Demons souls was something special. The Tower Knight boss was exhilarating, especially when you beat it. When you get to the end of the game and the boss is just a pathetic blob easily beaten, it really felt bold and edgy.
The Forest is like living in the world of something like the ‘the Thing’. When i was being chased by mutants at night and made it to the safety of a boat out in a bay, i dont think there has been a better sci-fi horror atmosphere.
@@lukebrunker264technically no. It’s based off of the Mad Max IP, but its plot etc aren’t connected to a film. Its not a difficult concept bro cmon think
I would include Subnautica. The game had very little buzz when it released. But discovering for yourself how deep this game gets (pun intended) makes it one of the most thrilling and satisfying game experiences you will ever have.
Sleeping dogs deserves more attention. I think Chinese and Asian gangsters in general need more attention in video games. Games set in China playing as triad would be awesome or you could do it on the Chinese/ Asian mobs/triads in New York. There were a lot of them.
Yeah ER should not be on this list. It was very hyped and not at all just another souls game from the marking or perception standpoint. I never played a from soft game, but the hype train and trailers had me sold day one. There was no skepticism of how that game was going to hit. It was going to be massive, even from a neutral viewpoint like mine.
@@DanteMayCry-qv5kf Agreed it is a great enjoyable experience, hell it was one of the first few titles I bought for current gen, still trying to platinum the damn thing
Hi Fi Rush was such a great surprise. That feeling when 1,000,000 by NIN when that boss fight kicked in was such a classic moment.
The Chronicles of Riddick was an AMAZING game! I remember being wowed by the graphics back on the original XBOX.

I will never understand Minecraft's success
me too
Sleeping Dogs is a great game with a really good story like a john woo film.
Mad Max
Spec ops the line could be in the video
"OVERDELIVERED" and yet Tango Gameworks was shut down.
Overdelivered didn’t do sh*t when your game is not selling and not making alot of money
@@sakuragi1062 Must have been the xbox name hmm?
Just shows that No one is safe
@@sakuragi1062literally. Tango has a High burn rate, and it didn’t sell well
They have a losing "commercial record" they're 3/4. One good game does not save a studio
Vanquish! Would love to see a modern sequel!!

The mad max game wasn’t a movie tie in game, it had nothing to do with the movie that released at that time
It’s a game based off of a film yes?

Mind craft sucks
I loved tomb raider 2013, Rise, and I thought Shadow was decent
OK, that “BLORF!” In the Hi Fi Rush segment made me LOL

Yeah. Aside from Sleeping Dogs, the only other games I can think of are GTA Chinatown Wars and the Yakuza series.
I agree sleeping dogs sequel or reboot plz
Peter Jackson's King Kong deserves a mention
Hide your Tacos Michael Zackie in 2009: "I guess you guys aren't ready for that yet, but your kids are gonna love it"
Elden Ring really UNDERPROMISED???????? Really??????

elden ring definitely wasnt underpromised ,there was huge hype over it
Underpromised by the devs...
Nah Tomb Raider reboot series was mid. I want adult Lara back.
Return to Monkey Island announcement trailer came out at April Fools and the actual game released the same year. The game itself was awesome
No Guardians of the Galaxy I see.
To be fair Guardians never promised anything since most if not everyone wrote it off after the Avengers abomination
@bamban_garcia5562 it turned out being amazing tho. Its honestly one of my favorite action adventure games, even if it lost steam in the end.

I enjoyed Sleeping Dog more than GTA V.
Thats not much of an achievement though, gta5 a mindless casual product
Baldurs Gate 3 deserves to be on that list.
I love that game with a passion but it didn’t over deliver it delivered exactly what it promised
Except the devs promised a lot leading up to its release, so it doesn't count
time stamps....time stamps...
Whatchya gonna do, whatchya gonna do when they come fo.... oops... wrong song.
Hi gaming bolt w video w yotuber❤
