I think the theme was blah. Way more fun if they embodied the flapper age or ?? something upbeat. The New York City gilded age is fraught with racism and those who have versus those who don't. Didn't someone have a NYC skyline skirt or cape. That's cool. Found it - Alicia Keyes had the NYC skyline cape.

Didn't anybody bother to see what the theme was? I mean, it was on everyone's tv screen just recently...all those gorgeous outfits from New York's gilded age.
It’s amazing that they actually had real stylists and the women especially looked so horrible. How can you go to a “themed” event and miss the mark so badly? They don’t realize that looking like you were just chewed up and spit out by an insect isn’t fashion. It’s just gross.
I was always advised not to wear clothes that looked like coffin lining, that looked filled with helium, or had a pattern like hotel carpeting. Well, that advice is for naught, most of the clothing items failed any comparison to lovely, beautiful, enchanting, exciting, often seemed gathered from fabric store remnants, old sheeting, and rummaging through bins. The point? I seemed to have lost it.
