Rest in peace, Martin. I always found you to be not only funny but also cute, charming and with a quality of kindly, droll warmth that was unique to you. You were really brilliant and I enjoyed everything you did. I remember you from so far back...from when I had to sneak to a friend's house to watch Fernwood (deemed "too adult" by my parents) when I was only 13 in the 1970s, to laughing so hard I couldn't catch my breath at your drug fiend pharmacist in "Two and a Half Men" reruns just last year. All, simply superb. I'll miss you and your off-kilter, endearing wit. I'll always remember you. Thank you for all the laughs.
An artist who was an accidental, and incredibly witty comedian. He could've dominated the field in the same way as Steve Martin, if he'd only have had one big break. An enormous talent.
These two guys are almost as funny as Martin and Jerry Hubbard. The wit of Martin Mull, combined with the improv humor of Fred Willard made Fernwood 2nite a unique cult classic, for sure.
They need to officially release Fernwood/America 2Night. I have "bootleg" copies which are pretty good, but an official release would be incredible....
@@guydark2061 Mary Hartman was one of the funniest shows, ever. And so was Fernwood 2Nite. Some of the zany people they got on there! I have a feeling that they may have been influenced by Bonzo Dog, and Monty Python, as well.
I remember when this situation was reversed and mull was guest host on the tonight show and he was very rude to Letterman. He who laughs last laughs best.
A buddy of mine was in a play with Cindy Williams (from Laverne and Shirley) followed by a movie with Jaclyn Smith (Charlie's Angels). I said what would the 14 year old version of you think about that?

Brilliant! Sarcastic Humor pf Martin Mull. Absolute Genious
He was really impressive in the 1980 satire film, Serial.
"Shut up, Jerry."
Fernwood, America Tonight was the best. Loved the 'Drool Cup' dude.
I always loved Martin and Fred together. I wish they could of made a fernwood tonigjt movie.
Martin Mull's Fabulous Furniture. A classic!
Two great,hip,iconic Americans together.
Mull & Letterman compliment each other well.....very similar styles of comedy.
Love Martin Mull!
Interesting that his character in Sabrina the teenage witch was named “Willard” presumably after Fred.
They talked about how great Fred Willard was! Yes!!!

Fernwood Tonight!
Kinda reminds me of an 80s Zack Galifianakis
Wow I'm sure I watch that live.Wow that makes me old but that's OK it's great to live
I watched it when it was live as well. I'm only 58. Life is a blast!
RIP June 27, 2024. Here's his 70s standup comedy hit "Dueling Tubas";

It's odd, how much Martin looked like Chris Elliot's older brother. Makes you wonder...
Half-brother, maybe.
I always suspected that Letterman patterned his persona after Barth Gimble
Martin and Fred ended up getting married in an episode of Rosanne a decade later, who would of thought
Russell on 2.5 Men was funny.
one of the .01% of celebs I would have liked to have met and befriended.

@@feinstei A box set dvds, yeah.
@@feinstei a lot of those shows wouldn't be allowed today. Too bad.
I think Dave "borrowed" heavily from Fernwood for the vibe of his 12:30 show.

Funny, funny guy~!
I still can’t believe that is Vlad from Danny Phantom😂
I guess This was before he became a one seriously crazed up fruit loop🤣😂
I just wished they added his character onto vlad....instead they messed it up to the point it needs to be burnt in a fire.
Saw him in a one-man show back in the 80's...rapier wit.
the alzheimers bit was hilarious

oh to be 24 again...
220? 😂
"The History of the White Man in America" Is it just pure coincidence that this clip was recommended to me while the BLM protests are going on?
Vlad masters
MM's "White People" pray to thank God "for all we own, and all we hope to own." He had another pilot idea, too----"Frontier Gyno."
OMG, an Alzheimer's joke (by Mull)!! You could *never* get away with that today!!
daveguy11 why?
@@snapperorgans3922 You probably know by now.
President Biden has proven you wrong!
Martin was the best! RIP.
Still alive and well.
Fred Williard was the one who passed,God bless him.
