Hi, I was wondering when you applied for UBC did you put anything down for your second program choice? Or did you only put arts as your first choice? I'm trying to apply for 2nd year and I'm not sure if I should be adding a second program choice because most of the offered programs are science, music, sauder, or fine arts. I would say year 2 is the most common! There's not a huge difference but if you transfer into year 3 at UBC, most people are in their last years of their degree and are in upper level classes. If you transfer at year 2 you have more time to meet people and take classes/electives outside your degree.
Hi, I know that this is a really late comment, but do those 30 credits have to be transferrable to UBC in order for it to count as proper credits? Or will they still count it as long as I have completed my 30 credits at Langara?
@@sofiewongThank you so much for responding!! I’m doing a Diploma in Biology this upcoming fall and the website is saying that I don’t meet the prerequisites for some of the classes that I’ve tried getting into, so I have to take the intro courses for them; the ones that I am currently registered in don’t count as transfer credits. How do I make sure that I reach 30 credits by the end of the school year if I have to take some of the intro courses before taking the ones that do count for transfer credits? I currently only have 7 credits that are transferrable for this upcoming semester, and I’m worried that I won’t meet the amount of credits I need by the end of the year.
I transferred into Arts general and then declared my major as Sociology in third year with a minor in education :). I'm not 100% sure for conditional but I believe you will get the final acceptance in late July or Aug if your grades don't drop more than 2%.
I took ENGL 1100 at Langara to get into UBC. You just need two requiurnemnts (one writing and one research) but you also need 6 literature credits to fulfill the arts requirement at UBC.

Hi there I'm in my senior year and I was planning on doing the same for post secondary. I was just wondering if you pursued this and how the experience is transferring from Langara to ubc for computer science?
Hi! I want to major in Computer Science, and CPSC 121 is a requirement for the degree, but my school doesn’t have any exact equivalent to it. However, on the bc transfer guide website when I entered the course from my school it says “Exempt CPSC 121,” does this mean that I don’t have to take CPSC 121 at UBC and it will meet the degree requirement due to the fact that I’d be exempt from it?
Hi! Im not 100% sure on that, my best gues is that you don't have to take it but I would double check on your degree navigator when you are in UBC or contact your faculty advisor :) On the BC transfer guide website it states for excemption : "waiving of a prerequisite or required course for students who have proven they have comparable learning. The student may be required to replace the exempted course with an alternate."

Hey, your video is really informative. Can you tell me or make a video about the transfer in master program? I am a master's student at UCW and want to transfer to UBC.
I have a gpa of 4.0 / 4.0 in the United States (31 credits) , applying for bachelor of science at UBCO, no personal profile required. What are my chances?
I have a question! Do you recommend us to take the courses that can get a higher grade in langara even if those courses are not the area of ideal faculty?
I would say it depends if you plan to do grad school. On one hand if you are trying to get into UBC and solely do you undergrad. Then I would suggest doing the easier GPA boosters at Langara to ensure admissions since that is your end goal. However, if you plan to apply to grad school/ masters or any program past your undergrad that is competitive, then having those gpa boosters in UBC might be beneficial. It may be different for each program but some grad school programs only look at your last 60 credits. So if you left all your harder classes to the end your grades may suffer. Another thing to note is some grad programs also only consider your grades in programs within your faculty (ie. not electives) So it just depends on your end goal!
Hii! Thankyou for explaining the whole process with so much of clarity. I had few queries. 1. For how long after completing by Associates Degree, my credits are valid for transfer. Since I'm planning to work, and get a PR amd after that transfer my credits to UBC. 2. If I start from Jan intake for a 2 year program at Langara. Can I transfer all of my credits (transferable Credits). Or there might be an issue since I'm starting from Jan intake.
Hi! Thanks so much for watching. You can transfer all your credits from the January intake as long as they translate into a full year into UBC. So if you are doing two years starting in the January intake at Langara you would need to complete the two years and apply for the following September intake. For example, if you started in January 2021 and finished your 2-year program in January 2022, you would be fine to apply for September 2022 into your third year at UBC. In my case, I did 1 full year plus one more semester so that is why when I transferred into second year I lost a semester of credits.
