is easily the most versatile. Only people with creativity & imagination understand how OP it is to have control of it in all 3 states (water, ice, mist). Offensively & Defensively it’s not weak in any category. It’s also clearly the best element to have control of if you were going to survive in nature. And when you add things like Healing & Bloodbending to the mix… its pretty much perfect in my opinion.

Water cloak is cool but it has an advanced level. The Hydra, or Kraken. 8 simultaneous arms of water, the peak of offense and defense, and an incredibly high level strategy. Used by Katara in the crystal catacombs
ming hua is so versatile with her waterbending abilities, she turned her disability (no hands) into a very dangerous asset . She’s the only member on the red lotus to not have any sort of different kind of bending compared to lava bending and combustion bending performed by the other members of the lotus.

Water bending is cool, I admit, but i still would much rather have air bending
It’s close tie for me, on one hand water is so versatile, it’s offensive, defensive, it can heal, bloodbending, etc, while air is more defensive but overall looks the most fun. Being able to glide, controlling body temp, running really fast, spiritual projection, air scooters, it really is the element of freedom

Waterbending has a weakness. You need water or moisture available. There were lots of environments in ATLA and LOK that didn't have any. Give me fire or air. Those elements can be done anywhere at anytime.

Probably the coolest is mist step. Where a water bender creates a cloud of mist then creates shards of ice under their feet making it so they can walk on mist

If bending was real, I would be a waterbender( I even took a test). One of my favourite moves is when Kya makes a ring of water around herself, and then shoots ice from it. That’s why I love waterbending; You can be both offensive and defensive.

Im sorry to say this but you forgot 2 VERY IMPORTANT water bending abilities. The first ability. The octopus form and the second. The time and bended snow around his body to make himself a snowman. The snowman trick was when he was training in the northern water tribe.

In legend of korra they should've used water benders as nurses, some might even be blood benders and thats what makes it better.
As a nurse/ doctor you can help people in need faster, from fixing blood clogs to donating blood faster
So if there are people in an emergency state this blood bending could be use for good! Not evil!
I always imagined a waterbender creating their own surfboard out of ice and riding it, even, levitating it and using it as a flyboard or something lol. My imagination. :D

7:48 Well actually water knives are an actual thing in real life and they function by just making water be extremely fast (Water gets sharper the faster it moves) it can get as sharp as a knife.

9:36 her water shield here failed because previously it was full moon, so all waterbenders were powered up and and fire benders basically lost their bending abilities, but here it is day again so the fire benders regained their ability to bend and water benders were less powerfull again. Katara lost because Zuko is way more trained and experienced at bending than her.

All that worry was already too much, but when Zuko came he added to that stress and caused her to make mistakes. However she they later find Aang and they fight again, she quickly defeats him. Of course the sun and moon were a very important factor but the main factor is how confident Katara is.

What if a water bender freezes the water while blood bending
happy then possibly your veins could be blocked, creating blood clots, which also could cause a lot of health problems
@@jeiiyrosepee4769 which also could cause a lot of health problems, ya you'd just die. if a blood bender froze your blood you would instantly die. Not only would the lack of circulation cause you to lose consciousness in less than 4 seconds, water expands as it freezes which would destroy every single blood vessel in your body. Quite honestly, the fact water benders can change the state of water is op as hell, and blood bending only exacerbates it. a Water bender can be absolutely lethal no mater where they are. Even in a desert against robotic enemies, a water bender could, in a dire situation, use their own blood as weapons.
