Apropos of springs on Pakachoag hill, there was a active spring on Ekman Street in the '60s that was covered up (I guess) by an apartment building that was built on top of it in the early '70s. Roughly twenty years or so later a new spring emerged up a few lots towards the top of Ekman behind Carlstad and wreaked havoc in the backyard and basement of my family's home for many years. Currently there's a french drain moving some of the water out to the street.
I never learned any of this history in Worcester Public Schools, which is a shame. It's fascinating. I hope they restore that spring, and include this video in local history classes.
