Like you, my Mom has Cutco, the set is a set my Dad used as a demonstrator set when he was a sales rep before I was born, I am 56. I bought Cutco based on my Mom's set. My wife dropped one of my knives, purchased from E-Bay, into the running garbage disposal and destroyed the knife. I sent it to them for warranty repair and received a brand new knife, so worth the 9.00 fee. Cutco is worth the price, awesome knives and a no-questions forever warranty. You get what you pay for.
Thank you for sharing your story. Great idea of getting a set on ebay. I hadn't thought of that. Awesome to know that they warranty second hand knives!
So you have to pay shipping and return ship costs, whereas you can just take it somone locally to sharpen just about any knife for pretty much the same amount of money? How is this a warranty perk?
They replace and/or sharpen the knives for free. All you have to pay for is shipping. Or if u have a local cutco office, u can call them and have a rep come to ur house and fix up the knife for u (100% free)
So? Mom is happy? Was Cutco prompt with the sharpening? Please let us know the outcome. AND do you know how old these knives are? (how long did they hold a good edge?) THANKS!
No its actually not LIFETIME -- its FOREVER Warranty. Meaning you can pass the on generation to generation! ---> BTW don't buy from amazon buy from a actual rep who can give you deals and help you try out all the knives to pick your best/most need set! It's forever warranty we cant pay for shipping for your grand kids.
I've gone through so many Chicago Cutlery knives. Most were free from them having to send new ones. The block in my kitchen is a year old and rusted in spots because someone put it on the dishwasher. My cutco knives will be here soon. They are amazing knives that we've wanted and finally decided to spend the money on them. My in laws have had theirs since before in met them 11 years ago.
Should have spent the same money on Wusthof classic cutlery. Good job buying flimsy plastic feeling knives at Wusthof price points. Cutco is a pyramid scheme, they’re not even Chinese made wal mart quality, they’re worse! Not all made in USA products are good.
@@Thamac15 they are used daily and have been for 3 years now. They look brand new and work amazingly well. My in laws have had theirs even longer with no issues.
When they say lifetime they’re legally allowed to put a set number on that. Cutco has a forever guarantee, people who bought them when they were first founded in 1949 still have a warranty on their knives and they will forever.
DEUS VULT High carbon and stainless steel. Grade is 440A is one of the highest kitchen grade steel made to date. And it’s just a very high end high quality knife. Not just the steel being amazing but because of the technology that goes into it, having famous handles, and for it being the last set of knives anyone would have to buy marks it at a high price. It’s also not too outrageous comparing to other high quality knives that are out there.
440A is a budget steel and is not even close to the highest quality compared to other knife brands. Many gas station pocket knives and other Chinese junk knives are made out of 440A cause it's cheap and easy to machine cause it has a relatively low carbon content compared to other cutlery steels in use today by other similarly priced brands. AUS-10, VG-10, 50CrMoV etc are all superior to 440A.
It’s expensive but they should’ve provided you with different discount options even as low as around $35 amount to $70 to around 95-160ish but they should have broken it down with you.
cutco knives were designed on a screen and then made and sold. they were never tested for practical use. the geometry of the edge tells you it wasn't designed by a knife maker. it was probably designed by some random schmuck that thought his design looked good. the blades and shape of some of their knives serves no purpose. the edge does not allow for a straight cut; blade is lopsided to one side for no apparent reason pother than to make it look good. they have knives where only 40% of the blade is useable. please stop this nonsense.
Hey Dad Reviews I am a Cutco Sales Representative and can hook your subscribers and yourself up with some awesome deals for Cutco. If you are interested I would love to set up a presentation for you and talk to you more about the product.
I have done unspeakably horrible things to my cutco knives. I’ve literally used them to work on my car…yet they look and function just as good as the day I bought them…they are incredibly well made…and incredibly expensive. Mine should have been ruined years ago.

Thanks for the info!
because its cheaply made and easily replceable.
mi nguyen say what you want I haven’t met one owner that wasn’t 100% satisfied
@@1nine8two39 i guess im just hating
@@minguyen-rl7sn nah fam, cutco sucks. It's a terrible MLM company, and yes cutco uses 440a stainless which is cheap steel.
I purchased cutco knives at Costco.... about 25% discount.

How often do you sharpen the knifes?

Good Rule: Avoid Amazon
I’m glad to hear this because I just purchased my cutco knives
I hope you like them!
Loving the Aldi chocolate box you used for shipping! Also, as someone mentioned, it's forever guarantee, meaning it'll transfer to your kids!
Gotta improvise when you can. The box worked! I'll be sure to get my mom to will then to me!!
They will still come to your home and sharpen them for you. You don't have to mail them out.
A lifetime warranty is only 20 years, according to the state of California.
Cutco has a forever warranty.

They don’t have a honing rod if you buy a honing rode they might be good
It's kind of like a serrated edge, special sharpener needed. Can't do from home. Trying to figure out whether it's really worth it.
I literally have a video of me describing how great the job opportunity is for being a Vector Marketing Representative!
Products with lifetime warranty that I have tested as follows: Zippo lighters, anson belt and buckle, Darn Tuff socks, le cruset
It has a forever guarantee not lifetime
When they say lifetime they’re legally allowed to put a set number on that. Cutco has a forever guarantee, people who bought them when they were first founded in 1949 still have a warranty on their knives and they will forever.
Not lifetime, it’s forever! You will never need to buy new knives again :D
And you can hand them down generation after generation so your kids and their grandkids don't have to buy them ever again too!
You know what steel they're made out of? What justifies the outrageous price for a kitchen knife?

you're not supposed to do this as a sales rep
Chicago Cutlery used to be good....now there cheap made in China knives that you buy from Walmart
That sucks. I hate to hear that
Ugh crappy knives. Stamped not even forged. I’ll stick to my German and Japanese knives.
What brand of German and Japanese knives do You have?
big liars.
who?

Those are serrated knives....you may as well go down to Walmart and buy a 30 dollar knife set....wusthof is the way to go
I haven't tried those before. I'll look for them
They actually aren’t serrated and wusthof is literally just a downgrade from cutco at a higher price.
if anyone wants cutco i sell it so hmu
