Updated my settings and it def helped a lot w/ little to no visual performance loss (others might disagree but I'm content). I'm running on a 14700K + 4090 DLAA 4K w/ your applied settings and it seems to hold 90fps w/ very little fps dips. Additionally gpu temps went down nearly 6-8C and pwr down by about 75w. Great job and thank you.
Huge thanks for this. It pisses me off when developers put several options for a graphical setting but they barely make any difference in both performance and visuals. In this case it's like half of them which is kinda weird. It's almost like they didn't want to give us settings that make the game look significantly worse because outside of pretty graphics it doesn't really offer much value. I play at 1440p with an RX 6900 XT and I kept getting mid 40s at certain sections despite tinkering with some settings but it looks like I was changing the wrong ones LOL.
Awesome! Really really appreciate these vids! Even with a 4080 super and 7800x3d I use optimized settings to maintain high fps at 1440p uw and 4k. I can't see a difference in motion fidelity wise between ultra and optimized most of the time, if anything the optimized looks better due to much higher fps.
Cheers for the settings mate.... my Asus ROG Strix laptop with a 4060 is now getting between 90 - 100 fps @ 2k with DLSS quality and FG. I dont understand how i am getting anything close to this, but i am.
I've used your optimized settings at 1440p using a limited hardware (i7-14650HX RTX-4060 and 16GB RAM) I can actually run the game smoothly hovering around 70-85fps. I've updated the game to the latest version and they do seem to scale better now.
VRS has an impact but it depends on the scene. I was testing near the start when you first shimmy along a cliff edge looking down at the water and went from 66 to 82 fps with it enabled at 4K DLSS Quality on a 4080. There is a slight quality loss but it may be worth enabling rather than lowering other settings. I'm really liking the preview mode in the menu. It allowing you to toggle the options off and on to check the performance and image quality on the fly. Also one thing to note, when in the menus (including preview mode) the DLSS frame generation is disabled, so any frame rates you see in the menus/preview mode will be higher when you exit the menu (however the in-game fps counter in Interface -> Advanced Settings doesn't count generated frames like RTSS does).
Thank you for the video! Great as always ! In my case with a RX 6750 XT GPU (with slight OC) im sticking with TSR Native or 85/90%, which to me looks cleaner, also i preferred the superior effects over standard where i noticed less shimmer on some detail while not moving. Texture high Other settings on medium, im getting around 50 fps @1440p in the first game area.
Impressive work! Have you slept already? You can still disable the Chromatic Aberration, Film Grain and Motion Blur inside the config file. I hope you will cover that too. 🤷♀
Yes I have slept once while working on this video, as for the config edits, I don't think I will be covering it as it's not worth a full video, I should have included it in this one but I missed it as I already uploaded this video and was too quick to find out about it. I guess this is the drawback of being too good at what you do! 😉
Lossless scaling frame gen seems to work pretty well if you can’t run it with DLSS or whatever for any reason. I’m currently running FSR native AA, and getting between 80-100 FPS with max settings and lossless scaling 2x frame gen. Chose to keep max settings, I don’t necessarily agree with the assessment of the shadows and other advanced settings.
Glad I watched this, I wasn’t sure about DLSS DLAA, also thought it was too soft. And was running 50 sharpness, but wanted a 2nd opinion. Good stuff 👍 crazy this game needs a 4090, but looks incredible. Just wish DSR worked. DSR does work, you have to set your desktop to that resolution for it to work. Kinda annoying, but lots of games do that, especially PS games.
i was getting 8fps on that cutscene low settings lol (rx570) although, if u restart the game after shader compilation the performance improves by a lot (21 to 30fps in gameplay here 1080p fsr balanced) so if someone sees gtx 1650 running low settings 720p fsr ultra performance ~25fps thats cuz they didnt restarted the game before testing, Zykopath saving us again with optimized settings 🤩
Quite surprised by the upscaler choice. Imo, DLAA brings too much shimmering around trees (and foliage in general) which is very distracting. Despite having a 4080, I chose TSR at 100% as it brings an overall stable image unlike all other options. Anyway, I would say the upscalers (or AA) do not work very well in this game.
TSR in general is inferior to FSR 3 and DLSS in this game. especially since it doesn't offer sharpening, you can always compare them yourself and use what you prefer.
@@ZykopathOfficial Huh, that’s a first for UE5 from what I remember. Usually TSR beats FSR and XESS, even coming close to DLSS sometimes! Just hope they put in a sharpening slider or atleast a mod comes and does so.
