  • Old Sturbridge Village is the largest history museum in the Northeast. The New England country farm village goes back in time during the late 1700s to 1840s. It was interesting to speak with and learn from the men at the pottery shop and Kiln, Blacksmith Shop, Sawmill, and Printing Office. The educators, at the village wears their costumes and brings you back to earlier times. I experienced what it was like first-hand as they explained their trade to me. In this peaceful setting I had the chance to see the District School, Freeman Farm, Town Pound, and the Bixby House. Among other homes and workshops. I talked with the men and woman who attend the garden and learned what kind of crops they plant. I also realize that it's not always easy to keep warm on those cold winter days of the Northeast.
