Adrian "Wildman" Cenni completes the first ever ground to ground 360° barrel roll in a 4 wheel vehicle. Stunt was performed on November 14th in Ensenada, Mexico during the SCORE-International Baja 1000 contingency in the wash.

My respect is for the guys that made this happen, the ones who calculated the forces necessary for the car to do the roll and who designed the ramps for the car to jump from.
They are the true Magicians.

haha well they were off by a few numbers, if the jump was a few inches higher or he was going a little faster he would have made it perfectly and not landeed on one set of wheels first, its a major flaw, any further off and he would have ruined his car and probably landed on the side of his car

I just met Mr Cenni at the hotel in Bark River and he is the nicest man ever and so humble too. Even if I mispronounced his name and nickname. I was so thrilled to meet him. I am now a fan. Thanks so much sir. I started watching off road racing when I went to Iraq and he was always entertaining to watch. I got a bunch of DVD's to watch when I was deployed and loved the action. He was always entertaining over and over.

Johnny King Jr and "Buzz" Bundy used to do these in a daredevil stunt team show (the Johnny King Dare Devil Show) at carnivals in the 1960's. "Bump" Willard did a real ramp to ramp barrel roll across a river in the James Bond movie "the Man with the Golden Gun".
As awesome as this is there is no way I would allow spectators to be that close to the landing area. Absolutely no way.

The first ever, really...I don't think so, that would be the plucky Brit that pulled it off first 40 YEARS AGO!
Famous for its degree of difficulty, a 360-degree cork-screw jump was performed by British stunt driver "Bumps" Willard in the 1974 James Bond film, "The Man with the Golden Gun," in just one take. This barrel roll stunt successfully launched a red 1974 AMC Hornet X Hatchback Special Coupe off of a slanted ramp, causing it to cork-screw mid-air over a narrow river and then successfully land on the other side. The car was moving so fast that the film had to be slowed down in order for moviegoers to catch what had actually happened.
The jump was thought up years before the movie was ever made and producers Harry Saltzman and Albert R. Broccoli took out patents on the jump to keep people from using it before it made its way into a film. The stunt was the first of its kind to use a computer to calculate the jump, borrowing the use of some of the most sophisticated computers at the time from Cornell University.
In 2008, the British automotive show, Top Gear, tried to recreate the cork-screw jump but failed to pull it off. Top Gear claims the stunt has never been successfully recreated.
That was not a 360 degree jump, as most of the turn was made before and after the vehicle was actually in the air.

Is it really that awesome?? 40 years ago one auto-mechanic did this stunt in the bond movie: The Man with the Golden Gun... and it was even in a real car, not a buggy and the ramp was made from wood :-D
Ron Cobb yes, I saw the Bond Top Gear special too, but still... it was a car with a mechanic in it... not a buggy with a stunt driver ;-)
That was different though, the ramp did most of the spin, it was a significantly different stunt.

Agree BUT there come a time when you have got to have the BALLS to actually do it. Irrespective and the physics and calculations,
Shocks can give differently, a sudden wind gust can counter-act your roll. Simple chaos theory could cause something to go wrong.... NOTHING is ever as easy as 'step 1, step 2, step 3, win". If it 'was' as simple as that, he wouldn't be the first one to have done it.

Everyone in the comments section seems to be under the impression that this entire thing was carefully planned. WRONG, FALSE. He was in his Landmaster, cruising a strange alien planet when someone from his crew came up on his monitor. It was his loyal comrade, Peppy Hare. He shouted: " Do a barrel roll!" So the guy manned up and fucking dominated it. Some hillbillies in the background were later photo-shopped in. Duh.
Later that night, he had an 8 bit nightmare. Peppy was back, but he was pixelated, and the only thing that our pilot could make out was. Chubadub, Dub dub.
