Yeah the place I go to where I change my oil and air filter, says it would be $25 or so for the cabin filter itself... no thanks I can go to Walmart or an auto store where it's cheaper lol and won't have to pay for labor!

Dealer wanted $59 today to replace the filter. Bought one at O’Reilley for $20 and did it myself. Thanks for the video.

This was so freaking easy, thank you! Took the opportunity to unsnap the whole glovebox and give it a good cleaning 😂

Dealer wanted $55 for filter and labor, lol. Bought filter on amazon for $13 and took not even 5 minutes to install. Took most of the time cleaning out the glovebox.

Oil changes, air filter changes, tire rotations and fluid re-fills are always something a car owner should do never a dealer.

Just got a new forester and didn’t want to do the oil change myself cause it’s a new car. They wanted 80$ bucks to replace the air cabin filter. So glad I told them no.

Came here bcuz the manual just says to remove the damper but doesnt explain how. Scared me at first when you didn't show how to exactly to remove the damper but explained it in the reinstall! Thanks!

Only comment you squeeze all top and bottom tabs towards each other. Not push. Stumped me for a few minutes. Thanks for the info

Just wondering if you came across issues with rattling coming from the glovebox area? I could hear rattles coming from the area in my SJ over bumpy roads. But when i left the glovebox open, the rattling disappeared. Would love to hear your views if you have any. Thanks in advance.

Is this the same way that you would replace a cabin filter on a 2019 Subaru Forester?

For some reason, doing this is way more difficult than it looks, and I have little problem doing my own brake jobs.

This was almost as easy to do as it looked in the video, except the damper came loose, so I had to figure out which way it went back in.

Only difficulty I had was getting both sides of the glove box compressed in at the same time. I would get one then while getting the other the first side would snap back into place. Then when putting the damper back on once the filter was replaced the other end came undone. So out with the glove box again. Damper was easily reattached on other end and the entire job with the extra trouble was 10 to 12 minutes. (Not including going through the previously lost treasures I had found in said glove box.

They make it so hard when you should be able to access it by just opening the glovebox. Toyota 4runner is so easy

After seeing this video & following the instructions, it's a damn insult that the service center wants $60 to do this s***; charging an hour for 5 minutes of work.

It probably wouldn't hurt to use a vacume inside before putting the new one in.

I'd agree with you if it was a job that required multiple tools and unscrewing or unhooking of wires and unknown parts, but this ain't that job. Just do like he does in the video and save yourself an easy $50+
