The bikes were made as cruisers and for trick riding back then. Now a days you get one for tricks only which are really not set up to ride around al day long. That's how we did it back then, you have to remember that back in the 80's, we didn't have pc's and video games that kept us home day in and day out. When we rode, we rode constantly, hung around buddies constantly and basically lived on these. Do the trick bikes have really low seats these days?
i had this bike in 95 all chrome two piece gt crank plate, gt slide n bolt pegs and 4 piece handle bars . best bike i ever had. if it was never stolen i would be riding it today
I had an '87 Performer, it was powder blue. Looking back, now, at the colors and the design's on the stickers, these bikes really do epitomize the '80's. I looked at the GT website and it looks like they are still making them, and not selling them at Wal-Mart unlike Schwinn and Mongoose.
dude thats an awsome bike. this kids from now they dont know what there talking about. i had a hutch trick star and sold it and now i regret it. what ever you do dont get rid of it.
The mags were sharp! But the brakes really didn't want to stick to the mags. Remember the material of the mags always collected oils and greases, and if you wanted to trick ride, you had to use a really good soap to get the build up off of them so the brakes would stick and hold like glue.
Still one of best pro performers on youtube is the pink looks a little faded. Maybe the camera doesnt do it justice. My was dayglo ping with neon blue decals
She's a nastygirl!!!! Dayum! Mine was white and decked out with all the goodies! $500.00 was nothing when buying all the name brand accessories! lol Very hot bike!
Did u ever fully restore it? and if not is it for sale if u still have it? I saw vids video back in 2009 when u posted i remember,i left bmx in 2013 but back in it now.
Wow...that bring me back memory lane....summer of 88,it waz My only trurt love...''well,waz before i discovering girls''I use to the same sweet and model....i stole it from some kid who didnt even knot how to ride it!!!
Wow obviously not from a serious rider. Bars are way to forward and the brake levers are cocked too far up. No rider in their right mind would raise the stem like that either. Pretty much guaranteed it would bend. Still it s a nice bike and worth restoring. Might be good to get rid of that lousy side caliper in the rear and actually put the 990 that is supposed to go on it, back on.
beautiful bike. congratulations. love the old school vision etc. stickers too. love it
Oh yeah! Love me some GT’s. Dayglo pink is my favorite.

I have a 87 dayglo yellow pro freestyle tour now. I need those tech 7 levers, front nippon brake and Epoch headset.
sweet brakes and whte gyro, like mine. 300 bucks, ill buy it. Tell me if you can send it.
Shit I only like The pegs and the seat clamp
One person was riding a Dyno, lol
Why is the seat so high up
That's the true old school look on these GTs and most 80s freestyle bikes. The seat post had to be high to be able to do better tricks.😎👍👌
Would you sell it be willing to buy??
you dont take off the mags. they arent easy to come across
the tires kinda look like chewed bubble gum
would you want to sell it?
Better than sex
