    7:12 Force = mass x acceleration ---> F = kg x m/s squared
    F = 200kg (weight of Fireblade) x 31.2928m/s (70Mph/2.237)
    F = 6258.56N
    Convert that into kilogram force which is equal to the magnitude of force exerted by one kilogram of mass in a 9.80665 m/s2 gravitational field. Basically how much weight you have been slapped in the face with.
    Kgf = 638.195 Kg

      Benjamin Hatfield This assumes that Al’s face slowed the blade from 70mph to zero in one second - not actually that likely. I’d prefer to do the sum based on energy dissipated by Al’s mug at E = 0.5mv(squared). Either way it’s the least pleasant way to open your visor I can think of! 😱

    24:35 "I've never had a head injury like it"
    Those two head twitches immediately after? Were you taking the piss? If not, scary stuff. Bike racing is a brutal business, a bit like horse racing. The public doesn't often see the nags that perish behind screens, or end up at the glue factory for not being fast or durable enough. But for every champion there must hundreds/thousands of broken aspirants who bare the scars of participation.
    The thing that struck me most was the honesty and appreciation for each others experience. The stuff that wasn't said, that didn't require saying out loud but was understood with complete clarity nonetheless. If only people were as easy to fix as their machines.
    Thanks for sharing.

    I TOTALLY know what Mossy meant about deer strikes and being struck by lightning. The first one I hit in 2011 didn't really faze me at all. Like you, I just kind of figured, "Eh, it's one of those once in a lifetime things". But when I hit another in 2014, it really messed up my mind and, six years later, I'm STILL paranoid about riding on highways, constantly watching the sides of the road for that damn deer that's going to leap out in front of me.

    This just confirms what I have always thought: if you want to be fast, you have to prepared to do hospital time. If you mess with kinetic energy it will eventually mess with you. I know the sound of smashing plastic and scraping aluminium only too well - it sounds like many many banknotes being ripped up - your future earnings - but at least I have stayed out of hospital. Ergo: I am not fast.

    "...run tight in a cirner" LMAO!😂. I really sympathise with you Fagan. I'm 53 now and depend on opioids and gabapentin every single solitary day to keep pain at bay so bad it would cripple me otherwise. My accidents haven't been as bad as yours but in biking I've hit a bullock which walked out from a gap in a stone wall, hit a fox, hit a deer at 70mph, a pheasant and a bat!!!
    I've damaged my spine, femur, hip dislocated my shoulder, broken ribs, my fingers, damaged my pelvis, neck, wrist, scaphoid, thumb...the list goes on. I feel for you because I know that when you hit your 50's, all those injuries will come back to haunt you. I can just cope with the pain but my biggest regret was several years afo having to sell my gorgeous gen1 RSVR Colin Edwards replica Aprilia Mille which rode, sounded and looked stunning. It was one of only 40 ever imported and I had it 6 years. I just couldn't ride sportsbikes anymore as my spine had no flexibility and the hip surgery left restricted movement too. I tried a tiger 1200 but the weight was too much...I now hate to admit it but I ride GSA1200, the one bike I said I'd never be seen dead on but to my surprise I love it. So still able to ride but not sportsbikes.
    I sincerely hope that you never have to suffer the 24/7 pain that tortures me but ut sounds like you've at least had excellent medical care which I never got...cock ups by one consultant in fact resulted in temporary paralysis in my case. All the best bud, stay safe and enjoy your riding mate.

    Great video guys. It sucks that it took some gnarly incidents for the content, but we can all relate to that feeling of knowing you’ve done a boo-boo. Stay safe out there boys

    Good stories, and unlike the average pub crash stories you weren't trying to outdo one another, no "mines a bigger crash than yours" . Carrying on after being through the grinder takes some strength, hadn't realised how badly Al had been broken at various times. I've had the nearly hit a deer experience too, one night in the dark, used up one of the 9 lives I think. ATGATT boys and girls
